This job could be done in 30 minutes if the fan and belt werent a bitch.
wired up my coolant temp sensor back into the harness because the previous owner didnt do it... now I have a temp gauge ant it runs a little bit better cold, now I THINK I just have to fix a vacuum leak, and install the new chain tensioner when it comes in the mail and the s13 will be road worthyish again. Then 5 lug swap fun and hopefully making it out to the track.
gee those older style water pumps sound like cunts, I guess I'm lucky that the majority of water pumps I replace (2006-onwards for v6 commodores) can be busted out in 10 minutes
Yesterday I changed my rocker cover gasket on the Pulsar. the old cork gasket had been leaking since I got the car, but it was only recently that I got sick of the burning oil smell whenever I'm on the freeway (or doing a burnout)

When you pop the water pump off you drain out most of what's in the engine, if you just do hoses or a radiator you never quite get what's in the motor still. That's why you have to flush the cooling system since just draining it is far from all of it.
[editline]1st November 2014[/editline]
I just drain coolant out in the gravel area at my house. It's too much of a chore to try to collect it all and it's 50% water anyways. I'll just hose it down really good afterwards.

Didnt flush since all the fluid was less than 10 days old. I put a total of 3 gallons in within a week, more within the 10 days. All the fluid was nominal. I'm not too concerned about old fluid being in it.

I got animals and and lots of small kids that live near me. Cant do that. All spilled fluid was soaked up with towels and then cat litter was put down. In the spring we'll treat the driveway, cleaning off all the oil stains, etc.
I run 75/25 instead of 50/50 because of how cold it gets where I am.

They really aren't, as long as you have the right tools. And the water pump on a gm V engine is far easier then most other I've worked on (minus the 70's 301 odd block with it's combo water pump/ timing chain cover), far more so then jap or euro cars/trucks, and most other domestics even.

Acording to Wiki: "...a mixture of 60% ethylene glycol and 40% water freezes at −45 °C (−49 °F)..."
So you have that down, but come to think of it, even though Fl doesn't get that cold I may want to throw some antifreeze in my car in case of a freeze warning. Though not often in the slightest, they do happen and this year I think there may be a ninja freeze.
[sp]been running straight water 2 years, sue me[/sp]
Run straight dex-cool.
So for the last 20,000 miles or so my car has had this shudder assume coming from the transmission. It only starts shuttering when the MDS engages (2007 Dodge Charger R/T Pursuit), which makes the torque converter lockup for better MPG and stuff. Well, it felt like it was having a hard time coming out of gear smoothly when downshifting at roughly 1200 RPM.
I found this thread: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php/280474-A-fix-for-transmission-shudder
Preceded to defecate in my pants from joy!
So I poured about 2oz of this in the tranny:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/GPTGFFG.jpg[/t]
MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE. Like night and day. Today I poured the last two ounces in and it's virtually gone, like, 99.99% gone. I'm amazed. I was on the verge of rebuilding the transmission and putting a new torque converter in. A $8 fix saves the day!
Guys. I have a 03 civic si hatchback that need a radiator support. Will a non hatch back civic radiator support fit?
Most likely, yes.
Thanks man <3

If it's the same year, the front clip might all be the same, therfor the parts will interchange.
Also, unrelated -the gopro takes some neat looking stills. Better than my phone I've been using...

EP3? No, the entire front end is nothing like a EM2 or ES1.
Your best bet sadly due to low availability would be to order one from Honda if you want it promptly at all.

is the only piece I need, also I found out that one of my friends uncle owns a body shop and he has a EP3 anyways. So it's all good now. Was going to order one off a non hatch off ebay that looked like the same thing for 100$ less, but now it's all good! Civic should be up and running next month!
As long as it's from an EP3 or specs for "60400-S5T-G01ZZ" it'll work. The part number code for the EP3 would be S5T so anything with S5T in the part number is for your chassis as well. Honda likes to supersede parts, the part number seems to replace 60400-S5T-A00ZZ and 60400-S5T-G00ZZ too.
I've always liked the EP3, it's just a shame it got the most worthless K series lump ever made.. There's a ton of ITR/CTR parts which interchange on those cars too so you have awesome opportunities to pick up wonderful parts that are imported for dirt cheap. I got my ITR struts for $200 and honestly compared to anything else aftermarket it's impossible to beat for a still comfortable sporty DD. Honda knows how to make and setup a damn good car, they just water them down a ton for the normal consumer.
The Eagle Talon got some love today; moved the boost gauge from the top of the steering column to a gauge pillar we scored for free, and also added an oil pressure gauge. Wired the junk up so they actually light/dim with the dash lights like they should.
Poked around the engine bay a bit, enjoyed the excess of puking oil everywhere.. pretty nasty. The oil pan bolts were like.. finger tight :/ Cranked those down a little and looks like the next annoying thing to deal with is the oil feed line to the turbo where it meets the head. Looks pretty leaky.. banjo bolts, ya know. Turbo has to come out for that to be fixed, though. Moar and moar things to do before winter..
The U-joints and silicone'd carrier bearings on the driveshaft took care of the drive-line vibration, though!! That's neat. Did those dam U joints in the living room with a hammer at midnight on saturday.

also found coilovers for the e36 and more jdm tail lights I need to buy :c
So I decided to finally change my oil, as it's 10k overdue (I think, prolly 8k) and also broke down and got a Spectre filter for my CAI.

