I finished the car off today and detailed it. Took about 3 hours. I also finished my air system which will control a horn eventually, but for now just allows me to add air to my air shocks, or blow off pressure on a switch panel on the driver's kick panel with a gauge. Have to take the turn signal out of it, since boats don't need those, and then seal that up. Then convert the display to a forward, reverse, neutral display, instead of the High, low, neutral, rev, park. After that the pitman comes off and I have to tweak it 90degrees. Lots of work ahead.
Rolled it over 160k the first time I got to actually take it for a real drive, I've put like another 500 on it and it only smokes a tolerable amount when I beat the hell out of it at the top of 3rd. It's far from new lol, the paint is pretty abused and it sat outside for quite a few years. So I installed the speakers and swapped the decks between the cars, it was a near all day ordeal for simple tasks. I hooked up my new deck, everything worked great. Decided to take it back out and hook up the mic and route that behind the cluster and up through the defrost vent. Put it all back in the Integra and my subs wouldn't get audio anymore. Tested everything and it just seems like the deck is no longer providing audio to the Sub outputs.
How's it sound mang? [editline]27th April 2014[/editline] Here's my goings on.
How's it sound mang?
Honestly, not all that much better than my 15 year old OEM speakers and completely blown/non-functional tweeters in my Integra. I was kinda expecting to notice a huge difference compared to my car but really I just notice some slightly clearer mids. Although it's also a 2 speaker system with no rears. If I get some 6x9's and a small sub or something for the rear I feel like I might notice a difference. Until the speakers in my Integra seriously deteriorate I don't really see the need IMO. Maybe I'm just deaf, I know that I have issues differentiating speech over any sort of noise. [editline]26th April 2014[/editline] They were definitely worth it as the only speakers for the price though, now that I have another harness spacing off the stock harness I don't have to hit the dash to turn the speakers back on and they actually work!
Just awkward to get to or what?
under the intake manifold hidden amongst a mass of fuel and vacuum lines, hose has a few 90° degree bends that have to be routed around some of those lines, which I can barely fit my hand in to maneuver it. it's impossible to reach the engine plug with your hand
I just changed a power steering rack...
but at least i'm not this guy
I always had a feeling the Firebird's right side low beam was shining further than the left. Just have to wait until night to accurately adjust them. [t]http://i.imgur.com/CE1EFbP.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Hx72zZM.jpg[/t]
Checked out the beams. They were lighting up the road great, about 60 feet away. Adjusted and now they're at the same level. The lighting increase isn't incredible but it's better than it was. Thinking about HIDs (with the proper housings!) but that's a big investment for a car that might be on its way out.

1999. Nice link, I'll follow up with it tomorrow after school
Successfully dropped in an aftermarket head unit into my mustang today. Spliced in a 1.5k resistor on the amp power on wire to reduce the popping because apparently the mach 460 amps uses 5v instead of the normal 12.
you would need 2 1.5k resistors to make a voltage dividing network (one to ground from rem, one to the amp from rem) to net you your ~6v turn on. Do you still have the turn on pop with just slapping the one in line?

Get a 2nd one and wire it up as a voltage dividing network and it'll be gone:
Finally got around installing my shiny powerlog on the front bank today. Got all my mods on to support a 3.5" S/C pulley, or about 3 more psi of boost. Woop. Should be getting my modular pulley hub by next week too.
Went to a friends to help change a diff.. he got an "adjustable" electronic shift kit... on "soft" its quite happy to spin wheels on shifts... on "hard" its basically gooodbye traction every shift Damn autos lol
I suppose I can post this here because it's something that I WILL be working on today. My truck started misfiring > do not know why > Must Fix The belt squeaks like hell > new belt > new tensioner > $100 Catalytic Converter rattles > $150 Maybe I should get a new truck.

Empty the catalytic, put a test pipe either inside of it to keep the look of having one or completely remove it, if you're really cheap. You can probably get a belt and tensioner for 50$ ish on rockauto. As far as the misfire goes, check your spark plugs and wires. Can also be related to your catalytic if it's completely clogged.
Misfire could also be related to the belt, no?
Misfire could also be related to the belt, no?
Not really, if it's just an accessory/steering/ac belt it won't cause misfires. He does refer to it as the belt though. But sure, if it's just an accessory it shouldn't cause it.

So that remanufactured steering rack I put in, garbage. It lasted one day without leaking. Time to do it over again, thank god for their 3 year warranty.
