If you really have a hard time getting the oil nut off, go to harbor freight and buy a breaker bar. They are not made of junk, and it will help with leverage. It should come right off.
Unless the drain plug is wielded on, or you have arms made of rubber.
The only toughy is if it's stripped. Might need to be vice-gripped out.. but overall just be careful to not strip it.
Here's some shit I just youtube uploaded.

Built a gokart stand for my extra kart; basically just copied a proven design

(the black stand is one you would buy from a normal kart shop)
Just get the right sized wrench on there and get some leverage? Don't just half ass it dude. Also synthetic oil isn't too bad for the car. Just drive it until the next change and go back to conventional.
I wouldnt care so much if it wasn't half gone after 1000 miles
Clutch - you familiar with the passport 9500ci?
I'm thinking about getting that installed on the 7 since it doesn't set off the VSP radar detector detectors and has laser jamming
I wouldnt care so much if it wasn't half gone after 1000 miles
I lose so much more oil than that, stop worrying :v:
How much was that kit(?)? And is it any good for simply making the ride a bit stiffer?
This coilover system is just a replica of higher-quality Japanese sets. It has the same stats and adjustability. You get coilovers so you can adjust ride height as you deem fit and the nicer ones come with dampening adjust -you can make the shocks really soft or stiff on your choosing. It also comes with tophat camber adjustability so it's easier to align when the time comes. You can also rebuild it when the shocks are worn so you don't have to buy a whole new system outright.
Cost me about $700 from eBay; the real ones cost upwards $1000+. My tax return from all those months working at Infiniti all went into this car lol. Going to install adjustable arms cause now the alignment settings are completely off.
The only toughy is if it's stripped. Might need to be vice-gripped out.. but overall just be careful to not strip it.
That headliner wrap is pretty sick; I want to do that one day. The Nissan guys here suede everything
I lose so much more oil than that, stop worrying :v:
He is worrying because it drips onto the transmission and somehow makes it impossible for him to engage the clutch easily.
Went to install my air shocks today - naturally the upper nut on the old shock point would not come off. It just spins. Fuctit -
Had to pump the body all the way up to get the lower shock point back on. Old shocks still on there. this shit always happens. Anyone got solution to this blatherskite?

I dont want to drive all the way to my shop to get it, but it would be a good idea.
I did actually find the problem... there's a motherfudging nut on the other side of the frame... who knew.

Replaced my retarded hotside IC piping with some generic alum beaded pipes and some silicon couplers

JayDeeheM couplers... I can feel the rice mhhhhhhhh
Also reclocked the turbo and moved my turbo oil line around so that the return doesnt grind agaisnt the manifold anymore (braided goes through everything)
and I had the best idea; use kevlar firehose to shield my oil lines...
It caught fire on the highway, so don't do that.

Also DIY'd a new battery holder bracket.
We also started the 1uz in my cousin celica, it was out all winter, rebuilt with higher comp pistons and cams (v8 n/a power mhhh)

Somewhat! It's a great unit and I wish we had more fancy car business around here to do them. I haven't tried the laser shifters personally, but it seems that they work well from what I've heard from other techs. Otherwise the operation overall of the detector is pretty rock solid.
And if you're a big baller boss you can mount the display like this:

I kinda want to get it installed in the mirror
Would be boss as shit
Could even use the home link buttons as power etc
I'll tell you, even I personally haven't mounted a display in the mirror before, be it for this or any other things. However there's lots and lots of info on how to do it online, and it's certainly do-able ;)
I'm going to have this done by a shop.
I'm already going to be spending a shitload on the unit itself, I might as well have it installed properly :)
It is illegal to have them in VA so I'm going to have it stealth installed.
So, I found I have an ultra minor oil... leak? Well, it's more of a seep, but really slow. And I also found that both boots for my rack are shot to hell and its leak leaking, so that's going to be fun. I'm not going to bother replacing the boots, when the rack gets to a bad point I'm just gonna get a new one. Too bad NSX electric racks are so expensive, it'd be nice to give some power back to the engine. Actually, I don't even know if it'd fit tbh.

Took the Civic up for it's first long drive, put 330 miles on it in the last few days and it doesn't even really smoke at all anymore! Bought a glovebox and bunch of random parts that were broken on mine from a guy who parts out EF Civics and deals in rare parts. Picked up a Si rear seat from him to replace the sliced up stock one too.
I replaced all the exterior bulbs(other than headlights) on the Civic today. Half the bulbs were burnt out and/or were burnt up reducing light heavily. Now the taillights are as brighter than the brakelights were and I actually have all 4 instead of just 2.
Averaged 34mpg last tank with about 60/40 highway/city, so it gets better mileage than my car lol.
Next steps are new tires for my car, decent seats for the EF and speakers/deck for the EF. Anyone have tips of finding a really cheap deck with Aux? I've tried searching CL but there's no real way to find decks on it.
[editline]20th April 2014[/editline]
On second thought I'll recycle my Integra's deck to the Civic. I'd like a newer deck with proper bluetooth support. I'm extremely happy with my Kenwood deck but it's aging and the Aux port is going out as well as I'm on my 6th or 7th Aux cable.
AFAIK there's some fancy bluetooth audio shit that my phone supports called like A2DP which is supposedly a higher quality bluetooth audio. Are there any decks which have better bluetooth audio quality? Are there ones which support the newer protocol which is less battery intensive?
I'm looking for a single din under $200 or so which doesn't have a super flashy screen, I absolutely love the mildness of my Kenwood and I can't stand almost anyone else's decks. My speakers are all stock and I have a Powerbass 10" with a PB amp so I'm not looking for super high quality. I just want something that will play Pandora and not suck at it.
So I'm calling upon the car audio gurus to guide me here.

