I got hold of this.. And it works
I need names and model numbers... Jealous does not do justice. Also, I collect radios like that.
I need names and model numbers... Jealous does not do justice. Also, I collect radios like that.
Me too, i like how older radio's had shit like this, and not just a front usb and aux jack... model number is scraped off, but it's the nearly exactly the same as in the video, a Jvc chameleon, also i've got a pioneer DEH-P88RS with bluetooth box An right now i'm hunting a Kenwood KDC-W8027 or KDC-PSW9527 Or a pioneer DEH-P9600
Me too, i like how older radio's had shit like this, and not just a front usb and aux jack...
But I like those. No sense in putting them behind a lid either since they're so often used nowadays. I could even do without most functions of a typical headunit, just a DIN sized amplifier with volume, treble, bass, balance, fade and on/off switch as the only protuding things, and then a USB plug for phone charging and aux-in for the phone. Could even cram in a cheap bluetooth a2dp module and a source switch too.
Video title yo
I haven't slept since 6am yesterday. Suffice to say I forgot how to brain see thingies... :pwn:
Well true. But i just really like the nostalgic, and that, at the time, they tried a lot of cool designs, and features...
Not denying that, but I've been perpetually broke for some years now, and as a result function always prevails over form.
[IMG_thumb]http://puu.sh/5sJ93.JPG[/IMG_thumb] Bought some audio for the new car :v: took a few hours to hide the cables but damn that shit plays good.
You hid the cables? :P Get some zipties and get that MF away from the sub's cone mang. You want speakers or subs, Conker? Also, which car? There's plenty of speaker/subs brand to avoid like the plague.. B0SS, pyle, lanzar to name a few. People waste waaaay too much money on junk these days just because it's cheap. There's plenty of good priced equipment out there, we'll hook ya up. If I don't post first I'm sure masterwolf will, and he knows the good stuff, too. Might have even more expensive taste than me! Speaking of taste... Zotic has the best taste in radios I see. Finding a popout JVC like that is tough, let alone one that works. Daaang. This one's got a special place in my heart. No crazy mechanism like he posted.. but I've always loved the little color screen.
I remember in the late 90s/2000s I had a single DIN that the face rolled over so it looked like a piece of the dash. It had grey textured plastic that was exactly the same color as a stock grey interior, not black or anything. I wonder what the hell radio that was... It had a small tiny button on the bottom you pushed with a pen, then the radio face would spin back over. I also had a DUAL in like 2006ish that had a front face that slid down with all the buttons on it, and then a basic LCD screen with display would pop up from behind it, so it was like a 1.5DIN poking up and down each way when folded out. I miss stuff like that too.
I will post a picture of the stock-looking Dual unit I will install in this car. I specifically picked it as not to look like Tron in my GF's cabin lol Usual construction taking longer than usual. Going to bleed the brake system today to find the booster all beat up. Had to take it off and sand it down. Damn 1989 brake master cylinder has been leaking forever.

i like the name "Break Job Sunday"

