Today I cut the clear back on my doors i just did because the glare from the sun on that fresh coat of paint made everything shiny and reflective in the cabin, and decided to go for a flat clear instead. OH MY GOD... IS IT PRETTY. AND it matches the mofuggin dash pad. They're gonna be WHite vinyl, with some form of black soft material in the center that's easily cleaned. Also next month comes a brand new carpet, and new top dash cap, and new carburetor, and new exhaust, and new wheels, and bigass murica' tires. I'm excited. I really want a wheel like that... but wooden for my Beetle. The wheel in it looks good from a distance but it's got many deep cracks so I don't know when it's gonna snap :v:
No rush converter but the primer does have anti corrosive property though. The guy at Advance was worthless because I specifically asked him what exactly I needed and he said "sand and paint it" so I did need to go back and get primer. I'll run over in a bit and grab some clear coat too. Thanks <3
Chances are it'll just rust through the primer and/or bubble up around, there's a reason as to why I suggested using a rust converter.
if he sanded/ground all the rust down to nothing/nearly nothing and hes using good primer, then it'll be fine and dandy.
Sorry, but I don't trust auto part store employees. If they have an aversion to talking about car/truck stuff in detail it's very likely they don't know shit, and just sell parts. 3 out of 8 people at the nearby AZ to me know whats up and all but 1 guy at the new O' Reilly's are very knowledgeable. Unless I hear someone talking things I know or are above my head, I don't trust their info as far as I can throw my own car. But I guess it just depends on where your at.
Cleaned the throttle body, replaced the ECR, and washed/waxed it. Productive day. The reaction will let you know. "I'm pretty sure all gauges are mechanical, cause they spin" then you know you talking to the wrong guy. I know they are checked and clocked, but there's gotta be something in there to keep it accurate I would think.

But it has something to do with the axle speed sensors, the ECU, and transmission.

I heard you like trailers

Finally finished up my heater core job and got my tune up kit in yesterday. plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, oil, air, and fuel filters, crankcase breather element, and pcv valve. Next is I think a front end suspension rebuild kit. I am looking a few different kits. The main difference is one includes inner tie rod ends with the others, the other does not. Plus one comes with all the front poly bushings.

...Why would you do that?
So I actually had time to work on my car, Isn't that weird? Basically I cleaned these, with a lovely clean vs unclean comparison. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Nginyw6.jpg[/t] Into which I would use a press to insert these ballish-jointish things [t]http://i.imgur.com/fBQeea1.jpg?1[/t] Due to a suddenly imposed deadline I didn't take any pictures during the process. :v: Finished product: [t]http://i.imgur.com/okK46it.jpg[/t] I totally didn't change the ball joints because the old ones were rotten. I only did it because the new boots were yellow and pretty.
I decided to paint my steels the other day since i can't do anything else with the car while i wait to get a settlement from walmart. My first attempt went pretty good, this was on the new wheel that i was having put on at walmart when they broke my shit [t]https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1500x844q90/89/rasm.jpg[/t] Here was my second attempt on the next wheel [t]https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1260x709q90/843/skt2.jpg[/t] OH GOD WTF, paint wasn't compatible with the underlying coat of paint. So i wet sanded, primered, and wet sanded some more [t]https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1260x709q90/196/b6or.jpg[/t] And got this, i didn't have enough paint for a 3rd coat, so i had to go on heavy with the second, and it kinda doesn't look as good as the first wheel, but atleast it doesn't look like i was using a dogs ass as a spray can this time. [t]https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1260x709q90/11/zp4p.jpg[/t] Final product. It's a shitty photo but you get the jizzst of it. [t]http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/24/rm0z.jpg[/t] Poor dead dusty oily walmart hand printed civic. Feels good to have something other than the old flat/semi-gloss paint i used the first time P.s. yeah i painted the valve stems, who gives a fuck
Well, he's obviously got spare tires to waste. [editline]22nd January 2014[/editline]
...Why would you do that?
god damn it.

I may buy a set of HX alloys for the civic and get a fresh white coat on them.
...Why would you do that?
Because you can? I've seen guys do burnouts in the bed of a pickup.
...Why would you do that?
probably better for it than doing a burnout on the ground anyway since you don't need to stand on the brake.
