Repairs on the 240SX are officially complete. Motor feels more responsive now that there isn't any coolant being used as bearing lubricant :suicide: Feels good to have a working vehicle. Now the task of replacing crappy Autozone slave cylinder...
got my car inspected and bought a headunit. its pretty much a newer version of the other one I had so pretty nice. was gonna get the touchscreen one but didnt want to pay $150 more for a shitty ui. [t]http://i.imgur.com/hEta9JB.jpg[/t] ignore the trash lol

Just make sure you don't buy a rebuild kit for the slave since they're listed under the same. Here's a coupon code for Rockauto. 1941082413088243
The EM2 is far from an ideal or friendly Honda platform to modify sadly, the only thing you can do to make it any "better" of a platform is basically K swap it. What are you thinking now?
Eh the d17 isn't all that great but it isn't THAT bad. Just expensive. I really wanted to build the d17a block i've got but now i just don't want to do anything with it. Money is tight. I want to go to school for some sort of automotive engine type deal, because apparently it's something i can do, and it's something that could make me some decent money. Right now i just want to save up and get an s2000. I technically have the money to turbo charge the car again. I just question it's reliability, and wouldn't have money to save me if i blow the engine. [editline]20th February 2014[/editline] $8 an hour just doesn't really fund engine building and turbo setups that well.

Can you even build a N/A D17 that makes much more power? I was under the impression that it was a money pit for very little gain like the non-vtec B series outside of lots of boost.
I meant build it for boost To be more specific, built bottom end, forged pistons and rods, etc. Also a return fuel system conversion, aem ecu. I was looking at getting a turbonetics super 60 t3 with a .48 ar exhaust housing (for the not built engine), with a 54mm turbine, running 6-8psi (on the stock bottom end). Just not gonna turbo yet, if at ever. I need to have back up money, in case something goes wrong. By the time I have that saved up though, I may as well keep saving for a new car. Not to mention how long it would take to save up enough money for a dyno tune + the ecu and engine build. That's the dilemma.

Aside from the few dipshits here and there trying to sell me wrong parts I've not really much issue with em' and I've never had to return a defective part. Unless you mean to go ++OEM or performance, then vatozone is shit. Also glad to see your beast is up and running again.
I bought an Autozone starter motor for my truck 3 years ago. It still starts. Pretty sure I bought the gold/lifetime warranty one too.

Once was for my mudflaps, the other was because i was looking into getting a coil pack. Advanced Auto had one for about $90 with a three month warrenty, $120ish with a lifetime warrenty but itd take two days to arrive. I went to AZ, asked how much for one. Guy said $150 with a lifetime warrenty, and he could have it in the next day. I told him 'well, Advanced has it for $120' He pretty much flipped his lid after that 'Nah, no, theres no way. The price is never that different, and im not going to price match it' by then, he was turning red with rage. I just left then, dont even think i said anything else. No idea what their parts are like, but if that local one treats a potential customer like that, i really dont want to see what happens if i try to return a defective part

Then asked if I wanted to spend 150 to buy I new one. I grabbed it and walked out, went to autozone and it was at 100% Since then, the only reason I go to advance is to get cheap stuff, never trusting them with a large part of my car.
I don't like Advance nor Autozone. O'reilly's is were its at....Or NAPA... Either will do. Rock Auto if I want wait 3 days.
the o'reillys I go to is pretty useless. the only reason I use them is because they're just up the road. I prefer napa but it's about 7 or 8 miles away
for piddly shit or just picking the guys brains I go to O'reillys anything big/expensive I go to advanced cause advanced online coupon codes are the shit
I've had fairly good experiences with most Autostores I've visited. Auto Zone tends to be a bit more expensive than Advance and O'Reily's, and I find here at least that the Advanced Autos tend to have a wider selection of things than the other local parts stores. Though, I really have been liking Advanced for their online deals; it's saved me a good chunk of change just ordering online early in the day and picking up my stuff on the way home from work. I stopped ordering from Auto Zone online because when I needed a new Power Steering High Pressure Hose I ordered one online to have my parts held at the AZ on the road home from work. I ordered at like 8:30am, got a confirmation that it was ready for pickup at like 2:00pm; then by 5:00pm or so I went to get my parts and the people in the store couldn't find my order anywhere! So they had to go through and refund my purchase then submit a new request to have the part delivered again; except this time the following day. It sucked because that held me up so much for a repair that shouldn't have taken nearly 3 days to finally get done.
NAPA>O'rielly>Vatozone/advanced auto
We only have advanced / autozone around here :(
Got my new meat in the back. Lip clearance is less than desirable. I'm taking a baseball bat to it. Just like the 60s. Im kinda stuck on what I should do for the muffler on my car right now. This is what I currently have and it is annoying the hell out of me. I just want to do a muffler swap on my car, but not sure what I should get. So far, I am thinking of getting this. Any advice?
Replaced the Autozone slave cylinder with another one under warranty. Just avoid their brake pads like the plague because they glazed the rotors of two cars I installed them on. <3

There's a 520 with M-front and rear, and 4 tips at my school, looks really silly when it's only a 520.
Currently in the process of installing an HID kit on my E36, along with new high-brightness LEDs for my foglights. Kinda sorta had to drill out the mounting holes in the foglights because the LED have this big gnarly head on 'em that wouldn't fit. :v:

Are you a pro mechanic now shiban? [editline]22nd February 2014[/editline] Serious question
Are you a pro mechanic now shiban?
Far from it. Just a knack for mechanical objects and engineering. Still got a long way to go but with this current trend my life is going, who knows? Perhaps I will be a certified technician one day and own my own tuning shop

Pulled out the 'stang motor in 3 hours, shit was super fast. All the tubing is off to the side and easily removable, the engine is designed to slide back and forth on rails for easy of removal.
