Few days ago I was talking to some of the sophomores at my school, small-town school so your friends are going to be varied and will be mixed with the lower grades. Anyway I see them looking at KKK information and I should tell this is in Alabama, but regardless they're only looking it up because one of the history teachers told them of a chapter in Texas because they're learning about that point in US history. So I tell them.
"Hold up, we can look at KKK chapters and their websites, but the board actively blocks Wikipedia?"
So within a few minutes we decide how we can take it before we stopped, first up on the list was 'Local KKK chapters in North Alabama.' didn't find anything outside of ones near Birmingham and Montgomery, next up on the chopping block was The Aryan Nation. Funny enough THAT was blocked by the search filter but we just misspelled it and ended up getting on one their main websites regardless. Then we looked up 'Islamist Extremist websites.' ended going to Hezbollah's main site,one called the North African Resistance, and two really sketchy ones that were badly translated. So at this point I'm still saying.
"Why can I learn how to be a jihadist and how to join white extremist groups, but not use Wikipedia to look up somethings about a war?"
Next logical step was going a little deeper and looking up how to make pipe-bombs, ended up getting a website with instructions and graphic pictures of how to make them and one of them being used. Flawless logic, lets not allow anyone to use a information resource besides the teachers but the kids can learn all this shit and not get blocked.
that's the American education system for you. The people in charge are too detached from what actually needs to be done, and they just put stupid, arbitrary rules in place that actually hinder and complicate things more than they help.

What's even worse is that dude is clearly in a wheelchair.

After weaving my way through crowded stores to get groceries, I went to get some doughnuts from Dunkin' Robbins(it's what I call the Dunkin' Donuts near me as it is also a Baskin Robbins). Of course they are out of donuts. They haven't baked in store at that particular one in like 25 years(doughnuts are delivered to there daily and are usually gone by 4PM).
I more so say something as I can't believe THAT was 25 years ago.
