WHAT YOU CHEATED Using a fuken hole locator / stud thingy ma bob that makes your life easier!
What can I say, I like the easy route. I even used a floor jack instead of lifting it by hand
Hey guys, on the Triumph, the floor pans have major rot (~60%) all the way through them. I want to just patch them because holy shit new floor pans all the way around is expensive, and i'm considering welding some patches with sheet metal, but do you guys have any alternative ideas? I've heard some people do fiberglass patches but I don't know if that'd be a good idea.
Made some progress taking the mower apart; now I'm unsure as to if i want to make a mini bike or a go-kart. I feel like the bike would be lighter and thus faster and probably more fun if i can make a non-sodomy suspension seat for it. That's a vertical shaft engine, your going to have a hard time getting that to work on any kind of mini bike or go-kart unless you've got some kind of transmission. You can't run them sidways because they rely on the oil being at the bottom of the engine, it'd blow the engine very shortly being run sidways as you'd burn all the oil or oil starve it. You'd be better off with and edger engine of at least 3HP. You got a good engine though, those pulse jet carbs are pretty solid till the diaphragm fuel pump shits out. If you want to build something to goof off with using a vert shaft, you would be better off starting with an old rider mower and changing the transmissions input pulley to one thats half sized, you'd lose torque but top speed would go up a good bit. Not a ton though because the way they're geared.
Tried to investigate my turn signal issue today. The daytime running lamp module does not want to let the plugs go. Fucking hell GM.

I don't think it'd be hard to go out and get some floor pans off a non-rusted triumph though.
Swapped my stock headunit yesterday. About time. Kenwood BT318u with a Gmos-04 because monsoon, darned expensive adapter. [t]http://i.imgur.com/SLAKWVP.jpg?1[/t]
They're pretty hard to find around here, and even then the closest scrapyard is an hour away. NY problems :c
I'd just bend some 1/8" steel to fit and then use seam sealer to make it a little tougher, carpet, and forget about it.
Doge Ram for this DDIN, Backup camera, and alll that deadening. About 16 hours of work, overall. Worked really good.. planning on doing this from now on!! Comin in for a different backup cam next week (this one was 2 years old and kinda cruddy), and Pioneer A series 6x9s For future ref.... 1/2" Dynaliner is HARD to fit behind door panels. It sucked, lol. We used a ghetto app on my Ipod to measure freeway ambient noise and stuff to compare before and after.. Seemed to be about 3-5 dB lower overall.. idle, freeway, etc. For the price of all the material overall ambient noise didn't drop a whole ton. However, with the roof done the rain noise is all but gone entirely. Very nice there. Doors are very good now, and the stock speakers are much more efficient. Opening the door and listening to the engine idle, then closing the door is like night and day overall. The main ambient noise now that I notice is through the firewall; which would be a whole nother animal to tame. Probably would need to do the hood and the engine bay/ firewall with the dash removed. Also a little overall road noise, so perhaps wheel wells with LizardSkin bush on stuff and through the windows.
So here's 9005 highbeam bulbs modded for 9006 lowbeam housings V2. I finally got my damn headlights, fuck you Amazon and your 2 week("7 days hurr") free shipping. Ordered 2 Hella 9005 Long Life bulbs and a Mediabridge Aux cable which is actually a incredibly nice piece with super thick shielding and metal ends. Came in a box and has rubber condoms over the jacks. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-06-21%2019.20.00.jpg[/t] Only mod you need to do to fit them in a lowbeam housing is to trim the top tab, simply snip it down slightly with dikes/sidecutters. Left is unmodded, right is modded. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-06-21%2019.30.18.jpg[/t] Source some generic 9005 extenders or modify some 9006 ones from shitty egay HID kits. All you have to do is grind out the channel to widen it with a Dremel or similar. I used a $8 Harbor Freight special with the little cutter disks. You could also make your own of course. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-06-21%2019.52.34.jpg[/t] Plug it in to the light and possibly modify this other end as cheap chinese ones are often too wide to fit into stock plug. I had to trim off a bump off one side since it had one on each side. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-06-21%2019.53.43.jpg[/t] Now you're already done, enjoy your 150-180% brighter lights with like 1/2 the life that works perfect with any stock wiring. They generate a bit more heat though, if your headlights are very incredibly expensive or rare I might pass on this if they aren't designed well.
Replaced the rocker cover gasket on my car. Yea the valve cover isnt straight anymore that is also why i've used liquid gasket. I will check tomorrow if it will leak again
After about a weeks worth of prepping I finaly started painting the interior, this is just the first layer. I'll be doing 3 of 4 layers depending on how it turns out. Pretty happy with the overall look thus far since I'm a complete tool with anything paint related :v:
What color are you gonna paint it?

Threw in a new filter and 8.5 quarts of 10W-40 in and called it a day last week, but now the sunroof is stuck open...
[t]http://i.imgur.com/UZeNSrP.jpg[/t] Finalized hood pin install with rivets. Drilling through several layers of alloy isn't easy [t]http://i.imgur.com/88jS76H.jpg?1[/t] Installed new weatherstripping today too. Butyl sealant and we're golden
I replaced the valve cover gasket on my 330Ci on sunday, then on Monday I found out that something went wrong because white smoke started to burst out from under the hood. Turns out I missed some oil on the heatshield when I cleaned the area off. :v:
Drained some coolant from the bike in a pretty imaginative way, [t]https://scontent-a-cdg.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t1.0-9/10354133_10203016038536184_3850679951429434285_n.jpg[/t] and changed the thermostat. Pilot bushing is in! was really nervous it wasn't installed all the way but i googled some shit and then measured many things about 500 times and determined it is in far enough; though I'm going to hit it a bit more later to see if i can get her flush. now im on my way to crv-bros to weld up a siq ashtray because i get distracted easily.

Or are you putting the panels back?
Nah, Most likely just gonna put some alu plates over it or cover it with some sort of cloth.
Bushing is in, flywheel is on and torqued to spec; pressure plate and clutch are installed, p-plate torqued to spec. I love when that ONE tiny thing holds you up. (god damn bushing) also made an ashtray two honda civic brake rotors, a 242 input gear, and 2 random nuts welded together to make this strange thing.
240's coming along nicely. Cleaned and painted the wheels, the black looks 100x better than the rust from before. Changed the oil this morning, unfucked the front spoiler, and vacuumed everything. Still a bunch more to do, desperately needs new motor and tranny mounts, the exhaust is pretty bad, and the gas gauge doesn't work. Other than that, the worst rust it even has on it is the surface rust on the door. For $600, I'd say it's not too bad.
Trans mount isnt too bad, motor mounts suck on these cars though. DONT EVER buy aftermarket mounts, you will get 1 month out of them if you are lucky. Right now I am running OEM diesel mounts (from IPD) and a heavy duty trans mount, holds up very well.
'Find out why the trailer plug park lights aren't working on this Pootrol' I do the usual checks like making sure the park lights on the car work and checking for power for other lights at the plug Then I follow trailer plug harness back... [t]http://i.imgur.com/ohyBKwS.jpg[/t] Then it turns out that was only part of the problem! The park light wire was never wired into the plug! (yet it was scotch-locked in the pic) Sure enough after I attach the parklight wire, the scotch lock for the brake lights gives way If you're dumb enough to use scotch locks, you deserve all the electrical problems you can get.
Today/this evening/and tonight me and a buddy did the upper ball joints on my '06 Colorado, along with the Rack & Pinion because I've been given 2 defective ones straight from the box before hand. Third seems to be holding up better so far though, Just gotta get it re-aligned tomorrow. Overall I'd say she's coming along nicely.
