New amp got here today, my old eclipse was crackling and cutting out and stuff... but now they match! :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ysz0lfR.jpg[/t]
Wires-OCD kickin
I was given a 2 cycle snowblower that was "running when I stopped using it but the carb was funky and after sitting for 2 years without the sparkplug in it its locked up." So I poured wd40 down the spark plug hole 2 days ago and let it sit. Spins over like a charm now. But when I started into the carburettor I found that it had been sitting outside for a bit and that the float is literally solid with ice. So I let it melt off and rebuilt the carb. Fired right up and works like a charm :) Pics of the first day I got it Looks like ice in the cylinder [t]http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i170/garrittpwl/photobucket-104119-1392170420531_zps005f55f7.jpg?t=1392170421[/t] Has a cover but its removed for this picture [t]http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i170/garrittpwl/photobucket-141174-1392170419905_zpsd49f0216.jpg?t=1392170421[/t] Carburetor Float frozen in ice. [t]http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i170/garrittpwl/photobucket-127366-1392170418640_zps996feb95.jpg?t=1392170420[/t]
Here's my work for today; Turns out my carb float had some cracks in it from where it had been frozen/partially collapsed. So I removed the float. drilled a hole in it to drain the gas that was inside it, then sealed the hole with solder, then let it soak in water to refill so I could locate the cracks. Once full of water I used a heat gun to boil the water out and watched it steam from the cracks. From that point I soldered the cracks up and this is my end result. Neat. But... you missed afew spots.
Still working out the kinks in the throttle adjustment, but it's getting there. Fucking video codes... here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbUFneYbj-s
ftfy
Appreciated.
So the angel eye kit I want to get comes with a harness that helps it set up as DRL. Which I really want it to be:)
I was 2 seconds from dropping my head onto my engine, when i realized i don't have a 12 point socket for my head studs' nuts that's 3/8 drive, and no 1/2 to 3/8 adapters. Fuck, oh well, guess i'll have to do it tomorrow.
Wires-OCD kickin
Yeah it's a mess :v: I will clean it up though I just haven't got around to it lol So I was going to do a cool auto-dimming/built-in-maplights rearview mirror swap tonight but I just got it in the mail and the mount on it was all wobbly so I'm sending it back for an exchange... so I guess that will have to wait :(

Try not to use instagram next time to take a picture. That contrast is killing my eyes.

Should I go with 6000k halogens for the low beams and high beams? And 5900k for the foglights?
Should I go with 6000k halogens for the low beams and high beams? And 5900k for the foglights?
I have 6000k. Too blue, no real light output that is usable.
Did this yesterday, and they are awesome. I can SEE at night now, I'll do video next chance I get. [thumb]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y150/Takie_Kaio/CAM00392_zpsc271c69b.jpg[/thumb]
I have 6000k. Too blue, no real light output that is usable.
Bump it down to 5900k or 5000k?
Just got done changing the oil and spark plugs... ... Plus adding a boost controller and the corresponding mods to make it work. Car just jumped from 7psi to 15, and it feels good. Once you hit 3.5 k and up it just slams you back, absolutely wonderful!
turbo is pretty great but nasp is hugely underrated
my na cobra is fun bit it would be more fun with boost
Boost anyday of the year.
Well - I am hunting down some kind of interesting tachometer. If anyone sees one for under like $40, point it out to me. I don't want a SUN, or AUTOMOTER. I want something that is incredibly difficult to read due to how it's setup. The more old-school - the better. 50s/60s preferably, with its own mounting cup, since it's attaching to the column. If it has a completely round face gauge, I probably don't want it. Don't look actively or anything guys, just let me know if you see one. I'm leaving my digital gauges behind for something more gaudy.

Just got done rebuilding/restoring my starter, stopped in to get some gas last night and it just went rrreeerrr rrreeerrr, like it wasn't getting enough juice. turns out the brushes are almost done and it was dirty as fuck. So I cleaned it up, regreased the moving bits and futzed with the 4 brushes a bit and now it runs like a top. Thank god, I don't have the dosh for a new starter right now.
I switched out a line on my fuel rail going to my FPR, the old one was really dry rotted and starting to crack. Also changed my diff fluid for some new Mobil 1 Synthetic, don't even know how long the old fluid was in there for but it was like a dark yellow. Oh man, the old diff fluid smelled like a nightmareish deep fryer, like it smelled horrible, also had some shavings on the drain plug.
I changed the diff fluid on a Merc Mariner last week, the fluid smelled SO bad it had me dry heaving for 5 minutes. I dubbed the smell "Satin's Taint".
http://cnj.craigslist.org/pts/4244815293.html something like that?
Kinda. Except not as Americana. The cup is going to be chrome or black. I'd hate to paint over that.
Speaking of boost and n/a, I got the D17A Vtec-e head on my civic, and vtec wired up to my VAFC. Drove it about 30 miles so far and it's doing alright. I just got the VAFC all wired into the solenoid so i haven't got to check that out yet. I'm waiting for my engine to become completely cold so i can check the torque on the head stud nuts. PS, n/a SUCKS
PS, n/a SUCKS
I have all the reliability in the world -if I assembled it correctly to begin with. Torque monster. In the future I plan on doing a 6-cyl turbo so I won't be too far off yours
