Finally got my headlight doors apart to get to the motor which isn't even loose - awesome. No clue what's causing them to bounce so much at highway speeds.
I also have had a feeling that my driver side door has started sagging even more recently and whaddaya know, it has. The gap is now much bigger and much more water gets in much more quickly.
Can you spot the gap?!

What's even scarier is that you can get a running 240 with a twin turbo setup for less than that over here.

Get ready to buy some of this.
It happens, the door pins wear out because the doors are so big and heavy, I know a few people in fact that have that issue with their cars.

I'm booking my plane tickets now.

Yep. I also believe the window doesn't roll up completely as the passenger side glass is flush with the weather stripping but the driver side stops short.
Unfortunately they don't make these cars anymore so I can't really pull parts from a junk yard as those would be just as old and worn. I have to try to find some OEM hinges somewhere (the hinges on the 4th gens must be replaced, can't just do the pins/bushings). Also need to adjust the window regulator.
I had my mustangs driver door hinges replaced after it fucked the window out of place. Now the window doesn't press up against the weather stripping and it leaks water, like when washing it.
Yesterday at a job interview: "Do you have reliable transportation?"
"Yes."
I get home, leave my car (95 Jeep Cherokee w/ straight six) and hear a loud hissing noise coming from the engine. I wait for it to cool down and then pop the hood, and find that my engine has had bright orange diarrhea all over the block. Found that one of the old heating hoses had blown out near its fitting and needed to be replaced. I refill the radiator with antifreeze and then ride with my dad to Autozone. Bought two hoses (replaced the other one for good measure) and drive home, only to realize that the two heater hoses were plugged into a bypass and didn't connect to the heater manifold at all, and the latter was completely rotted out. Turns out I've owned this car for three years and never realized my heater was broken. Another trip to Autozone, another part. Replaced the manifold, plugged in both hoses and clamped it all down.
Then I noticed that a CCV hose was disconnected from its fitting at the rear of the block. Tried to plug it back in and realized that it was also rotted. Called Autozone- they don't even carry that thing. I figure since it was obviously broken beforehand and hadn't caused a problem, I could get away with just taping it up with electrical tape for now.
Update on this: A few days after fixing the heater and its hoses, I had to take a drive downtown and I noticed the engine was overheating. I had to buy a couple of bottles of water from the Publix and pour them into my radiator or else I wouldn't have been able to get it home.
Now, the funny thing about my Jeep is that I knew right after I got it that I needed to replace the radiator, because it was clogged up with an orange-ish goop with the consistency of peanut butter. I never got around to it because I couldn't get the money together, but I would have replaced it myself if I did. These last few failures spooked me though so I borrowed some money from my parents and took it to Midas (I know, this thread is ideally about DIY stuff, but I was in over my head.)
So it turns out the previous owner had poured some kind of stop-leak solution into the radiator which had turned into an abrasive powder over time, helping to create the rusty gunk along with, well, rust, since the previous owner also ran straight water instead of 50/50. This gunk had also damaged the water pump, which had to be replaced. In all, $808 was the total to get it fixed.
Funny note: When we got the car back, there was a bit of a panic because it looked like there was a piece of trim missing from the front of the car. As it turned out, the grill was screwed on upside-down.
By now, the amount my parents and I have spent on repairing this vehicle has surpassed the price we originally paid for it. Since I have to hold onto it for at least until I graduate from university, I've decided to declare this thing a 90s classic and fix it the rest of the way. I want it to be a reliable daily driver for whatever naïve soul decides to buy this thing from me and drive it into the 2020s.

