I was turning it around, and managed to stall it, when I started it up the fuel gauge went way over full, when I turned it off it went back to where it was supposed to be, it fixed itself after the second off/on cycle, though :(
Relocated my battery to the boot today. I can now put groceries in my engine bay.
What's the top left gauge?
Turbo pressure
Well the temperature gauge permanently reads maximum hot (even when the car is off and the battery is unplugged), so I assume its got to be a busted sensor or it would have changed when the car turns off or when the battery is unplugged. As for the rest of my gauges, my fuel sensor is loose so it bounces constantly, but it does give a decently accurate reading when the car is stationary; the oil pressure gauge is totally fucked to the point where it constantly moves to wherever the fuck it feels like; but at least the speedo and tach work properly.
The gauge motors in GMs were pretty shitty, you can search eBay for x27 168 for replacements. They're not too difficult to fix, I replaced mine when I had the cluster open to do an LED conversion. It does require soldering and I would recommend getting a desoldering pump if you don't already have one.

That must be one tiny radiator. It looks like it is air cooled until you look closer and see the coolant tank on top.
sir I have lost my radiator please help [t]http://i.imgur.com/BbN72Iy.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/92ZVAbL.jpg[/t] also featured is my oil filter

I got a working prototype of my GSM remote starter done using my old Galaxy Nexus.

Painted the VC today and changed the pcv hose, I like how it turned out Beforeish [t]http://i.imgur.com/vgw7nNf.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/gm1ig46.jpg[/t] also installed these adjustable tension rods the other day [t]http://i.imgur.com/cRYHk6c.jpg[/t]
Today I had an itch to do something for the MR2 while I wait for my new parts. It's original color is red, this is how it is when I got it. The previous owner painted it with flat black primer: [t]http://i.imgur.com/b6mpIZ1.jpg[/t] During prep: [t]http://i.imgur.com/W39e7Cw.jpg[/t] What I did today (first base coat, heavy WIP. Going to need a few more coats.): [t]http://i.imgur.com/6m3715b.jpg[/t] Shit picture. This paintjob's total cost is $18, with enough materials for another 10 more coats or more. I have a gallon of the enamel paint - which i'm rolling on with a paint roller. It looks fantastic in person. It has imperfections, but they will be gone by the time i'm done. [editline]28th September 2014[/editline] The $18 was for materials like mineral spirits and stuff, and it turns out that we already have that stuff at the house and I could have saved myself $18 :v:
How difficult is doing that sort of paint job and what will the durability be like? My dad's 10 year old Audi A4 had the shittiest bodywork done a few years back and now it's pretty rough. I don't have a recent picture, though a few months ago it looked like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/PfrJ2gF.jpg[/t] Now a good third of the hood is peeling, it's like his car has bad dandruff at this point. If we could do an acceptable job in the driveway, he'd probably save a lot of money. ....And if it's cheap, I'm tempted to give it a shot on the Cavalier if I decide to replace the rusty fenders or not.
It's crazy easy, I guess if you do it right (sand and prime, and then wetsand every few coats, and then finally polish and wax and everything) it lasts at LEAST a few years. Even more if you get a certain type of paint with hardener or whatever.
I did the unthinkable and bought an ebay bov because the forge twin piston likes to stall once in a blue moon. But here is the fun part, i'm going to recirculate the ebay type rs i'm getting and of course take it apart completely and service it. Along with the Ebay bov, I bought some new t bolt clamps, an intake hose with a recirc fitting on and some new couplers. #Fixxfestprep Black headliner bits and repainted grab handles, they were shitty... Also cleaned headliner. [t]http://i.imgur.com/KTBcrRA.jpg[/t] Made some custom brackets that turned out rather well for my oil cooler. Made them with tin snips and the cover of an old computer tower.
These are features to keep you on your feet to maintain your vehicle, it was a selling point from GM!
I want to get this 3D printed in chrome and put it on my car in like 30 different places, ESPECIALLY on the fucking hatch pull down motor. Because hey, having a hatch that closes normally is just too boring, so lets create a motorized hatch that goes up and down really slowly and is easy to break! Then I can use the car's BUILT-IN FLASHLIGHT to point it at the chrome and blind myself anytime I decide to work on any of the really stupid 80's "features".
The gauge motors in GMs were pretty shitty, you can search eBay for x27 168 for replacements. While I do have a soldering iron I've got very little practice with it and have nothing in my toolbin that sounds anywhere near as cool as a desoldering pump. I'm probably just gonna leave the gauges alone for awhile, as most of them don't really influence the car's operation and will all probably be too expensive/annoying to fix on a whim. I couldn't tell you for sure, though I also saw my temperature gauge go way further than it should when I didn't solder one of the legs in quite right. It was kind of funny except for the fact that I had to take apart the dash again.

What are the chances of it looking 'decent' on a first try? Also what does rustoleum mean anyway?
It's a petroleum based anti-rust solution. Mostly it's a brand name, though, like BMW or SAAB, and they now do much more than just anti-rust.
Also will this only work on metal? Because I have polyester body parts on my E36
