I decided that having WRX STI seats in a Dart would be cool also, so I threw some raw meat in the cab of the car, then allowed a giant bear to go get eat it. In the process he clawed most of the seat fabric off. I believe I am halfway done removing the seats now. I bench pressed the bear, then gave him some beef jerky and told him to be on his way. This project is going very well.
You're making good time for sure.

You can clean/oil that filter and reuse it
You can clean/oil that filter and reuse it
Or you can throw that fucker away and replace it like a real Merican!

Finished painting and clear coating the 350. Also cleaned a bunch of parts. 21 years of muck and fluid buildup...
You can clean/oil that filter and reuse it
They never get as clean as new, thats why KN air filters are such a joke to me
You painted a 350: Limelight Mopar Green?
Sweet.
But... But... The oil filter ;-;
Grabber Green so Ford actually....heres the explanation I just gave my cousin on Facebook:
I just knew there was no way in hell I was painting it orange (over used as fuck). That left red, blue, yellow and green. Red is the color of the truck, blue was used on the broncos engine, yellow IS the color of the Bronco and a cursed color as far as I'm concerned leaving green
But... But... The oil filter ;-;
just on for painting. As soon as the paint dried I tossed on a new one. promotive filters are like $1.60 for me
You left purple, pink, and white out as engine color options, and they all look badass. Trust me.
Why is aluminum/silver, black and or wrinkle paint never used on american rebuilds? Literally any motor rebuild I've ever seen pictures of is painted a bunch of ricer colors.
Aluminum paint is like a standard on Honda rebuilds, the only flare you're basically allowed to have is the valve cover which most people end up doing in wrinkle black, polished/stripped, wrinkle red, paint matched to car or spoon yellow. If you painted a motor in a Civic green, there'd be hell to be paid lol.
I can't even find pictures of randomly painted honda motors on google images :v:

You literally can't find pictures of motors painted random colors anymore, you come across some heatsheilds matching the VC but that looks fine. I tried pretty hard and I could just come up with a car with a shaved/painted engine bay.
I've always thought that when you rebuild a motor you want to make it look as new as possible, spraying the whole thing down with a color to mask it doesn't really seem like "new" to me.
Should of done blue and white stripes on the oilpan.
Didn't want purple and Advance doesn't stock pink. White just seems yucky/boring. I'm also heating my garage for $20 for about 8 hours of heat so I just wanted to paint it and be done. Was more concerned with getting as many coats down as I could to prevent rust
Just installed Wrangler duratrac 33x12.5R15 tires, and cranked up torsion bar.

Next step, 3 inch body lift. This is too tight
Rangers wheel wells always compliment big tires real nice.
Today I 'fixed' my blower motor issues by jiggling the fan speed connector.
Just in case it acts up again I have it dangling out of the dash so I can jiggle it again.
Body lifts are shit. Save up and do it right
Body lifts are shit. Save up and do it right
I second this. I had to explain to my friend why buying an s10 with a "hockey puck lift" and trying to take it on a trail was literally the stupidest thing he's done in a while the other day.

but instead wrapped in these kinds of wheels.

Im only going for a 2-3inches lift, so theres no chance for the tires to rub, nothing fancy. For like 5inch then yeah i would rather get a suspension lift.

A jeep cherokee on a truck frame. Neato
Body lift makes sense if you just need to clear larger tires.

And if you like breaking things. Its fine for a pavement pounder but I wouldn't go near off road with it
The kids at my old highschool would lift their Rangers and slap on wheels+tires that poked out a lot, so it's refreshing to see one that is a bit more practical.
Started phase 1 of sound deadening.
Even though i've just begun, I've installed more than it had from the factory.
It'll be interesting to see how it goes. I'm trying many things and will do a final report when it's done.
Also did a bit of rust repair, some from water when the seal on my taillight broke.

lol, kid at highschool here has a lowered ranger with a 12" tall spoiler
the other two are super clean though, that is if you count a b4000 as a ranger
I've been cleaning my engine bay for a while now, it's a slow and tedious job it looks so much better.

Soon I'll be doing the belts, waterpump, tensioner, filters, fluids, throttle cable & spring, thermostat, radiator fan sensor, and last but not least resealing the balance shaft body as it leaks oil way too much. Gotta find a way to work under the car properly first, as I haven't got a car lift or grease pit.
Thats a 944 isn't it?
Yep, one that hasn't been loved for a long, long time. But that time should be over now!
Well cock.
I removed the power steering pump from my E40 330Ci and cracked it open.
Fucking thing tipped over and now I'm missing 2 tiny little pieces that I'm guessing are essential to its operation.
Does anyone know of revision/repair kits for the LF 20 PS Pump for a 2000/2001 E46?

The idea for older american cars is the motors were cast iron and then painted, and usually the exhaust manifolds were on when painted, so the paint melted off those quick, then the manifolds got a rust look. So people paint them, because they were - painted.
My engine was originally red. I've been thinking about doing a nice silver for a while. I just need to find a good brushable paint that's silver.
I already did my valve cover in wrinkle black, just haven't installed it yet. Also my carb hat is wrinkle black.

Most people don't like it because it's usually a cure-all to painting something with an uneven surface that you want to hide - so someone at a car show for instance is going to assume you're lazy and just painted wrinkle black over some rusted covers.

I sandblasted both parts, painted them, then put them in the oven. They turn out better if the paint is hot. I painted one piece in the back yard and the part of it in the sun wrinkled, and the part in the shade did not. Nothing is mentioned about temperature on the can either.
I showed my dad that I can make him a boost gauge for his Dodge Spirit RT.
He really likes it so it looks like that will be his present this year.
Ain't a car, but eh, there was a good 1.5 feet snowfall today, when I tried to use my snowblower.
1- My roomie broke the pull starter, it was weak-ish already.
2- The carburator is wayyyy off, was adjusted this summer, doesn't behave the same in the cold.
3- One strap also broke in half. So I will have to buy a new one.
