you're not supposed to be reading voltages.
you adjust by rotating it and mesuring using the resistance between multiple terminals according to your repair manual. The voltage can vary depending on a fuck ton of things, a out of spec tps could still give you 0V at 0% and 5V at 100% or whatever is standard for your car but have deadspot and does not trigger a "closed state". TPS aren't a potentiometer!!
That's not totally correct, the only thing usually tested in a TPS is a variable resistor, which in short is a potentiometer. Older and honda TPS have 3 pins, more modern have 4 and a few others have 5 to 6. Those have other circuits in them for other functions.

All have a ground point while having 2 or more pins that a usually copper tab rests on. As the center turns it moves the tabs across a resistive material, increasing resistance on one pin while decreasing on the other. The picture below is the most basic, which happens to be the same as the TPS on older Hondas. Bradly can confirm that.

Finally got AutoCAD on my laptop, so I can design parts without ruining the proportions every time I take a second to breathe!

The instrument panel.
Cross-hatched circle is where the steering column goes through.

I thought that but where the gauges would go it looked like vents a little bit

They're covers for the holes where the stock gauges are.

My tps is 3 wire.
I adjusted it more today and decided to modify the mounts on it for more adjustability.
My manual says to adjust it so that with key on, voltage is between .45 and .55. After modding the mounts, I brought it down to .50. Now at idle, the voltage doesnt vary as much.
When I move the throttle threw the range, the voltage moves up consistantly but stops at 3.8 at wot, short of the 4.2 that its supposed to be.
I tested ohms, just out of curiosity. They go up consistantly until 4/5 throttle, then start dropping. Is that normal/does it mean anything?

AFIAK Honda uses the same TPS on basically every single car until they changed to drive-by-wire which after that I don't know. I'm pretty sure the B/C/D/F/H motors all use the same ones.

The TPS is basically a more fancy potentiometer in a sense. If you adjust it to lets say, .60 will it go above 3.8? If it refuses to go above 3.8 and should be at 4.2 then it's junk. I don't think testing for ohms would work like a regular pot since the wires you test are meant to read voltage.

The upper voltage moves in relation with the lower voltage. At one point, I turned the tps way up to .73 and it brought the upper voltage to near 4.0. But upon starting my car, my idle was all over the place and wouldnt settle. I dropped it back to .50 and started the car again, my idle went back to normal.
Im really not sure on the ohms thing. A few sites say you can test a tps that way, and it does somewhat make sense, but im not an expert on these things

Progress!
After I refine all the placement, draw the rest of the dash, and give everything its correct material, I'll send it to be cut out. I'm calling it a night for now, though.
The car thieves are now in my town where they were in Los Angeles before.
I need to figure out how to wire a multiple-sequence kill switch. Some 240 bros use their unused interior buttons to complete the starter circuit. Like, you'd have to click in the cruise control button, rear defogger and turn signal left in order to use the starter. etc.
What about if they tow it away or rob parts off it as it sits? No real things to prevent that other than a watchful eye or a really sensetive alarm system.

Cigarette lighter circuit complete.
Kill switch is that little cigarette butan~ being inside of the socket, put it on a lanyard and take it with you whenever you park.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I DROPPED THE COIL PACK AND IT CRACKED WHERE THE WIRES MAKE CONTACT
Karblam, I went to the junkyard and scored another coil pack
Almost got this truck running just need to plop that in there and hook up the main ground for the battery.
Went to the garage, mechanic also thinks the resistence shouldnt drop like it does. He also thinks the top voltage shouldnt be so low. So ill be going to the junkyard and testing the resistance on some tps's.
Also adjusted the stopper on one side of my hood, was too far up and making the hood stay up too far
I saw the beginnings of rust at the bottom of the Chrysler's doors, so I decided to head it off by sanding all the rust out, hitting it with rust remover, then using some rubberized undercoating on the bottoms of the doors inside and out. Luckily none of the rust got into the paint, or inside the bottom of the door. It's just at the bottom of the door, right under the door seal. Good thing I got on it without waiting for real rust to set in.
Started getting ready to replace my rear bumper beam.
Thought the easy part would be taking off the bolts, so i took off everything else first.
Then comes the bolts. First one, snapped the drive head off my breaker bar.
So ill just go to the garage tomorrow and finish that

What does it do/what difference does it make?
What does it do/what difference does it make?
Precise ignition and it "doesn't" break
Going to go megasquirt 3 it seems, one of my friend is making a jza70 pnp kit for a price I can't refuse
Washed, clay barred, and waxed the truck, then it proceeded to rain and just bead up and fall off, nice view from the window.
Replaced my rear bumper beam.
Jesus, took a good 6 hours.
Had to grind off the original bolts, other than that, things were fairly smooth.
I was able to hammer my spare tire area back into place, my spare tire finally sits in the center of the area again.
My back end is much more straight now
Changed the oil, then found out my transmission mount is from HELL
Unbolted the crossmember, tried to get the nut on the bottom of the mount, not happening. Tried to get the top one because it was easier to get to. I took a 17mm wrench, thought I finally loosened it. That fucker was round after I did that.
So now I am going to have to take it to a shop to get done. But I did get it all back together.
Replaced my reverse light bulb. Also sealed the seam at the back of my spare tire area, hopefully it works.
