U guys are silly. I did not buy a compressor, I bought a condenser. Just ran to the auto salvage to pull a compressor off a 01 VW Passat with a 2.8L Some times I fucking love VW / Audi for having the same shit. [editline]fkgnfg[/editline] I kinda loled at when I saw the manufacture "Desno" I was expecting bosch or something.
Denso usually makes great parts. Also, it is basically a compressor. It compresses the freon.
Denso makes a lot of the stuff found in my civic's engine bay.
Flooded the 7, bloody M60's. Has a rough start on the first start of the day and this one time I forgot to tap the throttle once, it stalled and flooded. Got to get this shit sorted out, it's the one remaining item of maintenance that's driving me nuts and I can't diagnose it for the life of me. I think either leaky injectors might be leaving some fuel in the cylinders overnight making it hard to build up a stable rpm, or... buggered if I know. There's not much left on the engine for me to repair or replace at this stage :P
if it is leaving gas in your cyc it will seap past the rings and into the oil. smell your oil.
Denso makes a lot of the stuff found in my civic's engine bay.
Denso literally makes just about every sensor in a Honda's engine bay, it's like Bosche to german cars. From what I understand they make a lot of the A/C compressors in most cars.
Welp got my new condenser on after afew bends it was a exact replacement. But after I took it to the shop to have it vacuumed and refilled they said the compressor would not come on. Braught it back home and started to fiddle with it. The Compressor IS getting 12v power and the inner clutch is NOT moving. Soooo I dicked around with it the inner part was frozen solid did some "Ima make you spin u cunt" to it and now the clutch spins freely also but still it wont engage. For reference Outer pulley were the belt rides and the inner thing both move freely both directions.
Test the 2 points on the compressor, it's an electromagnet so if the coil goes, no A/C. Look up what the ohms should be and if it's significantly low or nil, replace the coil if you know how to dismantle the clutch, otherwise just replace the whole thing. They are a pain in the ass to take apart if they've been sitting or rusty. PB blaster will help in any case. #PBblasterCureAll Also, check and see if your compressor has a pressure switch on it, if it does test it too, because if it has gone out the clutch won't engage. Theres usually 2 switches, in some rare cases it is hidden on it.

I will test the coil once I get the damn thing off. I got pissed crawling under it and having to have weird ass elbows n shit. Did I mention I have to remove the Oil filter in order to get to one of the bolts? fml.
Ordered a 98-01 electric fan (pulls more air), new fan relay, and a new fan sensor (temp plug in radiator) As of yesterday my electric fan decided not to come on, unless switched on by the AC switch, so i figure it's time to upgrade.
Me and my dad had a go at cleaning the EGR of our 1.9 Astra CDTI. The engine managment light had come on and the car had fuck all power in the lower revs. Was good fun cleaning it and stuff but it's still knackered :(
Cleaned out an area for my first real toolbox. Nothing special but it'll do
It's a opel, can't make it good
We took it down the motorway in 4th gear for a while and that's cleared it out nicely. It's so good to have all the low-rev power back! It's a nice car to be honest, you can probably get far better for the money but it certainly has a kick to it. Bloody Vauxhall dealership were no use though!
Oops
FFS, there is ALWAY something preventing me from enjoying a nice drive in my poopra. -Transmission rebuild has been a nightmare -Oil seal fucked up -Oil B/O -Finally change oil seal -Igniter plug fubar, fixed it -Battery lost all it's charge because I forgot a light on, charged it -Car is perfect -Fucking work accident my left calf is fucked and I can't put any weight on it (read: How do I clutch nao). Two weeks in the life of a poopra owner.
Oops
Did you mis-spray? I have always painted motors with Oil Based enamel and it works out easy. One coat and done. What happened? [editline]20th April 2013[/editline] Thank you old owner, for being so lazy. The old dash trim was removed at some point, then owner decided to just drill holes from the front and attach with drywall screws - like a genious. So I had to make a mess. Oh well. Mess somewhat cleaned... Had two tire pressure gauges, one a stick style and one a stick style that goes on an air compressor. On a front tire, stick reads 36, air stick reads 40. Back tire, stick is 34 and air stick is 38. Went and bought a Slime brand round style gauge, 5-60psi range. As soon as i got home, tires hot, the old stick read 34/32 and the round read 36/34. Let them cool a few hours, now both read the same at about 35/33. I aired my tires up to 38/36, using the round gauge. At that psi, the air stick reads 42/40. No idea what psi is right, but i like the round gauge the most. In other news, my air compresser ran low on oil and shut off after airing up one tire. Managed to add the right air to 3 tires on the reserve air
half tore down an oldsmobile quad 4 today to build a new POWAFULL engine for neighbor's midget, doing rest tomorrow. No pics of engine but I have pics of the shop in which we did work, chock full o' midgets. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36648657/2013-04-20%2019.26.17.jpg[/t]

Isn't 38 psi a bit high for cold temp? I know when they get hot it can increase 6-10 psi.
Did you mis-spray? I have always painted motors with Oil Based enamel and it works out easy. One coat and done. What happened?
Pretty much sprayed over dirt + grease. Brushed it all off, need to respray

Most electronics I've left in there that had batteries died pretty quick in the winter, so I didn't want to risk it dying when I needed it the most. 38 is a bit high, 6psi higher than what my door says to run, but I'm running a set of snow tires that have a fairly soft sidewall. Running them at 32 front/29 rear makes them feel a bit soft in corners. My old Kumho's felt good at 34/32, but these ones still didn't feel quite right at that. I've found that 38/36 seems to be pretty decent. The tires have a max pressure of 45psi if i remember correctly, so I think I'm safe.

Then clean off the motor a bit with a degreaser. The oil based paint will thin out on the motor, and you can do a really nice brush job easily on that textured block. It will also come out glossy with minimal effort. You can probably find the color your using in Duplicolor or Rustoleum.

I told my friend we should probably get a sanding disk and go over it three times first. So much dust/dirt/oil. I bathed it in brake cleaner and it seems to be clean now. Going to go over it again soon. I guess I'm going to use up my Koyorad and install it tomorrow morning. I hate decaying parts. If one fails the rest fails
Cleaned garage today (dart dust EVERYWHERE) and began assemblying 5x10 cnc burntable (shits pimp). We also finally replaced Wobbly Bob the drill press from 1976!!I cant believe my dad used it for so long, built the barracuda with it and a million other things, might keep it around. ^diy pro right there. I still cant get over how you've made a rotisserie
Ditto via sHiBaN, pro sauce body stand right there.

Pulled the spark plugs out of the 7 yesterday... Bosch. Will be replacing them with NGK's it seems once the car is running again (flooded still). Normally spark plugs are a 10 minute job, but I installed new coil boots recently and they seal SO WELL and were so unimaginably strongly fused to the spark plugs, they just popped right out of the ignition coils. I had to get funky with some pliers and duct tape to get them out, and in the process literally stripped my hands of any skin I had left. Picked up 10L of 5w-30, oil pan gasket, and prepped the replacement injectors. Next weekend the car gets a mighty fine tune up. It must be love.
