Yeah, money is just super tight right now. It's not really in the budget. I'll figure something out.
In my experience, it most certainly sounds like it. I've never worked on brakes where a stuck guide pin/slider wasn't the cause of uneven wear. So, today just as I'm getting ready to leave a friends house I go to start my car, and I might be jinxing myself, but it seemed to take a few moments longer to start and at first, wouldn't. I'm gonna check the plugs and cylinders tomorrow, also glad I got a mechanics "endoscope".
brakes on the mercedes have pistons on each side which can seize and cause uneven wear
Got something done today, wired in my 240 taillights directly to the bulb sockets instead of using the infamous circuit boards. Works better than I expected considering one side was completely dead. Never going back... Also changed the bulb configuration so that it uses the early 80s style found on 240 turbos instead of the later style.
Today I drove. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Img%20Dump/2013-08-04%2017.30.02.jpg[/t] What... what is this? [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Img%20Dump/2013-08-04%2019.55.56.jpg[/t] :'D It would have fit all the way but my back seat decided to be a asshat and the ski bag open making the case no longer slide up.
I wish I could fit a 42U rack in my car
I wish I could fit a 42U rack in my car
Hahahaha, I swear it would have fit all the way. I pulled up at the warehouse and they told me "You sure its going to fit? You can come back with a TRUCK if you want." Boy did I surprise them.
Its a fridge? :p
Close! It will be DrPepper HQ!

Interceptor badge got here, I guess the free shipping shipped over the weekend. Hey Trek, how much were those V8 badges? My flexfuel badge was removed too, so there is a big empty spot asking for a manly emblem to replace the dirty hippie treehugger emblem.

On a little more serious note, though, I could almost have my bike in the back of my mom's van, and it could still carry at least 5 people, it was just a couple centimeters too long...
I can put a scooter in the back of my car if I fold the backseats :v:

Got a clutch kit, clutch hardware and flywheel fasteners. Also acquired a Walbro 255lph with kit. Now the only thing I need would be oils and some engine paint. The build continues tomorrow morning. At least I can see my work pay off albeit in small increments
Replaced the starter in the roomies Maxima, one of the bolts that holds it also holds the tranny to the engine and was so tight I almost broke my arm breaking it loose. :/ Also helped change a fuel sending unit on a Chevy venture. It wasn't the pump that went bad, but the connector underneath the van just behind the driver that had gotten water in it and corroded the one terminal for the fuel pump, the other three (ground and 2 rheostat terminals) were fine. So I drilled a hole in the floor and bypassed the shitty plug and fixed the problem with some good ol' "I'm broke as shit" ingenuity.
I once carried EVERYTHING EVER because [t]https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/996882_199562393542486_745189105_n.jpg[/t] And I'm the only person with an 8 foot bed in my friend group.
Buy truck, suddenly everyone needs help moving.
Buy 8 foot bed, suddenly all the scrap metals you used to see on the side of the road no longer appear...
Was a surgeon for three hours for my friend's 240. Her clutch fan and fan blades were about to become dangerous shrapnel. So I gave her the fan clutch that was for my 240 and transplanted her a known good blade. Was going to change her alternator belt too but everything was just covered in shit and corroded. I ended up stripping a bolt that held in her radiator. I felt so bad. I held it together with zipties. I told her to come back tomorrow because I'm off. I need to get a jack under there and do it correctly. At least for now her fan won't kill her engine bay like it did for my girlfriend's S13. Never use fake parts really I'll say again

my dad bought a flatbed trailer in like 2002, but didnt realize the frame was rotted ($200 purchase so im p sure he made most of it back in scrap) Would a been nice to have now if he hadn't gotten rid of it but he ended up getting a dumper trailer.
removed the EGR on my friends AE86 because we broke a 70 dollar plastic connector and didnt want to replace it. So we blocked off the EGR. Woo old cars not needing emissions.
Accidentally a quad 4 because it was wimpy as shit and had no power for our purposes. [t]http://puu.sh/3WADQ.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/3WAF3.jpg[/t] Going to throw in a better one we built tomorrow night. ~11.5:1, fat cams, HO head, gonna be hella sikk.
Hey, quick question. What's your guys' opinions on doing Hot Rods/Custom cars?
Hey, quick question. What's your guys' opinions on doing Hot Rods/Custom cars?
Depends on how their done. Generally I like OEM with a hint of tastefulness. "West Coat Custom" style in a classic is frowned apon with me... But seeing a truck like this with a interior like this is just right. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Canon%20T3i/IMG_1858.JPG[/t] [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Canon%20T3i/IMG_1859.JPG[/t] And this just has character. Pretty much, keep it tasteful, and don't over do it with too many over the top decorations. Function over form for the most part. Patina on a car is cool, but so is a clean restoration.
I finally took the time to make a new hole for the thermometer in my dashboard [t]http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/ab91/jomt1234/20130808_203324_zpse8634d5f.jpg[/t] It's not the best hole, because the dremel melted the plastic instead of cutting it :v:
A while ago i had my brake caliper stick. Well, i fixed that, but my wheel was covered in brake dust. I tried the usual quick scrub with car wash/purple power, but this stuff was in deep. I ended up having to use rubbing compound to get off the majority of it, and neverdull to get the details. I didnt get it perfectly clean, you can see near the centercap where its still darker, but its so much better than before. [t]http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/7388/vyhj.jpg[/t]
