apparently its not my copy how did this major flaw in the core of the gameplay get a pass? I'll continue to give it a bit of a go and see if I get used to it but we will see i guess

I've been working all day long on my map, and I left the door and window of my bedroom closed, and the central heating was on. As a result my room was maybe 22-24c, causing a headache.
Just decided to open a few doors and windows upstairs and holy shit those 4c from outside felt really relieving.
I suck really hard at video games so I'm just going to stop for a while.

He's the perfect blank slate protagonist, he has a cool design and yet his personality is completely ambiguous. People grow attached to him because he is essentially them.
Also it's just cool to be a scientist with action movie levels of gun expertise.
It's the same reason anyone would find the Doomguy to be a cool protagonist.
