I've come to realize that I don't know how to interact with my family anymore, especially my parents. I mean, we've never quite been on the same page anyway but the more I've grown up and distanced myself and had my own life and stuff the more I realize that I just don't know what to do with myself around them. I don't know how to respond, I don't know how to carry myself, etc.
It kinda sucks.

The stereotype likely comes from the era of slavery in the US, primarily the mindset that all an ignorant, "soulless" slave needs is some sweet fruit and fried chicken, and they'll pick cotton and tobacco all day long.
Meat is tasty, but don't ignore the fact that the stereotype comes directly from bigotry and racism.
