As soon as I was happy with my alternator change being easy, it had to have a thin as fuck nut in one of the worst spots.
I never let anyone fill my car, too scared of anyone dumping lower than 91 octane in it.
some kid I know works at a gas station and was laughing about some lady getting mad that he (in snobbish mocking voice) 'DIDNT PUT PREMIUM IN MY BEE EMM DUBYEW' I'm like, you know that when you do that and their car explodes because you're a fucking idiot you get sued for the cost of a 60+thousand dollar vehicle right? thousandyardstare.jpeg
It's horrible what kind of harm sometime just putting the wrong octane rating gas in cars that requires a bare minimum of 91 can do. [t]http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q286/aasearles/IMG_5742.jpg[/t] Worst case [t]http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b246/billboost37/Regal%205/IMG_4653.jpg[/t]

Also tested out the NPR Instead of having a hot side and hot side Now I have a hot side and luke warm side Also a little more kick to the power and a bump up on psi.
Finally felt good enough to do something on my car so I went out and decided to replace my shift knob and boot with OEM ones I ordered from Acura. This isn't some cheap ass ebay knob or boot, it's a Optional OEM knob for the RSX, Accord and Fit 5 speeds. The boot is of course also OEM, however it doesn't fit the collar clip as well as it does on the newer cars because they use a smaller boot. I picked up the knob for $37 and the boot for $22 which are roughly what you pay for knockoff shit, it's really sad people even spend money on that garbage. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/IMG_20130914_125608.jpg[/t] [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/IMG_20130914_125642.jpg[/t] During the process I had to take out the whole center console, this included me cleaning every nook and cranny of these as the previous owners were total fucking slobs and at some point someone left a very dumb small dog in the car a lot that loved to chew on the handbrake AFAIK. There was spilt soda and disgusting slime all through behind these that I cleaned the hell out of, most of it was incredibly unidentifiable in various colors. I feel so sorry for whoever detailed this car before I bought it, they did a very good job of cleaning almost anywhere visible.
Alternator done, car sounds better as well now that it is at its rightful 14V instead of 13.5 to 11.5 to 18 crazyness. TPI is an unforgiving bitch with its voltage.
Shit. The sub doesn't fit. Time to make it fit...
That's the way to do it! ^^^^
Got a $265 paycheck. Spent $100 on tools and brake fluid, finally got brake fluid through the Radian! Just need to get the airbox on (gonna be the hardest part), need to clean the rust outa the tank, order a new petcock and fuel line, replace the throttle and clutch cables (fuck you corrosion), and grab a new battery. New tires will have to come down the line as the front and rear tires are pretty dry rotted.
dropped the tank installed my Aem Fp replaced the fuel filter replaced the fuel strainer Put some gaz in it Went back to tuning the retarded SARD dead-time
Pulled head back off block to finish machine work Cleaned all my engine spare bits pulled the 52mm throttlebody I needed (OEM Holley throttlebody, yay dadge) put in new IAC, put in new TPS, tapped two of the oil feeds and installed 3/8" plugs Now I need to get... Oil feed line and fitting, fittings for the oil drains and a bit/tap combo that will allow me to put those in, have Danny in town machine my cam gears since I don't have a lathe, and... Gasket set, timing belt. I'm close. I can feel the power already. It's delicious.
Finish that build and record the start up for us. Also goddamn my MPG's have gone drastically down city driving with the X-P cam, I mean, I drove what, 60km this weekend and was able to put on 20$ of gas? Jeez.
Carb kit came. Surprisingly cheaper than the 1bbl kit. Probably because no one has any desire to restore a 1BBL. but. MINE has got to be the cleanest single barrel holley 1920 in the known universe. Either way, The single cost $45, and the BBD was only $15, from pretty much anywhere. Well, I rebuilt the Carter because it was $25, and looked like this: It didn't get much prettier, but all the paper gaskets came out. It was a pain in the ass to remove them all as they were all stuck like hell, and had to be scraped - then I resurfaced all the points a gasket set on, straightened the rods (weren't that bad) and left it. I will adjust the jets later, as they're right up on top. Fuel bowl was sitting nice with both floats in the right spot, and the needle and inlet got swapped out - normal stuff. It would just be stupid not to rebuild it, but it was obviously more difficult than the 1bbl. Those holes in the throttle plates mean the carb was intended for the 318 or larger motors, which they came stock on. But it'll work with a minor bit of tweaking the arms that operate the choke. I found the "Super Six" aircleaner online at FABO for free, at just the cost of shipping, and a replacement decal for $10 on ebay for it. I'll clean the air cleaner up, paint it either blue, or white, and replace the decal. Should look pretty sweet. So far, I am $300 into this project, and just need a kickdown linkage, and may have to go aftermarket for that at $60, and then redo the exhaust in 2 1/4". May net about 30hp for the whole thing - hopefully, since the head is shaved, and compression's up a little, adding this little bit should make a difference.
looking at old pictures and reminding myself of how shitty the paint was on this car before after and i finished spraying everything yesterday. just need to reattach the sail panels, reattach weatherstripping, and polish. and put the interior back together but idc
I see you have air horns on that thair mustang, for scarring brats I assume?
Work continues on the downed S13. Started with re-attaching the front timing cover for like the third time. This time I was speedy and didn't let the RTV dry before I sandwiched it. Still spread kind of unevenly but it will do, I'm sick of it. Started removing the clutch cylinder assemblies to be replaced with new ones. Only the Lord knows if it's ever been serviced or replaced. The clutch hose looks like a twisted pretzel
I see you have air horns on that thair mustang, for scarring brats I assume?
That is a cobra, not a mustang.
That is a cobra, not a mustang.
Mustang/Cobra, basically the same car with minor differences like badges engine and little bits of body work. Don't be nit picky. Also if I'm not mistaken, majority (half at least) of the parts between them are interchangeable. Also, FORD. Looks nice though, well done.

Finally putting the bigger torsion bars in for the front suspension If all goes well i'll be testing these out on the Ring next week :) [t]http://i.imgur.com/DvnDGDg.jpg?1[/t] Bye bye suspension travel :D
Sweet motherfuck. Hatch arrived today, both struts bent during shipping. One had the nut break off. Small dent below mid spoiler, but i think i can pop it out by hand. Turns out my car is bent some, but ill do something about it. [t]http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/5249/m1wi.jpg[/t] Have another pic, but im having trouble uploading [t]http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6733/fkm6.jpg[/t]
Going to file a complaint/ask for money back? I would.
Going to file a complaint/ask for money back? I would.
I mentioned it to the seller, but id rather not go threw a return process or anything. If it was major damage, yeah id file for sure. But so far, its minor things
Bent struts is minor damage?
Considering the things that couldve happened (broken glass, big dents, etc) its fairly minor. Ive got my old ones ill reuse
I see you have air horns on that thair mustang, for scarring brats I assume?
i got the car like that, i guess the PO didn't feel like replacing the clockspring so he wired in that stupid shit and glued a button to the dash. it's all gone now though.
I just lowered my W124 220TE and i gotta say it looks really fucking awesome, It is now about 15 cm of the ground I think. I will post pics another time since it is still at the garage i work for(yay free tools and lifts) I also bought some new rims(mentioned earlier) and still looking for a new subwoofer and amp. Oh and you're probably gonna hate me for this but I'm thinking about getting a bumpersticker that says "Bags are for groceries" or "switches are for bitches" and if I feel like it "too low for fat hoes"
Why on earth would you lower it that much? Wagons like that don't look right when that low. If anything it would do better with a California rake. IMHO of course.
