This was my 'secret project' if anyone remembers that. What I did was build a turbo kit for my car, and put it on. It's been on for a few weeks now, but i've been tinkering and getting things working how they're supposed to. It's nothing super bad ass, just a poor mans turbo set up with cheap stuff, but it get's the job done. I started saving for it in November last year, and got it finished and working a few weeks ago. My friend fabricated the dump pipe and down pipe for me, as of right now it's running open dump(probably indefinitely), and there's a resonator at the end of the down pipe for some noise suppression. It's still pretty loud though, but it doesn't bother me really. I just got the resonator on a week ago, running and open downpipe was cool and all, but i felt like an asshole to all my neighbors. Here's a parts list, that i can recall. Ebay Turbo .63ar 2.5" down pipe + resonator AEM wideband gauge with Bosche sensor Prosport boost electric gauge Walbro 255lph fuel pump Acura RSX Type-S Fuel Injectors 2" Intercooler piping Godspeed front mount Godspeed 38mm RS-Series wastegate Godspeed blow off valve Godspeed turbo manifold Apexi NEO SAFC for fuel management Right now i'm only running 5-6psi to keep it safe until i get a new headgasket, head studs, and rod bolts. (plus an actual standalone ecu and a dyno tune, but that's like $1500) [t]http://imageshack.us/a/img19/8571/51l5.jpg[/t] [t]http://imageshack.us/a/img51/3269/l338.jpg[/t] [t]http://imageshack.us/a/img441/6370/inrg.jpg[/t] Engine bay needs detailing [t]http://imageshack.us/a/img13/1498/rign.jpg[/t] Here's a early test video i did with the open downpipe, when i had a boost leak. It spools up a bit quicker now, but ultimately runs a bit less boost so it's about the same. It still has some work to go, such as finishing up an intake for it, and possibly getting a muffler on it as well. All in all, i've had fun with doing it, and have fun driving it now. and of course, i owe a thanks to bradley. He was my mentor on this whole ordeal.
Let me know how long those Godspeed products last. Knowing the S-Chassis scene, not very long. Keep us posted, you've done more than what other people only dreamed of doing
Picked up a rare momo wheel for 25 euro. Momo Cavallino with button and surround. Turns out they stopped making them in 1989 and they go for $200+
Make sure you beef up the top end, My friends brother did pretty much the same to his 99 Honda civic. He only ran a couple pounds of boost, but it was enough that the engine eventually let go after less than a year. :P Looks great though, congrats.
Id like to someday turbo my Subie But not my 2.2, id need a full rebuild for that Even then, id only get 6-8psi max Im thinking a true ej22t, or ej25 turbo. Though, ill probably settle for an ej25 non-turbo. Today, i worked on the controler for my rock crawler. It was designed to self center the steering. But, if you take out a spring and an arm, it no longer self centers. Its much easier on the axles and knuckles. Couple quick pictures; [t]http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2595/p7z2.jpg[/t] [t]http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/2699/vd3u.jpg[/t] List of things to do; Beef up drivers side knuckle Do something about the cracked rim Ordered a Ford Raptor body, once its here, lots of work will be done to get it on Considering making a trailer with some parts i have, and adding dual shocks to the rear axle to help haul it
What subaru have you got? [t]http://puu.sh/3z8WD.jpg[/t] Mums... its since got coilovers Its so nice to drive.
What subaru have you got? Handles much better after. currently has a worn steering rack (original developed small amount of play, bought a rebuilt one, it has 3x as much play) Still handles pretty great though. Got some wheels from a 98 LGT waiting to go on, but ive been too sick lately to work on it
I'd swap that pink badge for a blue / black... personally.
I'd swap that pink badge for a blue / black... personally.
I originally had a black. I switched to pink because the 22b has a pink badge, and im mildly basing my car on it. I might go to another color eventually
Was my auntys farm yesterday.. she has 2 Ford Festiva / Aspires. One the old box shape, the other the weird bulge supra bubble shape Jumped in the bulge one and went hooning.. handles pretty well (no power steering)... tried to do a skid.. handbrake off, it just spins for a moment then grabs traction... handbrake off... the clutch slips.. So yeah, don't get a godspeed wastegate.

Fuck these things in particular. Fuck 'em.
fuck the guy who puts them on while he has other components removed so you cant get to them because X part is in the way
My Audi has ALL of those. I love them, kinda simpler than using a gearworm IMO just gotta get the right size. And You would't run into a issue about xyz part is in the way to remove clamp if you have weird ass bends and shapes needle noses.
The gear worm ones you can loosen then retract, with the spring ones you have to loosen and retract at the same time. In a confined space and basic tools I get suicidal. And my pliers aren't wide enough to get over the 2 tabs, which means buying a specialised tool or bigger pliers. With the others all you need is a basic screwdriver/small spanner.
Removed both turbo fuck those ct12a, the engineers @ yamaha must have been very mad at toyota's mech, it take 6-7h to get them out
Removed both turbo fuck those ct12a, the engineers @ yamaha must have been very mad at toyota's mech, it take 6-7h to get them out
Why? Replacing them with better ones hopefully, or possibly single turbo?

Started making a center console for my vic today Ill finish and upload pics tomorrow
Time for an HKS or Greddy wastegate! It really is a hit or miss with these Chinese Godspeed/etc parts
I know i'm pretty excited actually. I'm gonna be broke but i'm gonna get a TiAL F38 38mm gate. I didn't like that wastegate since day one.
I put the rear muffler back on my kadett, it's so quiet now! It's so nice.
Got 2 birds stoned at once today. fixed a problem with my spark plugs and painted the cover. [t]http://i.imgur.com/LWOQSELh.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/K451eshh.jpg[/t]

Whoever owned my car previously had a fucking talent for breaking plastic clips Annoys the piss out of me every time I see signs a trim panel has been off previously... foreshadows a thousand broken clips and a few aftermarket screws..
center consoles done [editline]11th July 2013[/editline] thats spray-on bedliner all over it
that is so rough I like it.
2.4L
Dat 2.4L Quad 4, best god damn 4 cylinder GM ever made! The 2.3 W41 Quad 4(High performance version, they had the LG0 HO and some other one, cant remember) made 190 HP with early 90s EFI, and 10.5:1 comp. In comparison, the 2.2 Ecotec made ~200 but that had 11:1, Direct injection, and a good fuel map. We run our midgets on 2.3L Quad 4s, one dude has like 230 HP, nearly 12:1 compression, W41 camshafts, and an LG0 intake. And his car is running lean as balls, shows you the potential of the engines. Thats in a cavalier, right?