I don't know how the popups work in your car. but in mine they have these arms with bushings that wear out it makes them bounce when you hit a bump.
I did an Clutch2 today, and installed a new stereo in my mom's car. Bought her a nice Pioneer MVH-X360BT with Bluetooth, A2DP, iPod/USB, handsfree, etc. Here's a pic of it, featuring Moog's Forced Induction:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/L4oz3ap.jpg[/t]
Also got her a little Connects2 for the steering wheel controls, so that she (or I) doesn't have to move her hand of the steering wheel. Made a nice bit of cable mess in the back of the head unit, but whatevs. Worst part was running the wire for the microphone, began trying to run it up the display on the dash, before I realized I could just run it through the fusebox, up the door next to the airbag and into the interior light. For some weird reason, the light wouldn't come out, so I had to push it in through the headliner. Turned out really nice, you can't tell it's been done unless you know where to look.
Good work soldier :')
It's really sweet being able to just get in the car and have my music coming on the stereo automatically, and then being able to control it from the steering wheel. But my dad complained that it sounded like I was far away from the mic (it was clear though), any idea how to improve it?
Dad bought a sand blasting set with a little chamber on wheels so I tested it out:

Aw yiss
[editline]17th June 2014[/editline]
Did that with both of them, and I'm gonna paint the brackets black and put them on the Beetle :v:
I'd love a sand blaster but I wouldn't want to have to keep buying material.
[editline]17th June 2014[/editline]
That looks like new by the way. Huge difference.

You could probably make a DIY blasting cab with some wood, plexiglass, and long gloves. That way you could recover the blasting media after and reuse it....

That's what my dad bought :v:
Incredibly great and easy to use. the chamber does limit the size of what you can blast though.

But you could make a larger one with some sheet metal or plywood (you would have to line the bottom of it with some sheet metal if you used plywood though) I'm sure for relatively cheap. Blasting cabs are definitely the way to go....
I made a 4'x8'x4' blasting cab out of 1/8" plate.
Meh, was too heavy duty and conducted electricity so you would get shocked if you blasted with sand.
I would totaly make my next one out of OBD plywood with a angle iron frame,
If you had grounded it, you probably wouldn't have gotten shocked
If you had grounded it, you probably wouldn't have gotten shocked
Bleh, That would take more time and a copper rod.
Or, a regular copper wire or a plug if you're indoors or near indoors.
Got truck
"Bulb is kill"
no.

This came from northwest PA with the brake fluid cap not really on at all.

And I went full-weeb with the gate control program.

Last 4 days were basically a jumbled mess of timing belt ate half way and ordered ebay hubs of the wrong size. Then a collapsed plastic plug for some ignition coils, all this on a 99 Hyundai Elantra, a friends car.
But during this fucked up excursion of yelling, throwing shit and personal over heating (was around 90, felt like 100k) I got an old but fairly nifty New Toy.
It's really just a mock up because that filter is rusty and old as Aerosteon

I don't have a picture of my dad's chamber, but it's big enough to fit a regular sized rim so it's big enough
Best way to get sandblasting cabinets is finding places that are shutting down.
Got a pic of where the mic is placed, Gulen? and a pic of the interior perhaps? I can try to help you get it in a primo spot.. generally Pioneed mics are solid.
Scientwist, you need some zip ties and split loom. :)
c0nker is a siscon :') We all are at, heart, though.. can't say no to the imoutoswag.
Only need some small couple of things like indicators and brake light, then all the wiring is done.
Electric windows, Central locking, fully adjustable electric seats, 10 inch fan in front, all works now
and so on..

Electric goodies in an Amazon? Heresy I tell you! Heresy!
Cleaned the hell out of the garage, vacuumed it out then organized my car parts which I've basically ran out of room to store and have various bits spilling out of everywhere. Pulled out whatever I want to sell and tucked away everything else. Did an oil change on my Civic, oil filter was stuck on pretty good and my oil drain bolt feels stripped now(yay for cars who had lives of shit places like Jiffy Lube doing oil changes).
Anyways I took some pictures which are a blatant repost of mine from the Photos of your cars thread.

I know alot of things, what a "split loom" is, is not one of them. And yeah, I need to do some organizing.
:suicide:
This a split loom:

It's basically just for putting loose wires in so they don't look like the mess in your engine bay.
Clutch, I didn't notice your post, I'll go grab a pic right away.
