Got the exhaust manifold cleaned. Now I have the entire setup ready to go, except for the damn kickdown linkage. Totally impossible to find. Decal came for the air cleaner, and everything's ready. I have all the gaskets, carb's rebuilt. Just need some bolts to hold everything on, cause I hear those are important sometimes. Just need that stupid linkage. So if you see anyone with a 1976-79ish dodge aspen, or plymouth voltair(sp?) and they want to get rid of it, slap them, open the hood, shovel $20 at them, and unbolt the kickdown linkage off their super six setup, then ship it to me, I'll give you some moneys. Till then this project is at a standstill...

Yes. EXACTLY! that one.
I almost bought a Dodge Aspen with a slant 6 in it a couple years ago. My dad talked me out of it though. :\
Since Autozone ended up sending me a two pot caliper, i might as well upgrade the other side as well. Thatll be done tomorrow

What is the point of tilting your sunroof.
I've tried it several times, all it does is increase wind noise.

Never posted in here before, but I just bought some new headlights and bulbs for my 2000 Mustang GT. Not exactly the most hardcore thing to do on the car but it's DIY. The stock ones are all clouded up and shit on the inside and its literally impossible to drive at night.
Welcome! Enjoy your stay here in the AA section! We have refreshments :v:
sorry i ate all the fruit snacks
they were tasty

It pretty much creates a vortex of vacuum that sucks the air out of the cabin and forces air through ready openings into the cabin.
Trust me, I know this because my car has no AC. Plus it creates badass downforce and it increases my drag coefficient
I do the same, cept I don't have a sun roof. I open my drivers window and rear passenger about 1/4 to half way, it creates the same vacuum effect.
I also don't have AC, my compressor was locked up when I got the car. Recently I took it apart for shits and giggles, thing is supar fuckard.
Anybody here done a fiero engine swap? I'm gonna be starting my project soon and looking for some advice. I will be buying a 1988 fiero gt, and a l67 3.8 supercharged engine.
This is my current build list.

plastic. I'll grind it down to a clean shape, then give it some proper grounder to keep it from rusting again. Then some new paint.
lesson learned, if you see a rust bubble, fix it fix it fix it before it gets worse.

Got it grounded down to an even surface

Never done a swap, but all I can say is that #140 springs are overkill for an XP cam, #105 are perfect, or #130 with a double roller. With the XP cam you need to take the MODDED retainers, unless you get stage x heads or get them milled / ported. Hell I run #90 valve springs on mine, recommended by Will from Overkill w/ 825-850 idle speed.
With 140's on the stock chain you'll chew the tensioner in 5-10k miles. Do not do that.
You also forgot the most important thing > Coolant elbows & Lower intake manifold gasket (Metal one). Garlock S/C gaskets are crap. 160* T-stat is useless. Get a Drilled 180 if you want really cold.
You're also missing head gaskets, valve seals, re-usable rocker bolts, cam bolt, cam key, front cover gasket, water pump and valve cover gaskets. Also get the heads magnafluxed for cracks, they tend to crack between the valves.
Pacesetter headers are know to leak/rust, you're better off with SSAC/SD ones with a ZZP doublewall flex. Or a set of used TOGs. But they work fine other than that.
A 3.0" pulley is overkill for a Headers + cam set up, on a Gen 3 blower, you could do maximum 3.2" without KR, unless you run a piss poor tune without any timing. You'll get kr and blow some pistons.
And all I can say you, is that if you run a 3.2" pulley or less with just that and a canned mail order tune, you won't have the ideal set up, get your car STREET tuned, if you plan driving the car out of the track, otherwise get it dyno tuned. Reptile, Will, Intense, ZZP are good for that, otherwise for mail in, overkill is the best(will).

I was wondering about the springs, I had 105 originally, but the xp cam suggested I run 140. Easy fix there. My brother may mill my heads for me, but we'll see.
As for the gaskets and what not, I didn't include them because I am literally going to replace everything with this build. Once I tear it down, if anything even looks remotely damaged, it's getting replaced. I might as well just order this: http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/138-Engine-Gasket-Kit.aspx
Headers I am still on the fence with, because most headers I have to cut into the fiero truck to get to work properly. I may either have my buddy make some for me, or just buy the custom ones for the fiero.
I never planned on a 3.0 inch pulley. I am going to get a 3.2 for now, and drop down to the 3.0 later once I either get heads or an intercooler. I have the injectors to match as well.
This is more of a weekend car, but I do not wish to take on the track. Everyone suggested overkill over zzp, and he said he has done numerous fiero tunes.
I bet with this build I should be at about 350whp. Which my goal, because the getrag 5spd can only supports about 350whp and 400lbs of torque. I have options once the getrag breaks, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

XP Cam, headers, 3.2 on Gen 3 should net you 300whp. Maybe 320 at top if you get the heads ported right. I'd estimate 300 +/- whp and around 400 +/- torque.
And Will is the best tuner for all 3800 powered cars. So you're right with that. Good luck with your build and you'll sure have something fun!

Should be more than enough for a mid engine car. Thanks for the advice!
With the weight of a fiero, 300whp and the massive torque 3800's likes to make, you'll surely be in the twelve seconds on the 1/4, so it should be more than enough! If you want faster, E85 conversion or Intercool it then drop to a 3.0! Or do both for a 2.8! Then if still not fast enough, swap to a Gen V. And then if it still isn't up to your tastes, turbo it.

I do plan on intercooling it. I just want to get the build done first because I would have to do a custom intercooler because the intercooler would have to be in front and with the engine in back, that complicates things.

I don't notice a difference.
I have put just the fan on, with outside air selected and then tilted the sunroof.
I don't notice the air any cooler or coming out any faster then with the sunroof closed.
:(
not what I meant
turn it totally off
tilt it
drive on the highway
air moves (albeit slowly) through the vents
its really just to keep fresh air moving through the car when its in that comfortable temperature zone outside

Get a Fullstack intercooler and put a fan over the heat exchanger somewhere? The actual intercooler is liquid cooled and is under the supercharger.

Yea I know that, I have to get modified fuel rails and other crap. I meant the radiator, I haven't really thought of or seen a good way of doing it with a fiero. I saw one guy do the fan like you suggested.

Mmhmh, that's one thing, but you should figure it out. I looked back at your google sheet, good, you modded it. And I noticed that you don't have any Timing chain dampner, get one, don't re-use the current one.
Oh and for your tune, take in note that if you set your idle at 650-700, chances are your timing chain dampner will be due between 5k and 20k miles. If you set at 800+, chances are it'll last between 15 and 40k.
Rewired all 6 injectors to have full sequential injection
Since it was running good with a bit of tuning, I decided to test at what speed my windscreen wipers start to raise.