Actually, I really like the look of the new Kenwood deck. I would assume that if I bought this all I would have to do is pop in my new deck into my Integra since it's a Kenwood and use the new subharness and pigtail harness to put my current one into my Civic. Ordering it from Crutchfield they give me a Honda harness with it as well so I would really just have to wire up the harness for the Civic.

Holy shit no no no no no!!!
Boss is a 100% never touch it. Precision Power isn't far away. Don't buy either of these.
This is a really nice one, it's my personal headunit and is so regal in its styling, IMO. Rear USB and aux inputs, as welll, to keeps the face clean. It's got crazy DSP options for tuning and setting time alignment and stuff, plus 4v preouts for running signal to amps. It's a beast of a deck. It is two models years old, though, so tougher to find.
http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KDC-BT952HD-Single-DIN-Receiver-Bluetooth/dp/B007HD4AEK
The BT958 is this year's model, but uglier IMO. Same features, though!
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_76445_Kenwood-KDC-BT958HD.html
Otherwise the Kenwood that was posted is a great unit, too, with just a few less DSP and tuning options. Kenwood master race.

I kinda figured, but I was only quick searching, and duly noted on BOSS and Precision. That BT958 is pretty slick, to bad I'm addicted to my backup cam. I have been searching for something better then the Power Acoustik I have now, it's just too god damn big and I always come so close to smashing the screen when I shift to park. I can show you how close with a pic if you like.
You seem to be a radio wizzard, what's good at around 200 bux (no more then 230) has built in GPS, BT and decent speaker power output?
Okay, definitely grabbing that Kenwood then! It'll work with my old harness right? I've had a KDC-X494 which I picked up when they were clearing out the previous models for like $100-120.

I'm really contemplating buying OEM speakers from my Integra for replacements, they're only $10 from the dealer and every time I tell people that the speakers in my car are stock they give me surprised looks since they are the original abused blown ass speakers that lived through the mexican P/O's who added chrome rims and 2 12" blown kicker comps in a sealed box that was about as sealed as it broke apart when I dropped it.
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1131665S/Kenwood-KFC-1665S.html?tp=95
These seem to be the cheapest I can get that aren't junk. I need standard 6.5" speakers that aren't too deep and I'm definitely not ordering these for my cheap project. Should I just grab some from the junkyard? Is there some sort of 4 pack of 6.5" speaker which I could grab for my Integra instead?

These seem to be pretty good on my budget, however I'm concerned since the Civic speaker housings are shallow. These two speakers will be the only ones in the car so I suppose they have to be half way decent. My budget is basically the money I should be spending on tires for my Integra so the absolutely cheapest while being competent as a speaker is the goal.

I wouldn't find headunits on Craigslist. That's generally a bad idea as someone who sells a headunit on CL is usually a basement nerde or someone wants to get their money back so they try and overprice.
I hit the jackpot at my local weekend swap meet; got an AUX for a decent unit for $15. Police stolen salvage haha, had the pigtails and everything. You can also try local forum classified or several Facebook groups. Otherwise junkyard hunting will be the next best step.
But if you had the money, nothing wrong with throwing a bill at a nice Alpine/Kenwood/Pioneer
I'm just gonna repurpose my Integra's deck to the Civic since I've wanted one with Bluetooth/Pandora. There's no local forums anymore, every facebook group disallows car audio F/S because it introduces the kind of people who want to trade BMX bikes, Xboxes and more fucking car audio. :v:
Junkyards want dealer list price for fucking fender liners here, they raped my buddy out of $80 for a shark nose bumper support he needed for his pig nose bumper then another $20 for a single headlight housing for his 240sx. They rip every motor and transmission out of every car and chop the shit out of anything in the way. They want $50+core for a god damn 4 lug Honda donut spare and probably like $75+core for a busted ass old alternator/starter. Junkyard hunting here is trying to get away with stealing anything you can fit in your clothes or your backpack by appeasing them with your $20 deposit for bullshit you found.
They'll charge you for rusty bolts and broken clips if you show them to them. Don't even get me going on the "private yard" they have for their little buttbuddies and local shops that they have twisted around their fingers.

[editline]21st April 2014[/editline]
In a serious manner though, one thing that annoys me about my KDC-X597 is that when I go to hit the presets without looking directly at it I sometimes hit the display button by accident and switch the display from clock to radio text. A small nuisance, but still. I feel like the X598 will have a bigger issue with that though because the display button isn't spaced out from the others, they're all directly next to one another. I just thought I'd mention that. It's real annoying for me when I do it, the radio clock is the only clock in my car :V:

The plastic ring around the taillights was grey before

Spent some time experimenting with stuff to restore plastics and found that thin coatings of lithium grease works pretty well, held up through a light wash unlike most plastic restorers.
When I removed the taillight, I figured out that my car had been just spraypainted, 4 square inches of paint went with the taillight seal
Gonna rip the valve covers off next week and replace the gaskets, check the guides, drain the oil, replace the oil pan gasket, change the oil, and put a new air filter in.
Then I'll have to do the trans pan gasket, trans fluid, diff fluid, and an A/C rebuild and conversion to r134.

These seem to be my 3 options, they all seem pretty much the same to me. The 1665S and the Pioneer unit seem better spec wise and have a smaller profile. However though, there's also the 3-way speaker that is slightly less. I'm inclined to pick the 2-way Kenwood since it has free shipping outside of Prime but I can always toss in another Aux cable with the others. These will also be the only two speakers in the Civic for a while too.
