There was a thread about a trans teen killing herself because her parents didn't accept her and some people rated it funny and winner and stuff so a bunch of folks went off the deepend and were posting pictures of all the people who had rated it as such and were calling them rude names and belittling their existences and such so they all got banned for ratings drama.

it doesn't help my mom's had really bad medical issues for most of my life so it's just even freakier cuz I imagine all of that plus pneumonia is really not gonna be a good combo

This is actually more a problem with the emulator rather than your PC specs. In terms of raw power, the GameCube and Wii are more demanding systems to emulate; however, Dolphin emulator probably works fine on your PC as it does on most. Dolphin is even being ported to Android and is rapidly reaching playability on many games with OpenGL ES 3 devices.
The PS2's hardware is complex and difficult to emulate. Even if you had the best computer a typical consumer could possibly buy, many PS2 games would likely still experience slowdowns with emulators like PCSX2.
