OIL FILTER YUDODIS?!?! [thumb]https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Public/IMAG0297.jpg?w=AABya5ZXE-FP1XOIKI9F94h66l5T5XLeCwvwuiBcqQY-rQ[/thumb] I have a curse with 'em. I handtight them slightly and a few thousand km later they are fucking impossible to unmount even with the proper adapter. Screwdriver through it a few times (TIGHT SPACE FUUUUUUUUUUU) and it will come off eventually
I just changed my spark plugs and one of my spark plug wires decided to come apart into 3 different pieces. Apparently 38k miles was too much for the stupid $35 set of wires from autozone a few years ago.. Ordering Denso OEM wires from RockAuto for 12.30, gg. It's a good thing a had another of pretty new set of wires from the B16A I have on a stand that I bought for it forever ago! Forgot how poorly cheap parts fit, the boots over the valve cover don't even cover the spark plug wells..
I have stopped buying shit autozone parts all together. I can get the same price on much higher quality oem parts from the toyota dealer down the street. I mean hell, my autozone rotors are already warped after about 15,000 miles and the pads just spew dust everywhere. Going to put on oem rotors and pads (ceramic) and cant wait to feel the difference.
this weekend i blew up my transmission for the 3rd time incoming stiwagen also sup again but bbl with videos

Everything else is nil. Check your other sytems: alignment, caliper condition, etc. Ignition related plastics, I'd go OEM. Nothing beats OEM obviously, you get what you pay for
Been looking into parts diagrams, diy rebuild guides, etc. to figure out why my rebuilt rack is messing up. It looks like on the drivers side, all that holds the rack in place is the pinion and adjustment sleeve/spring. I simply dont understand why the rack shifts around so much in the housing when it turns. Its like they forgot to put the spring in the adjuster, the springs too weak, the sleeve and rack are worn and dont fit together properly, something.
did plugs and wires and now my low rpm misfire is gone. also found out my valvecovers are leaking like a motherfucker
I spent time adjusting that annoying ass wastegate, I am trying to set it to where I don't get lost pressure and boost spikes, which is a bitch to do without the proper gauge.
SUPRA IS OUT OF STORAGE Rebuilt and upgraded gearbox is amazing everything is amazing once again Power steering leak but I'll see it through soon Small 45min drive but a amazing smile on my face
7 is in the shop again VGCs dumped oil all over the ground yesterday also apparently some cooling system hoses are about to burst fun times hurray 2k more in repairs i still have to spend 4500 on a trans rebuild fuck me right?

Don't you mean VCG? Valve Cover Gasket... Why exactly does yours dump oil, hell mine is 30k miles past its due date and only time it leaks is when I give it the beans but never leaks on the ground. You have the worst luck on your 7series ever. Wish you luck! [editline]djfn[/editline] Shit pageking. Uhhhh I took the carb off the beetle today. Replacing the automatic choke.
What kind of trans are you rebuilding that costs $4500 to do, good god. Unless thats the price for a shop to do it, why not do it yourself, but I guess it isn't exactly a job for the inexperienced.
VCG's you can do yourself without much pain, and the most complicated part about the cooling system is the bleed process. Cmoonnnnn maaaan! I'm seriously considering switching to Evan's NPG+, the waterless coolant - these E38's are PERFECT on that stuff - no more exploding expansion containers, no more randomly bursting hoses, no... nothing!
Changed the fuel filter on the jep yesterday, phone is being gay so I cant post a pic. Thing was caked in dirt and rust, not to mention the hoses were cracking, It was the original filter.

Well I speak english
God damn retarded shop. they can't even put a tailshaft seal properly on my gearbox, it's leaking. Fuck it, I'm calling toyota tomorrow, they'll have a new one for the day after, it's a annoying 5min job at max in the driveway.
[QUOTE=dbk21894;40233705]just heard from the shop the PO did the VCGs himself - and fucked it up my heads could be warped[/QUOTE] I seriously doubt that, it takes some very specific and excessive circuimstances to warp the heads on an M60/M62 motor. The valve covers however COULD be warped if the PO had them powder coated but they were baked excessively - I have seen that happen. Thankfully an hour at the wreckers (in America at least) would net you a couple of new valve covers for next to nothing if it comes down to it. But in my opinion, most likely what the PO did was replace the gaskets without stripping the old magnesium deposits and paint / oil crust from within the gasket grooves and linings, it's VERY common for people to do that... all it would have taken is another 10 minutes and a toothbrush to keep that from happening. I think you'll be fine, but be wary of what 'the shop' tells you is wrong - they will almost always go to the lowest common denominator as 'the book' tells them, and if the book says warped heads or valve covers, they'll tell you that's the problem as if it were fact. I would bet otherwise. New gaskets - PROPER gaskets, there ARE different ones for different years and different motor revisions, you would not believe how easy it is to get this wrong, seriously - and new rubber grommets on ALL the valve cover bolts, and I'd say you'll be sorted. If someone does the VCG's again and it's not you, kick and scream until you're blue in the face that they replace all the rubber grommets. The old ones compress a fraction and even though they look fine and feel rubbery, the valve cover bolts don't apply proper compression on them (and in turn the new gaskets) and you'll just have a leak again. All of this can make an inexperienced or uncaring mechanic assume the worst.
whatever would i do without your wise words elder one
