Only the best!
I think there's a lot of hand-waving and snake oil based sales towards synthetic blinker fluid. I think it's a fad really. There is no reason in the history of the world that A BLINKER DESIGNED TO RUN NORMAL FLUID would operate better on synthetic fluid.
I think if you wind up destroying your blinker because you used "synthetic" mumbo jumbo, the resultant crying and whining you will do is deserved.
I've had some good and bad with it.
My old truck it would seem to evaporate. My new car requires it. My bike, I am told it is bad for it and seems diesel blinker fluid is best.
But talking bulbs. My moms 2011 outback or was it a 10. Anyways same body style. U have to remove the flares and most of the fender liner to replace low beam bulbs. And I bought a set of silverstars ultras. They lasted 4 months. And had to do it again.

I find the silverstar ultras last longer with a mix of half synthetic, half conventional. Avoid diesel headlight fluid with them though, it burns them up.
As far as blinkers go, I always run conventional fluid. If you keep up with your regular maintenance, there is no real reason to switch to synthetic if your vehicle doesn't require it.....

I've now ran diesel blinker fluid in my Audi for 3 months and have not experienced a single issue.
Even sent the blinker fluid to black labs to verify their was not a increase of ware on the filaments.

I was talking about the headlight fluid. The blinker fluid is fine, but my buddy's results showed excessive filament carbon in the fluid when he used diesel headlight fluid with his silverstars....
Any particular reason you guys like giving out false information? This ain't superhonda. Honestly diesel fluid? That shit was disproven in the 70s. Why don't we all just put water in our headlights huh? Cause that would be just as useful. Everyone is always out to think they are reinventing the wheel. I bet you guys took the blinker fluid pumps off too to "save weight" huh? Its no surprise you guys are changing your bulbs so often. Seriously 5w30 fluid, just like it says on the freaking fill cap on your lights. Use it in both the headlight and blinker.
crap my dealer says im 3 months behind on my blinker fluid change
is my car dead??
crap my dealer says im 3 months behind on my blinker fluid change

All depends on your driving style. If you don't use your blinkers too often, it won't hurt much. But it will wear out your fluid pump, which is a bitch to replace. I installed a morroso electric fluid pump with an intercooler to help with my bulb and fluid life...
i just called autozone and they told me to buy this

is that right???

False information?
I love you and all Serj, but I did run 10w-40 Mobil Blinker Synthetic in my Audi for over 3 years. Every single time I turned on the lights they would flicker ever so slightly and make a loud zapping noise as if the headlights had a valve clatter issue, but that was not the cause the fluid was just not doing its job well enough. All of those rough starts were eliminated now that I run diesel fluid T3 15w-40. And to back me up some were around here I have papers showing I now have reduced ware on the filaments from black labs.
But I strongly have to agree with you on running synthetic blinker fluid, only thing it truly helps and shows its colors in is in race cars when they have to frantically blink their hi beams to get the slower drivers out of the way.
[editline]fjng[/editline]Yes truly diesel blinker fluid is almost exactly the same as conventional, only thing truly is it has more detergents.

You take that coloring in letters idea from my cousins engine? It really helps make it pop and look nice!
[editline]17th March 2014[/editline]
I've been through every blinker fluid put there and they all suck, until i found the perfect one. Its a special 70w-3 European special order 1974 John Deer Tractor with optional beer coaster left blinker fluid. Its really hard to get a hold of, I had to go through a couple guys, do a few things I don't like to talk about, but its the best stuff on the market, my blinkers work so good I've had a couple people try to mug me for the fluid and I caught a few trying to drain my blinker.

Yup. The euro-deere74. That's one of the best mixes out there. I always ran that in my cars.the problem is its leaded, so all the hippy Prius drivers forced it off the market. (Don't even get me started on that Prius corn-based blinker fluid).
Race car headlights? Surely you know racecars have stickers for headlights. They aren't real. You gotta watch out peddling all this false information guys. There's going to be some unknowing stranger visiting this forum looking for helpful advise. Hell see this diesel crap, fill his blinkers with it and destroy them unknowingly over time.

