Found hardware, and assembled manifold. Nothing too exciting yet. Going to speak with the guys who did my muffler swap and see about doing a 2 1/4 to the muffler, and 2 1/2 past that. Cars with this setup seemed to have that particular size it seems, so it may be a necessity eventually to get the most of it. Once that kickdown is found, I'll be golden. The last one I saw on ebay was 65 bucks, now I see another for $185. Hardly seems fair, but i hear mid 90s 1500 dodge's had a similar linkage...

Has anyone here in the UK ever plastidipped their car?
Installed new spark plugs, one step colder and iridium (BKR7EIX)
it helped reduce the idle misfire due to massive and slow injectors. It's going better and better, seem like I'll go on the dyno before the end of the season!
Has anyone here in the UK ever plastidipped their car?
I tried it last night on my spoiler, got the can at Lowes, here in the us. It works iiight with the spray cans, except my spoiler started falling into the floor and i had to grab it, which completely ruined the finish. Then i decided i would put on a really wet coat to see how it looked since it was already fucked, and i ran out of paint doing that coat. So it looks kinda janky, but it was looking nice before the matter of fact. I just didn't have full coverage all over and things sorta went south after grabbing it.

Plastidip is a nice concept, but it still has a way to go before its worth covering your car in it.
Firstly, the cost. Last i knew, it was cheaper to rattle can your car then to plastidip, by a lot.
I know theres a lot of hate on rattle cans, but if you know what youre doing, it can come out great.
Second, ive heard of a lot of issues with plastidip.
Some are just the plastidip fading, tearing, etc. Others are the plastidip actually damaging the surface under it (leaving a hue, making the surface under it rough after removal, etc)
I've never done my whole car, and don't really plan on it, but i think plastidip is a good product for doing small areas you might want to remove, I also like the textured look.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/KLkB2sph.jpg[/t]
I did the side guards and rims.
The dip has only tore where other cars opened their door on it, and where my rim got scratched when I put on new tires (which I fixed but this is an old picture from before then because its dark outside).
if you tilt it and turn your A/C off it pulls air through the vents into the car
i use it when i dont want to use A/C and its raining
And you get that wonderful new car smell at the same time. I have no idea where the car stores that wonderful odor, but vents off and sunroof tilt open = nice smell.
CEL came on today. 99% sure its the rear O2 sensor again. Going to check the codes and if its what I think it is, im going to buy a O2 simulator
you can pop the hood and check the engine usually, mines never left the bay yet.
CEL came on today. 99% sure its the rear O2 sensor again. Going to check the codes and if its what I think it is, im going to buy a O2 simulator
Mine's been on for 2 and a half years and about 38k miles. I bought one and it keeps it at bay for like two cold starts then it comes back soon as it warms up fully. I'd just use one of those o2 sensor spacer things.
My Jeep ZJ has been breaking my heart lately...as well as my bank account.
Within the last month I have replaced the Starter, Power Steering Pressure Hose, and now I'm on my way to replacing my fuel pump and wiper motor. OH I also had an Idler pulley decide it wanted to come unbolted; luckily it just hung limp and didn't tear anything up.
Now, I think my fuel pump is still good but the sending unit is obviously malfunctioning because my fuel gauge works until I am about at a half a tank; from that point on it's a guess as to how much gasoline I have left. The gauge simply reports inaccurate; sometimes reading a quarter tank to half to under 'E'. Quite frustrating really.
I also need to replace my Coolant Temp Sensor or my Temp Sending Unit because my temperature gauge is erratic and non functioning. It's either one of those things, both, or my instrument cluster is poop.
Something I need to do soon is replace my fuel filter as well as flush my tranny fluid and the shift solenoid. I have a lot of erratic shifting from time to time and I think those might help prolong a rebuild.
After that I will rebuild the drum brakes because even when in park my Jeep still likes to roll, even just a tiny bit. In fact, the other evening I had forgotten to engage my parking brake and my Jeep rolled down to the end of my driveway by morning. Not safe and definitely a concern.
My windshield wipers motor is either stuck, disengaged from the arm (Bushings possibly bad?) or it's gone out. So I'll test that and see if I can do a simple fix; if that doesn't work or is not the issue then it could be the physical multi-function switch on my steering wheel.
I need to also replace my battery wires because they are in complete disarray. That will give me a chance to clean up the terminals and spots where my grounds are bolted.
My Coolant Level Sensor is also no longer functioning; woo-wee!
I may have a small exhaust leak in my exhaust manifold, but that is a minute concern really, but definitely on my "To-Do at Some Point" list.
The Hood Hinge on my driver's side is at the end of its life and the coil is coming unwound some which adversely raises my hood a few inches.
My rear tailgate needs to have the hydraulic arms replaced; luckily I picked up two when rummaging at a junk yard.
Now, lately I've been having an issue in which my car starts running odd and the RPMs jump both while driving and at idle. It doesn't happen consistently in any particular condition, but it has been occurring more frequently which leads me to believe it's either my fuel filter or fuel pump. Could also be an O2 sensor but for now I'll try a new fuel filter and some Lucas treatment. If that doesn't seem to be the cure then I will try something else.
Today, if the weather permits, I would like to clean the throttle body and IAC; that could also be a contributing factor to my idling issue.
I also have been getting the Jeep death wobble which means I get to do some suspension work soon. Yay!
Jeeps ya'll;
Just
Empty
Every
Pocket
We bought a Jeep a few years ago, kept it for 1-2 years before selling it to move.
It wasnt too bad.
We paid 500 for it, it had 245k miles on it and needed suspension work.
We fixed the suspension, had maybe 700 into it by then.
Drove it a year+, only issue we had was a few times when the starter just wouldnt work. Oh, and rust so bad you could kick the tow hitch and 4"x4" slabs of rust would fall out from under it
I think we ended up selling it for $1000 or more

