Hey cube, do you have 4 wheel ABS?
was it the right part number or? I've had this occur on numerous occasions with my Challenger. I give them a number and i get the wrong parts specifically on my fucking brake pads
I've gotten parts that don't fit when providing the dealer with my engine number. You'd think it'd be impossible, but I guess it isn't. They somehow figured out which part I actually needed on their own, though.
275 is for WIMPS, go 295+

Go take 700's from a forest machine
I was tired of the binding up in my transmission when shifting gears after the car has been running for a while. I removed the rubber bushings in the shifter assembly and replaced them with aluminum ones. Car goes into gear every time now, no missed shifts!

[editline]2nd October 2014[/editline]
and this is after putting in a new ignition switch and starter relay
[editline]2nd October 2014[/editline]
Thank god I keep finding parts (that are known good or new) for cheap with coupons and stuff
You might want to look up that specific issue, my Camaro's choke light doubles as a warning light for a dead alternator, and that wasn't mentioned anywhere ever.
What's perplexing is that when turning it to start, the radio dies like it should while the power is supposed to be concentrated at the starter, but of course the starter doesn't crank, but cranks when I jump the solenoid.
Somewhere, there must be a bad connection I suppose
[editline]2nd October 2014[/editline]
What's odd is that it didn't do that before, either, and i'm sure I checked all of the grounds and cleaned them all up but I guess I have to do more investigating, back to square 1 :c
Edit:
Upon looking at some wiring diagrams, a lot of things depend on the main engine relay, including the starter and I think the battery light and alternator is somewhere down there.
Maybe if i'm lucky, a bad main relay is the cause. I'll have to attempt to test it tomorrow.
Has that thing ever started?
The PO must have been happy to get rid of that piece of junk.
When he gets it running, he'll have an MR2, instead of a Camry.

Close your fucking door! Sounds and looks like you've either wired the ignition wrong, or it's got a dead relay.
Now that I'm finally starting to feel better and can actually breath normally I decided to buy some felt and start trying to tackle my cargo cover restoration.
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-09-10%2019.33.53.jpg[/t]
I have the front piece wrapped now and I trimmed and worked out the corners so they folded through smooth. Now I have to tackle the hard part which will be fixing the rear piece with the indent tray in it in it and figure out a way to smoothly mount 5"(?) speakers and wrap over with felt so everything looks good. I'm planning to re-lay the bottom of the tray with a piece of plywood so that I have a real bottom to it and can avoid from further hacking up the cover.
I'm still really unsure how to do this since after I lay the felt the speaker covers I have won't fit into the tray any longer. I'm thinking of making two spacers to go on each side of the speaker to bring the speaker level with the upper part of the cover so that the cover can screw in flater to the top of the tray. However, I'm also just considering hacking up my cargo trays instead but I'm unaware of any decent ways I can do this without making it look like a hack job. I already have some 5" or 5 1/2" speakers but if I go the cargo tray route I'll need 6 1/2" speakers and some sort of spacer basket. If I go the cargo tray route I won't ever have to unplug them either but then I'll have to hack up my rather nice plastic cargo trays. I have a few days to think about this still before I just hack at it.
Here's basically the parts I'm dealing with.
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-09-02%2016.09.58.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-09-02%2016.10.06.jpg[/t]
I'm thinking that finding some sort of speaker basket to screw over the trays would probably be the best option at this point but I honestly have no idea.
I finished the cargo cover last week, I'm still wheezing and coughing at night but I feel normal during the day again for the first time since mid-August.
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-09-11%2011.51.46.jpg[/t]

[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/2014-09-23%2013.35.38.jpg[/t]
The cargo cover doesn't fit properly now though, I'm gonna have to replace the front piece's pegs with hinges onto the rear piece so it doesn't pry against the other trying to flip up and break the stock plastic holders. I spent $3 on felt and $7 on spray adhesive, the bottom of the tray piece is now cardboard from a large box spray adhesive'd in. So I now have a brand new looking cargo cover for $10, clean cargo covers(mine is far from it still) go for $70-100 and I paid $60 for it along a cluster with a tach which generally go for 40-50.
I decided to go against the speakers, honestly I couldn't care enough to run speakers since they'll look like shit and I can't use my free ones. The car is loud as shit anyways, I'll just get a sub for it at some point.

