Pike aren't that bad if you prep them right. Try looking up Canadian recipes with the word "jackfish". Most people I have talked to tend to prepare them like yellow perch. Cut it up into small pieces after removing the bones, make some italian seasoned beer batter, batter them up, fry em, and put them in some spaghetti. I still prefer perch and walleye though :v:
What kind of fish other then pike are in the lake though? Anything like bass, bluegill, and carp?

Hm... That sounds off. Catfish and Crappie are usually a pain in the ass when you are fishing for pike, and walleye, bass, and pikes are usually more easy going but keep to themselves. What you could try doing to get a catfish is goto a local store and buy chicken liver. They go about $0.50 for about 6, and all you really have to do is hook it through left and right. For crappie and smallmouth, just run small double-joints and spinners.

I'd recommend anything in chartreuse, firetiger, or hotsteel. If the water is to murky, just stick with blood bait, worms, and minnows.
I could go for some seared mahi mahi right now... tastes just like steak! Also, bacon-wrapped sausage is pretty damn good.
