Just for the sake of learning, what is a "collapsed rocker"?
Just for the sake of learning, what is a "collapsed rocker"?
In a hydraulic rocker arm, there is a piston that gets filled with oil when the valve is rested and none when it is used. When it collapses the piston inside seizes and it will no longer slide in the rocker arm. This is bad as play on the valve can lead to damage. Makes a loud tapping noise because there is too much clearance between the valve and the arm. As far as Nissan engines go anyway

Ahh, I see. It's kinda like a lash adjuster in the arm itself.
Decided that my late night car workings might be unpleasant to the neighbors, so I muted my lock/unlock alarm chirps.
Shits loud as fuck and I was getting annoyed by it myself, don't need the neighbors knowing that I'm bored awake at 4-5 AM fucking with my car.
Do you even eBay headers? Sooooooon, should finish by tonight

I'm totally rocking a $75 ebay header on the civic.

It's a shame the B series ones are so beyond garbage unless you go for a serious PLM or a 4-1. They can't even manage to weld the flanges on correctly or drill them straight. They generally leak at every joint possible and flow worse than stock units because the flanges are so improperly made and designed.

What do you even do with your car at that time?

Crazy, I don't really have any complaints on my d17 manifold. It's better than the factory catted log manifold the d17a1 comes with, for sure. I haven't noticed any leaks as of yet,l either. In all honesty, though, I only had the intentions of using it for like a month while I rebuilt my turbo setup, then I bitched out on it. I'm kinda saying fuck getting a new car for now, I kinda rather have a cheap custom time bomb again, I took a lot of pride in it.

Anything electrical, minor cosmetic stuff, radio stuff (quietly, doors and windows closed).
I haven't had a proper night of sleep since I was 18 and I blame stress.
I did the "9005 headlight mod" today to my Civic since the cheap ass low beam 9006 bulbs in it along with the water/moisture damaged/rusting reflector housings weren't quite doing their job.
Basically I snipped the top mounting tab of the 9005 High Beam bulb and dremeled out the teeth/guides inside the plug to prevent you from inserting it to a 9006 plug or upside down.
I have to say, for a reflector housing upgrade as long as it has a proper glare shield/cup this is by far the best, cheapest and easiest upgrade you can possibly do. When the bulbs that I already had in my garage go bad, I'm going to just buy some brand new bulbs from Rockauto for $8-15 and make some harnesses out of my old cheap ass HID kit harnesses.
So with a dremel, dikes and some headlights I had in my garage from a spare set of headlights. I increased the brightness of my headlights by like 25-50%. The only downside is that 9005 bulbs are rated for less than 1/4 the life of 9006. So it's likely I'll need to replace them fairly soon, although I already had the use tiny needle nose pliers on where the bulb filaments ends are soldered onto the base contacts so very soon for me :v:.
It also doesn't blind everyone else like gay HID's in reflector housings, the brighter light is also more white as well.

Fuck that Chinese manifold. It didnt fit. It hits my steering column and my rack and pinion. Plus the O2 bung and EGR bung isnt lined up. GG quality A++++++ will get fucked again. I just had Mr. Sergio weld up the old one :P

Ebay parts man, we all learn one way or another.
It's definitely hit or miss.
Some china manifolds are better than others, in all cases, you always have to mod something off. Replace the gasket they give with, with better ones, change clamps to band clamps.
gotta love clueless people; this is the second time I've made cash for sticking a test light in someones trailer light connector to see if the problem is their car or our equipment.
Last time I made $17; today some guy gave me $10.
Seriously all I did was probe 3 connectors with a test light.
Just got done spending the afternoon with Tiersin mucking about with my car. We installed a new Momo GT-RS bucket seat and we have the harness, but before we can install the harness we need a roll cage to attach it to. Two of the engine mounts got replaced as well which adds a fair bit of rumble and noise to the car, but it works once you get moving. Tiersin noticed not all parts of the suspension were tied down when we replaced the bushings which was the result of my wobble, and it got worse because it progressively got more loose. Now that everything it tightened down the car is glued to the road and she is officially reborn. Now to replace the tranny to fix the gear grind and install the lsd for maximum skids. My knees also hit the steering wheel now and even raising it just gets in the way of everything, so I'm thinking of getting a new steering wheel here shortly.
Not what I did, but my Dad pulled out the radiator because its pretty much shagged. The car was running at 90-100 degrees celcius most of the time (unless it was cool outisde or i drove real fast). The bottom nipple was all crumpeled so it didn't on the hose and the brass fins on the tubes disintegrated when touched. So its getting a recore and shit.

(that black things the A/C radiator)
Also took the L28 to the engine shop to be acid dipped and head decked, and machine work else where.
Continued on The "Everything-thats-wrong-with-swedish-volvo-culture" build:
New 15" rims (13" original) had to modify spring base in the front to fit the wheels. We rebuilt the exhaust and added another muffler to get sound down a notch and started attaching the 4-point seat belts. Think we've stripped atleast 250kg from the car so far. It's so light in the rear that it bounces on asphalt when you stomp it on 2nd gear.

Still looking for a turbo engine to replace the old B20 currently in it. Next up: Lower the front and start on the exterior mods. Still starts on first attempt after standing still all winter and spring :v:
If you really want to make it into a "Everything-thats-wrong-with-swedish-volvo-culture" then you can't just lower it, you've gotta remove all springs.
Jumping on it and bashing it with a sledgehammer helps too.

it needs to be drivable. We're taking it to the track once it's done.
And why did you add another muffler? Isn't that the exact opposite of what they usually do? Also, I bet you'll love this

out of respect for my closest neighbour :v:
Some guy here in my city drives around with this, that's how Volvo owners are here. :v:

Changed front pads and rotors on the civic tonight.
all the rotor retaining screws that weren't missing were stripped so i had to drill them off, but I got them changed and they work and stuff.
Such puny rotors though, seriously.
rotor retaining screw, you mean the 4 lug studs/nuts ;P
Those screws are the worst useless things ever.
I never put then back, not everyone has an impact screw gun to remove those things.
I fucking called it last night
"it's going to take me 5 hours to do an hours worth of work"
Lo and behold, 6 hours later I've accomplished one thing, and that is removing the old pilot bearing.

It's SOOOO much cleaner now, still stained but doesn't retain the (assumed) smell of the crotches of half the planets population of animals.
Right fucking scumbag the PO was too, the fuck did she do? Spill coffee and puke all over just for fun? She had kids too, bet they were dirty motherfuckers also...