Had to install longer wheel studs and had to throw on 4mm spacers on the front wheels because my passenger side was rubbing up against my suspension strut. Took a good little bit of metal off the inside of the wheel. Somethings still making contact on my passenger side and I need to get it all fixed before I really drive it anywhere. The new suspension bushings are crazy though and the car feels like it's on rails. Just needs a bit more work is all.
My radio is super basic. I think it cost me like $80. No CD player. Just blutooth, ipod jack, and radio. The faceplate isn't removable either. I want to find one that is newer looking with more knobs. Just need more knobs. JVC something or other...
Sigh. I'ma have to get a better radio and some subwooofa's..... again. Right now my Audi is a lame ass single din. Soon to convert it to a bigger double din. So I can then furthermore convert it to the Audi RNS-E. [t]http://www.gpsmagazine.com/assets/review-audirns/before_vs_after.jpg[/t] Its what I've been fucking had my heart on for the last 2 years. But I really don't wana pay the 1,000$ for the fucker wile I have to still solve my uncontrolled passenger wheel death wobble. Donate to DP's "why is all the nice things so expensive and I don't wana pay for them fund"?
You are going to love this, my friend just put one of those into his A4. And now you are going to hate this, I think the stock audi radios sound really good compared to other stock radios.
Get some real exhaust tips breh Was testing some thoughts with the new mufflers again. I'm almost totally convinced that cutting in some straight-tips through the bumper will eliminate the cabin buzzing/droning, as it seems to be a problem with sound reflection resonating in the muffler cavity then penetrating the trunk space and rear seats. With those funky pipes (actually the tips I had made when I tried the muffler delete) it sounded beautiful outside, and near-silent inside. Been tossing up ideas but there are so many options. Thinking of a few possibilities like these; [t]http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/TxDarth/740 exhaust/txdarth_exhaustPS.jpg[/t] [t]http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/9049/w3o2.jpg[/t] [t]http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/g477/15kj/Exhaust/magnaflowatcodyshouse2011atlmeetgreet.jpg[/t] [t]http://thedworld.com/otherimages/car/Phase3/IMG_2016_small.jpg[/t] I really like how the later F01/02 models do it though, that flush, single piece rectangular look. Wouldn't mind trying to replicate it; [t]http://blog.autoworld.com.my/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/cnybmw09.JPG[/t]

I ordered some sick ass JDM as fuck HID's today, I'm probably not going to put them in until I get my alternator rebuilt though. I loved my 6k HID's previously, I got some more for my car since it comes with projectors stock but only Japan got HID's in their fancy front end.. DDMTuning is running HID's for like $26, shipping was $14 for me though and came out to ~$42. Not really bad for something that has a "lifetime" warranty, although many people say their CS is horrible.

You a cassettes sorta guy? Dern jeep's got some goofy sizes, too. Can't say I've worked on a Comanche before, but it looks like 5.25" fronts in the doors and 4x6s in the rear. Gross, lol. Here's a couple decent options. For 4x6s there's going to be minimal sound difference, just really in the harshness of the tweeter and the build quality so it doesn't blow, lol http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DXI460/Polk-Audio-DXi460.html?tp=105 the 461's here are a little brighter than the 460s http://www.bestbuy.com/site/4-x-6-coaxial-speakers-with-polymer-composite-cones-pair/8802171.p?id=1218895845558&skuId=8802171&st=categoryid$abcat0302005&cp=1&lp=2 little bit better clarity from the plate versions here with the round midbass driver http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DXI460P/Polk-Audio-DXi460p.html?tp=105 A lot of times a person can fit 6" speakers where 5.25 speakers SHOULD go.. but have a scout, first extremely bright Kickers with meh bass response http://www.crutchfield.com/p_2064CS54/Kicker-40CS54.html?tp=105 The Pioneer D's are smooth and clear.. love em http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSD1302/Pioneer-TS-D1302R.html?tp=105 Pioneer and Kenwood offer a nice clear tweeter without being to bright http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_63999_Pioneer-TS-A1375R.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_43769_Kenwood-KFC-1394PS.html Alpine E's are nice for smooth clarity, too http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27134_Alpine-SPE-5000.html Bassiest speakers series I've heard on deck power.. Changing out my heater core tomorrow as it is a leaking motherfucker.
When you're working on a project it seems as though everything and everyone is against you. Just let me do what I need to dayuuum
Changing out my heater core tomorrow as it is a leaking motherfucker.
Good luck, replacing those things is a pain
Apparently the service manual says pull the dash. Every corvette owner says fuck that, pull the passenger seat out so you can crawl under the dash, remove the hush panel and ECM so it doesnt get wet and rip it out from there.

But unfortunately, AA land only exists here on FP, and we all live far away from you :(
My car is a 1 seater for a while. Also, changed out the driver and passenger seat foam, so much cushier.
