Dead On Arrival He's only running on 2/4 cylinders apparently
Ah, thanks for explaining :)
Replaced an oem spring clamp on one of my vacuum lines with a hose clamp. Was leaking a bit of oil. Added a bottle of Mystery Oil to my gas and half a bottle to my oil. Last time i did, it helped out a bit. Im 450 miles from my oil change. I also noticed my IACV is whistling, means its time to order a gasket, buy new screws/washers, and take it apart to clean it. Edit; Found a service bulletin from Subaru on cleaning it without taking it off. Basically, take filter box off, rev car to 1500ish rpms, and spray carb cleaner at it over and over. At the end i listened, i didnt hear the whistle. But its hard to tell how clean i got it. Ill probably do it again before I change my oil.
I received my cooling system overhaul parts a few days ago... as well as a few suspension mounting parts. So I replaced Idle Pulley, Deflection Pulley Tensioner and AC Idle Tensioner as well as the Power Steer Pump -> Water Pump -> Alternator serpentine belt. Went ahead and replaced the Water Pump, Themostat, and Coolant Expansion Tank. Then finished bleeding the whole cooling system. Also went ahead and cleaned Throttle Body EDK, Idle Control Valve and Intake Boot. Also my suspension upgrade has arrived. Ordered from TurnerMotorsports some Bilstein Sport Struts and Shocks with H&R Race Springs. With front and rear strut tower reinforcement plates and upgraded HP Aluminum/Rubber Rear Shock Mounts. Up next: Suspension upgrade. :D
Imagine what it would be like if this snapped while driving in a crowded freeway. Wish my car had linkages like an old Datsun
Opened a box! :D

Floorpan! I need to buy me a new one soon.
A week ago I did a short rotor replacement on an older 90s Ford Exploder 4x4. Fucking. Cakewalk. Had him and his dad confused on how to get the damn things off. I walked up, took a look for a sec, popped em' off and said "There ya go, done." Never been called a motherfucker so many times in a sort period of time. Most recently I did a tear down of a 99 explorer Eddie Bauer edition. I hate that truck it's such a POS, nothing is easy to get to and it STILL runs like shit after having the heads redone. Now, it backfires when it idles and it kinda hesitates, I don't know whats wrong with it and I don't care I'm not doing it again. It's a friends truck and gonna get some good monies for all the BS and cut/sliced/beat knuckles/fingers.

replaced a short arm suspension on my teachers jep with long arm and went ahead and pulled and replaced the diff and pinion. Have removing pinions, have to hold on for dear life to the drive shaft linkage while your use a impact to remove the bolt holding it all in.
Today started with trying to fix the left side of the engine, as of yesterday it has 0psi on both cylinders. Tinkered around with the valve's and got #4 to get pressure, did the same to #3 and cranked her up. Noticed abit of missing, checked #3's pressure and it was 0... 30min later of adjusting the valves making sure its correct me and my stepdad called it dead. [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1031910/VW%20Beetle/2013-03-13%2018.45.31.jpg[/t] WHO STOLE MY ENGINE! [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1031910/VW%20Beetle/2013-03-13%2019.46.41.jpg[/t] #3 Piston R.I.P [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1031910/VW%20Beetle/2013-03-13%2020.16.54.jpg[/t] going to do rings on #3 and #4 might do a little bit of honing because #3 decided to make aluminum stick to the wall of the cylinder. First time taking out a engine, this shit is fun as fuck!
Sure taking it apart is easy, but putting it back together is where the skill comes into play.
I wish I had the time, space, and money to tear my engine apart and rebuild it. :( http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/3678364423.html it runs and everything
Sure taking it apart is easy, but putting it back together is where the skill comes into play.
I have to put it back together and make it run again? NOPE Should be easy tho, all the nuts and shit are labeled and organized in which order they came off the car. Should be fun tho because all the chrome shit around the engine bay's bolts and shit fell off the table and the order got fubar'd. New supercharger. Now I can finally live my life a quarter mile at a time.

[editline]13th March 2013[/editline] No wait its a battery [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] Wait actually it's an air filter!
You're all idiots. [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] It's obviously a piston
No, you're wrong too. It's a quantum hyper-flux capacitor, it's so you can cross the barrier of parallel dimensions so you can see what your dad would look like if he was your mom. :v: BTR: Got some more work lined up. Tis gonna be on a GMC jimmy 4x4, rear brakes and shocks. Never done, my work is.
Front Bilstein Struts installed w/ H&R Race Springs as well as Rear Bilstein Shocks installed w/ H&R Race Springs. It amuses me how ghetto you got to be to work on a BMW some times. Had to use the factory jack.... yes a jack to pry open the back so i can slip in the springs. Almost as amusing as the process of removing the mechanical fan which involves beating it with a hammer/mallet...
I'm just gonna ignore the last bit of the thread title and share what I worked on yesterday. Me and the guy I'm with as an intern changed the steering servo on a firetruck: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18812415/Bilder/Mobilen/DSC_0024.jpg[/t] Then we topped up the servo oil. A little too much oil as it turns out: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18812415/Bilder/Mobilen/DSC_0028.jpg[/t] This is the truck: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18812415/Bilder/Mobilen/DSC_0030.jpg[/t] Today we worked on a logging truck that had a snapped clamp(?) that holds down the suspension. The bracket looked like this: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18812415/Bilder/Mobilen/DSC_0043.jpg[/t] Then we worked on a truck that my school owns, had a broken tube that transports coolant. It's been replaced 5 times already so it's a reoccurring problem. I'm having a great time at this workshop! Very happy to be there.

Took it to a shop to get a full inspection, everything is great other than the fact that they found my vibration issue. I have a bad driveshaft center bearing, which allows excess play in the driveshaft, a bad transmission mount and my bad transmission tailshaft seal. I knew about the last two but the tailshaft seal caused both those things to happen by leaking atf everywhere. Well it looks like I'll be saving for a transmission swap, too bad I don't have the money to go 5 speed.
Sweeeeet. Found someone in-country who can sell me the intake manifold, throttle body and intake boot assembly off an '95 M60B40 motor - they'll bolt right on to my M60B30 for a nice HP boost, which I'll probably follow up with a chip tune to make the most of it. Finally... these parts are a dime a dozen in the US but shipping costs are insane to get such bulky parts to Australia :(
Remote start in an 09 Touareg. Off comes the cowl. Was a fun one. Also, droplight wire waiting to get tangled in the wiper arms :p Also.. this For this Pink zebras cuz it's for my friend's daughter... and she likes pink.
Is that...is that a mustang?
Yeh, just got brand-new paint.. He took it down to metal then fixed hail damage. What a hassle, glad I only have to deal with the electronics. This us what happens when someone's daughters car gets rear ended and totaled, and her father is a car guy just looking for new projects, haha. She's being upgraded from an Aveo
My daddy just gave me his horrible sense of humor
Ugh, I'm sore. It sucks to work on the S13 without a lift. Car stands and jacks. Can only imagine once we start lowering this thing; would be impossible to raise. Just installed Sanyco & Nabco clutch and slave cylinders within like 2 hours lol. Bypassed the weird Nissan clutch dampener and did the straight piping to to the rubber hose to the slave. Topped off with Motul DOT 5.1 fluid. Feeeeels so nice now.
I have to put my car on a tiny shop jack to then get it onto the lift it's fun
