Drew up the intercooler mount in CAD, it's solid as a rock so I'm not sure I'll need the top portion. I may only connect the bottom three bolts and use the intake/outtake pipes for additional support and un-torque the bottom beam but for now I'll keep it. Black box represents the intercooler (it is thicker in person and obv. has intake/outtake): Deflection sim (~20 lbs of force):
I envy your fancy CAD skillz.
lol that inventor basic simulation, you don't have anywhere near enough constraint and true applied forces for it to be representative, it's a nice rainbow at best.

I mainly drew it up in cad so I can make part drawings for when I fab tomorrow.
Been a while since I got to upload photos.. here's the good lately. A Mini Winnebago (toyota pickup platform) for deck and 4 speaks. How I'd love to have one of these bad boys. He wanted it just chillin in the back downfiring.. not much other option for such a large sub. I cut and carpeted some lil side panels to hold it up, and mounted the amp in the storage tray. Shit was wangin, haha. Also.. there's no wires connected at the terminals because I ran the sub's wiring out the port of the box so it was out of sight, heh. Those 3-ton Toyota campertrucks are awesome. I've always thought they'd make a great tough frame for a towing truck, since the large frame and all. Tear off the camper, put a regular Hilux cab on it (since that one's got the back chopped out), build a steel bed and some towing gear. If I ever have a nice garage/another auto business and need a tow vehicle, it's my first choice.

Long drive? Shitty weather? Fuck it, it's a Hilux. Toughest truck on the face of the planet.
Hilux ftw see anything the same? Work continues on the KA24E now that I have my hoist back. I'm having problems with the stubborn pilot bearing. Tried a bearing puller, it just slides out. I'm going to try my luck with grease packing it might work After my finger got pinched by the slide hammer I said fuck this, work on it tomorrow
Got a new head unit Ill probably get some new speakers next paycheck Also changed the oil and ran 1 1/2 cans of seafoam through it. Very noticable change in performance after 167k miles of cop and taxi work.
omg, somehow the e30 didn't blow the second I started it up. now there's just a wheel bearing and a few other tiny things to do, then inspection.
Brakes were squeaking, so I was going to replace the pads. The pads were still good. What elso could cause the brakes to squeak? Also knocked the dents out of the hubcaps and polished them.

Went to a Pick n' Pull and got the center console out of a mangled 08 Charger. Who ever owned it was VERY dirty. Plus there was weed, tobacco, and air fresheners all over the inside. Also found a bag of weed the size of a golf ball in there. Through it in the backseat.

Outta all the times I've had brake squeals when it wasn't pad related, it was always those darned dust shield.

Changed the coil boots in my car today which fixed the misfire problem I was having, the picture doesnt do it much justice but I think one of them was original and it has over 150k miles on it haha. [t]http://i.imgur.com/sLW1Qrz.jpg[/t]

Hell, I love all old toyota's, specially the hilux's, tacomas, and 4runners. (Pre-'94)
I've read about seafoam before on one of the threads ages ago, could someone give me a quick rundown on the benefits and/or how to use it properly. I have about 400,000KM on the Nissan L24 six cylinder. I still uses leaded fuel aswell is that an issue?
you can still buy leaded fuel?

You can also put some in the oil pan, but then you have to change the oil so I dont usually bother. [editline]1st October 2013[/editline] Also while youre running it through the engine, keep revving it up. Not super high, but enough to blow white smoke like a steamboat. Then when youre done, drive agressively untill the tank is almost empty, then fill it up again with gas and youre done.
All this talk about seafoam, I think I'm gonna do my car too... I tried it a couple years ago and I don't think I did it right... but I also kinda freaked out a bit because there was a fuckton of smoke was coming out of my engine bay. That is when I learned my exhaust manifold had a huge crack in it, lol
Did it to another employee's Mazda in my install shop once, lol. Smoked the store up a little more than I had planned :)
My engine is so clean that seafoaming it would be useless
From what I read, pouring water into the brake booster line like seafoam will make the same amount of smoke.
Whelp, I did the seafoam dealio on my car and it revealed that I still have an exhaust leak up front where the two pieces of my header join together so I guess I'm gonna order a new gasket for that... I didn't put it in my oil but I'm gonna change it in a couple days anyway since it's about due, as well as spark plugs. And air filter. And maybe clean the engine bay finally. Haven't had any money to throw at my car in a while so it feels good to catch up on all this stuff lol
I gave up on the pilot bearing on the KA and I've tried grease packing, using an old blind hole puller, chiseling and all sorts of fenagling. Gave up and got that blind hole slide hammer from Autozone for a free rent and it just popped out in under a second. Dat relief; now I can finally RTV the rear main seal and the oil pan. Then I will finalize the head installation and manifolds. Then it will be dropping time