No. BMW dealerships always try to push this kind of crap on you. Your manual will even say the recommended amount of blinks between changes. Get yourself a Haynes manual too. The process of changing it is well documented so you don't need to go to the dealership ever again for anything.
What is going on here?!?!?!

Don't worry, he drives a BMW so he never uses his blinkers.
My four banger 03 Mazda 6 had a Magnaflow system in it.
fuck that droning noise
bwuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
My 88 Chevy has a magnaflow and it doesn't drone, it just goes vroom

My exhaust goes put put put and my engine goes whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnne.
Amazon finally shipped my Thrush mufflers. So woop woop. Neighborhood disturbance begins in 10 days.
Apparently when my friend and I did the clutch change on GF's KA at the shop, we put the flywheel on the wrong way. Whoo for unbalanced crank haha shit. The motor is on it's way; if I work hard I can drop it in tomorrow night.
It's the tedious cleaning of parts that takes a while. A man and his scraper blade
Drove the J20 into our garage just now. Gonna work on it tomorrow.
It really doesn't fit in there very well, the door was just wide enough to get it in and because it's so long you can't walk either in front or behind it to get to the other side of the garage :v: Our garage wasn't built for american things.
Installed the aftermarket radio! It was pretty easy honestly, the hardest part was getting the power antenna to work since the instructions told you to hook up the wrong wires.
I absolutely hate its look and how it sticks out of the dash a bunch but I have a clock so yay
Show us pictures!
And don't use a stupid excuse as, "it's too dark, etc...."
We want pictures of this wonderful achievement that you have achieved.
Took this earlier, had to use the flash though

heh.
Does it sound better than the original unit? In my opinion most aftermarket headunits I've heard sound worse than stock.

It truly depends on the head unit and speakers. All of my aftermarket head units sounded 100 times better than my stock ones, but I always spend $500+ on a new head unit. If you replace your stock speakers with better ones, then it sounds 1,000 times better.
My brother in law replaced his stock head unit with my old one when I replaced mine (it was a Pioneer AVH-P6300BT). He also replaced his door speakers, added a 4 channel amp for them, and added a cheap powered 10" sub under his back seat, and now he's just blown away by the sound quality. He didn't spend much on it, but by upgrading his system, he now hears notes and nuances in his music that he's never heard before. He was speechless after I set all of his settings and let him hear it. He loves his commute now....

I can't notice a difference, only that the stock unit made disabling bass very easy, but as far as I can tell I can't turn it completely off on this. The rear speakers are completely blown so there's a lot more buzzing from them with this unit. According to a sales rep from Crutchfield, I would have to bypass the monsoon amp to replace the speakers, and I'm not doing that.

That's whats keeping me from replacing the stock 8" subs in my doors. I would need the subs AND a new amp to replace the factory one. I will get to it one day though. 2 8" subs could push out such clear mids-highlows....
I have a crappy old kenwood, it was ok, but it replaced the non working stock stereo in my truck. I then got a Pioneer I pulled out of my Supra when I went to sell it. It sounded miles better than the kenwood, even with the paper cone stock chevy speakers older than I am.

Its been a VERY long day....
well i did my rear motor mount on my 12 mazda 3 skyactiv today took me about 40 minutes. hardest part for me was getting those plastic pop rivets out of the areo shield.
but i still have my noise, a urnk noise when pulling out fast from what seems the front drivers side area, does it in reverse and 1st... :cursing 1:
i got the mount from ford, is for a 13 ford focus electric but they didnt have the bolt, so i ran over to my closest fastenal store about 20 miles away. the bolt i got was a grade 5 m14 bolt

after i got the areo shield off, the mount was easy. three 19mm and two 17mm bolts. for me they were easy to get loose.
