blasting anime music when I so choose.
Since you have two I assume they're full stereo and sound excellent HAHA
Here's a short clip of the new mufflers in action. A bit of warning; right near the end my front brakes squeal something nasty, I'll put the new pads and rotors on one of these days I swear; http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=i4dLOszlEi8 (sorry, Facepunch is being a dick and simply will not let me embed any Youtube vids with the media tags, no idea why) The poor microphone quality actually makes it sound nice, but at idle and low speeds, it drones and buzzes the interior so bad I simply can't stand to drive it. So I had a few ideas, stopped by Bunnings to get some materials, and went full ghetto on the new mufflers earlier tonight; Idle and low speed drone are 100% gone, and it still sounds beautiful at full throttle. All that's in there is a single large ball of stainless steel wool that I stretched out lengthways. There are two straight perforated pipes in the muffler and it just fills the exit pipe pretty snugly. Anyway, was a brilliant test, so on Monday I'll swing by my exhaust shop and see if they've got some better material and can rig up something permanent that looks mint. It didn't take much at all to silence that drone, so I'm happy about this... Money not wasted perhaps.
Since you have two I assume they're full stereo and sound excellent HAHA
No way! They're harsh and sound terrible, like a PA speaker should. I blame a couple Mexican brothers that came through my workplace.. they had the same kinda thing and I thought 'why the heck not'. :p
framframframframframframfram
Is fram bad or somethin'?
Well, fram is known to be the cheapest oil filter out there, so may have a spotty service history. Fram filters are also very poorly made.
framframframframframframfram
Yeah, that's not going back on there.
Is fram bad or somethin'?
Everything about them.
STP filters used to be good about 4-5 years ago, recently they changed to a cheap Fram knockoff. Personally, I use Wix filters now. It's a pretty solid filter for a pretty good price. They are $6 for my Integra. $11 for a Mobile 1 is expensive for a frequently replaced item and it's "almost" as good as a Champion filter. http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/old_filters.shtml http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/filters.shtml http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articles/oilfilterstudy.html
I'll just quote that, I just recently switched to Denso oil filters as they make the good Toyota filters. They're $3 on Rockauto and are a great filter right below your Champ labs filter, kinda a Wix tier but slightly better. I'll toss this link in for the hell of it too. I use Bosch; its the same K&N filter but way cheaper. I use Wix for my fuel filter. Purolator/OEM for air filters
I use bosch and mobil 1 For Oil I use Rotella T6
Anybody have the link to that free repair manuals online? The thread was posted about 9 months ago. [editline]9th November 2013[/editline] found it http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1213187&highlight=repair+manual
Nice headers [editline]9th November 2013[/editline] That link needs to go in a OP somewhere, or get stickied

that 2jz looks tiny, i don't remember it being that small in my brothers supra.
2jz engine, no shit..
2jz GE like in FnF, they couldn't afford the Turbo'd
Decided my suspension was shit and needed some real TLC, so I went ahead and bought some polyurethane bushings and new ball joints all around the car. Tiersin came over today and helped me out with working on it all since it was going to be a bitch. Problem was removing the old rubber bushings was proving to be quite a hassle. However we did find a reasonable less than 20$ solution to the problem: Which worked amazingly and made the job really easy to accomplish. It also led to the interesting property of having the underlying layer of rubber come off clean revealing the beautiful brushed steel beneath, leading to a very clean and easy install. Only got the back done but it was worth it, next week I'll get the front end installed. Test was successful and I can notice a much greater level of stability and control from the rear that just wasn't there before. Can't wait to see how much better the steering is after I get the bushings and balljoints installed next week and get it re-aligned.
I am going to try your method when I have to do my torque rods
For those interested the 2JZ-GE uses the same thread pitch as Nissan KA's and CA18's. Meaning you can just use the same oil filter relocation kits as what Fords would use. You can also use a higher-capacity oil filter so the engine is easier to oil up for first start. Keep it mind though, the Micron rating is higher which means it will filter just a bit less than the regular filter: http://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/PartDetails.aspx?Part=51516 Little brother invested his first $48 into the Lexus SC300. He bought 6 quarts of oil, that Wix filter and a jug of car wash soap. We spent the afternoon working on it. I taught him how to change oil and how to fix basic like fixing vac leaks. The old owner used duct tape to fix a bunch of shit, tsk tsk. He also said how difficult it is to wash a car properly without leaving streaks or spots lol. and so begins another enthusiast life without any money
I am going to try your method when I have to do my torque rods
When I did mine I didn't have a bushing tool or a torch. I attempted to grill it on a make shift pit and I failed. So I just used a chisel and hacked away at the bushing metal frame to get my ES poly's on:
I spent like 8 and a half hours at the race shop polishing shit. It was surprisingly satisfying :v: I polished the torque tube for my neighbor's old car(he just got a new chassis ~2 weeks ago, havent started putting it together yet). For those wondering, the torque tube is what the driveshaft goes through. [t]http://puu.sh/5eQPo.jpg[/t] I also polished the motor plate from said car. Thing shines like a fucking mirror nearly, it's great. [t]http://puu.sh/5eQLg.jpg[/t] Our car owner's favorite color is polished aluminum, so he's always really happy when we're polishing stuff to a mirror finish. Its a great way to get parts you want :v:
So I did this today. I decided that the EGR solenoid needed a clean, because I didn't want to shell out 90 somethin' bucks for a new one. I powered it for a few moments with that screwgun battery (12v, the solenoid is rated 5v hence the moment) and carefully sprayed some brake cleaner through the 2 lower connections. Worked out well, I tested it prior and it took somewhere in 5 to 10 seconds for the car to stall at idle, afterward it took only 1 1/2 to flat die. That was the response I wanted.

Oh great, yet another beautiful car we Europeans don't get...
You can get them rather cheap in the UK, the costs to bring it to your country shouldn't be too high either if you live in the EU.