could of at least bought a shitty unreliable AMC Jeep.
(how many miles are on it anyway)
New headlights came in today, gonna drop them in tomorrow and snap a before/after pic so you can see how fucked the old ones were.

Hi, im your cps! your crank isn't walking out of the block on your 4.0.. but im getting a little old so you're just going to have to hold off on starting your engine until I feel like working.
Also I had a talk with MAP and TPS and they agreed to fuck your idle intermittently.
oh and overflow bottle said he's really hung over.
Got them in

>fuel injection slapped on a 1950s engine
>complaining about problems with the fuel injection system (CPS, MAP and TPS are all FI electronics)
Still, those bits are relatively cheap for Jeep stuff. But that's the problem, really, they used all of the cheapest solutions. Regardless, unless you're a tard, it's extremely simple to replace 99% of the bits of a Jeep 4.0. Trust me, I've had to. I've have many, many 4.0 Jeeps through my shop. Everything from water pumps to cracked thermostat housings to head gaskets...

sort looks like the #m family
7m engine still has hole and casting properties from the mechanical fuel pump back in the 4m day
they slapped EFI on the 5m then a turbo and COP+CPS on the 7mgte while they kept the same head water passage and shitty oil distribution.

That's the saving grace with these actually; they're fairly easy to work on, and so has my Jeep. Plus there's a ton of room in my engine bay to work for the most part.

Oldschool MFI fuel injection fascinates me. A shame it's so expensive to work on, parts-wise. Just take a look at an MFI pump.

Unless it's a Bosch Verteiler-Einspritzpumpe.
http://www.cs.rochester.edu/~jag/vw/engine/fi/injpump.html
They're rotary-vane type fuelpumps.
Available as both mechanically+pneumatically/vacuum controlled OR electronically controlled.
Ofcourse, they were designed with Diesel in mind :v:
Looks a hell lot more advanced than the 6 plunger version above, haha.
So it looks like the toe in on the front is pointed out slightly on both sides, and its wearing the tires on the inside with feathering. The feather feel is when I run my hand backwards over the tread.
Now I've read it could be weak strut towers or poor camber (that can be fixed by drilling the mounting holes bigger, which I'm not gonna). I know it needs an alignment but I'd like to know how so maybe I can fix it and save a few bucks. Could it be that the tire size is 205/40R17 when they should be 215/45R17.
So basically I'm asking if anyone here is familiar with tire wear patterns and what causes them.
No tape. And no spray paint.
1shot, thinner, steady hand, and socket wrenches to detach things to paint.
I also used Japan Dry and hardener for you paint people...

There's a couple more shades of blue to add to the top rail (which is why it looks so empty) on the fenders and firewall. And there will be custom airbrushing on the flat surfaces following my "Supersix" and airforce themes. It will make more sense when the new top end setup is in... the current leftover red and cast iron is not doing it justice.

Then once the airbrushwork is on, it'll be a light sand (like 4000gritt) and then a buncha clearcoat.

Got my SPO Spoiler, painted it cheaply for the meantime. Should be okay.
Wiper motor is in, different set of speaker grills because the old ones had too little clearance and finally a stronger wastegate actuator.
Everything works great so far.
And I'm fucking tired, the yards are so far away, had to fight traffic back.
On a side note, got a mirror for my grandpas mercury, he really enjoyed the 81'st birthday present.