And as it would turn out, it's good that I did because this happened.

Dried out and falling apart, I band-aided it awhile back because it split on the side on one of the ribs with some electrical tape. Had to, no place but Honda has that part and it's no where near cheap.
Now I'm just waiting on my engine to cool enough I don't burn myself when I do the oil change.
Did all the winter nonsense.. stabil in the gas, drier sheets in the interior for mice, pulled the battery, and finally put the car cover on the Buick. Insurance goes off tomorrow.. bleh, winter. Did the same thing with my motorcycle, and put a little stabil in the gas of the lawnmower, too. :(
Did the rear brakes in my new winter car project...the Alero.

Pads were sticking this was sitting for about 2-3 years, just sand blasted the caliper brackets and put new pads in. Rotors should be good I'm not worried about it since it's my beater car. Just need to put a fuel fill pipe in, an exhaust and fix some pockets on the frame rain (on the unibody) and it should be ready too go! All together I'll have about $600 into this car!
GF's '98 chrysler SeBROKE again alternator pulley seized up the alternator was only held on by the top bolt. As far as I can tell whoever replaced it last dropped the bottom bolt while putting it back in cause it's in a shit place (the bolt head comes out on the side closest to the engine between the oil filter and the back of the AC compressor.) They left it wedged between the alternator and the lower mount point and just tightened the fuck out of the top mount bolt It took a 5ft cheater bar and me hanging on it like a fucking monkey to break it loose. On the plus side she has a shiny new alternator drive belt and idler pulley
Next on the list is to fix the fuckery done to the electrical system...The radio was wired to the door lock circuit instead of a 12v switched circuit so she has to pull/replace the door lock fuse every time she gets in/out of the car
Decided to get in la audi and take her for a cruise to get her joints loosened up after sitting for almost 2 weeks now. Her batt was dead so I jumped her off using a deep cycle I had laying in front of my trailer.
Cranked her and a cloud of smoke greeted me, she was happy to see me.
Then I did a 0-100-0 because lolwhythefucknot.
I miss her, I felt like a king in the driver seat. Relaxed, ride is so soft.

My dad is willing to part with that A6 if you want the whole shebang. I gave him the car and he's done nothing with it for this long and I don't think he ever will. He believes it will go to someone who "really likes Audi's and is an Audi enthusiast and will pay me for the fact that it's a nice body." ok dad. If you want it I can pull a reasonable price from him so he feels like he got his "deal" but it'd have to be towed unfortunately. Offer's there. He'd probably be upset if I took parts off it because he wants it to be put to better use... lol...

If... just if... it has a DPT trans... I'd buy the trans (ship it to me), and once I have it and I ride the grave train like next summer or w.e I will come and part the vehicle out and leave you with a nice shell to take to the scrap yard.
Either way I go I'm looking at about 700$ to come to and back in gas.... If I take a car hauler and a truck to go get it as a whole I'm looking up to 900$ in fuel. It's about 1,200$ to get it shipped via a 18 wheeler.
And I know about.... what the audi is worth... ~2k if interior is 9/10...
Really I don't see you making any money off this...
For me its all parts... The real winner is if its a DPT transmission... and what price you want for it...
Or I can get a trans from craigslist for 550$ :>

Yeah, it may not be beneficial because he assumes he'll get $800 out of the whole car, but it seems it would cost way more to come get it. The interior has been closed up for close to 6 years now, and the cupholders and some of the more flimsy parts that usually brake - are broken IIRC. It was just a thought -didn't know if you needed any more than the tranny, I'll look and see what it is. Also the interior on this is tan, and yours looks like black or gray.
I'll see if I can ID the transmission. All I know offhand is it had the variable shift thing where you moved the shifter over and it had a + / - variable.
Did some welding today.
Last time I did was about 4-5 years ago, on a trailer frame with easy access.
Today, it was on the top of my exhaust pipe while it was installed still.
I did okay. The weld looks a bit rough, but it's much better than the weld it had that failed.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the biggest leak. The biggest is at the gasket between my mid and catback, which I will likely just weld shut.
Bought some MOOG upper and lower control arms for my Charger. It's been squeaking a lot from the front suspension. It's probably because all of the bushings are warn out, irregardless of what it was I decided it was time to put new arms on. $220 from Rock Auto.

Your right. I disliked it because it was a sedan and got rid of it and kept her engine and trans.