Yeah that's what I was thinking lol, but anyway it has a valid inspection until May 2015 so I guess all of this is recent.
He said he was going to fix it and repaint it but he bought a 2nd gen MR2 (which I saw and I have to say, i'd sell the AW11 too if I bought that, it was a beautiful car.)

After watching that video, my 85 supra did the same shit. Just would not start and I couldn't figure out why. Then I pulled the stereo out to sell it and suddenly it would start when I turned the key. No idea what the problem really was lol
[editline]2nd October 2014[/editline]
I sold it to my brother who put a new stereo in, not without great difficulty seeing as the asshole PO hacked the stereo harness to fucking pieces. It never worked right with the stereo in for the longest time, the stereo wouldn't hold its memory presets, and turning on the headlights turned off the stereo. Eventually he sorted out that problem, but I pulled out the stereo when I bought it back from him. :v:

honda codes the ignition to the stereo to prevent theft
if you or someone else has installed a shitty aftermarket stereo you can't start the car
that is one of the many reasons why i dislike most japanese cars
their anti-theft systems are fucking jokes
It worked fine with the stereo in the car, until I blew up the clutch slave cylinder and it sat for 3 weeks till I could replace it. Then it would not start for anything.

like I said - it was coded to the radio
when the car lost power (from sitting for 3 weeks) the radio lost it's memory
then no start-o
Huh
That kind of pisses me off

i drive bmw
no removing head unit for meeeee
Finally got remote start working on my challenger. 08 owners only need a hood pin switch and key fob (With a remote start button) to make this work.
1. Install hood pin switch
2. Program keyfob to the car/win module
3. program sales code xbm to the car via starscan.
Gave the part numbers i needed to white plains, went the day they got them. Wrong part numbers they ordered and the keyfob wouldn't program to my car. They decided they thought some other keyfob for chargers/rams would work and ordered that one instead of the number i gave them. No big deal came back the next day.
Then White plains stated that i needed a new win module and it would cost me around 400 give or take plus tax. They said that they did EVERYTHING right and when i showed them in the install they said "we know what we're doing" and said we can have it here tommorow. I declined and just paid for the programming and keyfob.
Called Westbury in LI and took my car there, less then an hour they figured out white plains installed the hood pin switch wrong, wasn't activated properly in starscan. then they didn't program the sales code xbm for remote start right either. Didn't charge me a dime even after i approved a diagnostic fee and asked to pay something.
Remote start for the winter now YEAHHHH
Told me if white plains installed that win module it wouldn't have changed anything.
tfw car's too short to have all four arms under.

Peekaboo!
Took me a while to find that oil filter...
[t]http://puu.sh/bWAj7.jpg[/t]
Bet you haven't seen a timing belt in a wheel well before
I noticed my muffler had a hole (actually several) in the end pipe (it's one big part) and I called Subaru to check the price on a new muffler. $1240 for one muffler. Then I went online and found another brand new one for $228 with rubber mounts and seal. Then I saw I have a small oil leak around the rear left drive shafts so I have to change the rubber seal there. Gotta call Subaru tomorrow and order one. After the muffler and rubber seal around the drive shaft has been changed, I'll get it inspected (MOT'd)

pro lifting
I realize the post might make it seem like it fell down, but no, we intentionally only lifted the back :v:
Its not like there's anything in the front anyways :v:

But would't that cause stress to the lift?
Like attempting to lean it....
It's screw operated, not chain, so it doesn't make any difference really

that is incorrect. The radio is coded so that if the power is ever removed from it you need a code for it to work correctly again.
There's very very few cars that won't start with the radio removed... there's a couple Saabs, a couple older Porsches... and that's all I can think of. They're not as integrated as one might think.
