Pretty much any expensive part that isn't the block. Easier to nab the engine from a similar car that's been rear ended and dumping it in his derelict one.
Wow. I did not know you could buy engines for like 600$.... This would be tremendously cheaper. Looking at 200$ for pistons 400$ in heads 200$ in random belts and gaskets. Also after piddling with the braket I got the striped bolts out. ITS JUST TOO HAPPENED that one of the jetskies we parted out had the EXACTLY SAME SIZE BOLTS! Tomorrow Ima put shit back together and my bumper too........ I might disregard that last one. [editline]efgjnh[/editline] I wanna fly tomorrow tho :( BEST GET UP AT 6AM or.... go do it now.... IN CLEAN CLOTHS. nopenopenopenope

But I don't really have the time to play with it yet. I thought about getting the valves and heads repaired which was about $250 per side, and $400 for new pistons, as well as a new timing belt, etc... etc... it is way over what a used motor costs. The whole car has also been closed up for like... 5 years. lol. It may smell when I open it.

[t]http://imageshack.us/a/img547/3012/6iig.jpg[/t]
theirs something off with the tires and car, like the thin spokes don't match the beefyness of the car. Or maybe it's the color of them. Someone help?
They're OEM 17" WS6 wheels, painted gunmetal.

No lie - when I put in my new radiator the lower hose mount was not tilted like the OEM one so the old hose didn't fit. Bought some random one for a firebird or someshit that was close, and used a ziptie to keep it off the belt. Still there. Still good.

gear stick comes out once I get the steel retainer cup thing out. The steel retainer cup that has been touching my aluminum trans since 1986 :suicide:
Torqued-down my ARP studs. Got a little hektik here, got to use two torque wrenches because the smaller increments only the digital can do. Finished it off with the behemoth of a Mac Tools. Was a bit scary at times because it felt like the nut was going to just shred the stud just spinning on it. 60ft lbs. 75% yield. One little step towards motor completion
lol I put together a spare motor for muh racecar yesterday and today, got the head torqued tonight, only took like 10 minutes. Torqued to 30, 60, then 90 ft/lbs. Just need to put on the oil pump+pickup, pan, cam towers, and timing cover, probably like an hours worth of shit to do. Motors are easy peasy! I could see how it would be a bit shaky with an aluminum block though(the KA24 is aluminum, right?)
I put 3 cans of sea-foam threw my engine... What a day. Tip 2 cans max at a time.
Bro, BROO, it's spelt 'through'. Threw is the past tense of throw.
Driving about 30mph and had the loudest clunk sound from the back of my car, gotta investigate in the morning now.
You hit anything? Did you accelerate when it happened?
Today was simple. Right Stuffed a valve cover gasket, checked fluids, cleared and re-aimed washer sprayers. Can't have oil mucking up my clean engine now can I? Are there potholes on the road you were on?
So I did some stuff with the help of my friend Bobby. Put new speakers in the front of my car. Had to take the whole dash apart to get to them.
Nah he is just taking his time.
Interesting. Usually seats come last, because they keep having to come out to get everything else. Especially since there's no carpet, BUT. His car, not mine. I like it.

Also he usually works on stuff in the order of what is the least expensive to most expensive, with the exception of very important things like brakes and the drivetrain.
