Those Compression ratios though
If I understand correctly, the truck 'versions' of those engines were lower compression, but i don't know why you'd want that so not sure.
Good excuse to throw a supercharger on there lol

I'm so fucking pro.
Took the covers off 1.5 years ago to paint them.
Put them back on yesterday without painting them.
Get on my level.

Reminds me of me and my foglights.
Finished assembling the throttle control assembly. For homemade, I'd say it looks badass. Trimmed the excess meat, cleaned it all down, and gonna just try and lay it out with some silver paint, to keep it looking like metal... but not rusting like it... sorta. I'm pretty happy with myself cause I never work with metal. I'm a carpenter by trade. I did it all with a grinder, two battery tiedowns and some old steel from the trash, and a wire welder.

My package arrived today, late but here.
4 more days till I get my throwout bearing and redline atf
unknown till I get my upgraded shifter bushings.
Went a little crazy with polishing tonight. I love wire scrub, it just polishes everything down.
Assembling fuel rail and system. After that is finalizing cooling system. I'm doing all this and I haven't even updated the car's registration yet, it expired couple months ago...
Here's my current todo list for the Volvo 360 I bought a few months ago:
Install giant ass aluminum wing:

Install Shift Light and RPM.
Install Start/Stop button.
Install exterior styling like shark fin and finish fixing up the small amount of rust and repaint the lower half of the car with hammer paint.
Weld Sport chairs to old fastenings.
Weld the new 2.5" exhaust I've built.
Install Solex 32 carb.
Install 4 point seatbelts.
Tint windows.
Got everything I need laying around just haven't had time to work on the car. Gonna post pictures once the exterior stuff is attached.
I hope you're doing most of that Ironically or something.
I hope you're doing most of that Ironically or something.
Yeah, I really hate Volvo. The 360 is the old mans version of the RWD series so we're turning it into a real ricer we can use this winter. It won't be street legal in any way but it'll be fun.
Edit:
Here's the car:
[IMG_thumb]http://puu.sh/4ew14[/IMG_thumb]
90 000km / 2 previous owners, 30 years old and tax free so it only needs inspection every 2 years.
Once we're done stripping it it'll have a curb weight < 900kg. With 120-130hp it'll be more than enough for the icy roads this winter.
Why would you destroy such a rare car in such good condition?
Why would you destroy such a rare car in such good condition?
Only worth it if it were a GLT model.
Why would you destroy such a rare car in such good condition?
rare? I see them everywhere
rare? I see them everywhere
I know Swedes that didn't even know they existed and I've never seen one irl even though I live 30 km away from the Swedish border :v:
I do believe in fact that these cars grow on trees because they are everywhere around here.
edit:
It's a GLT.
I know Swedes that didn't even know they existed and I've never seen one irl even though I live 30 km away from the Swedish border :v:
They're common as the flu in Holland and surrounding areas.
Since it's more or less a car designed partially by DAF and revised and sold by Volvo.
Alright officially off of school, I can finish work on the Lincoln!
Does anyone know where I can find OEM nuts/bolts for Fords? I called the dealership but they said they stopped carrying the parts since its an older car.
Then we went to Autozone and found bolts that'll fit the car, but they're so dinky I feel anxious about securing a heavy ass chair with it, especially when it might be the difference between life and death for the passenger.
The only other place I can think of is a pick and pull/scrap yard?
EDIT: I need a 8x1.25 bolt I believe, and also a replacement passenger cabin air intake cowl that I can't seem to find anywhere
Go buy bolts at Ace Hardware or Lowes/Home Depot or any other hardware store. If you're really worried about them breaking, buy grade 8's which are usually a goldish color(the zinc inhibits rust), or there are some grade 8's that are black(these rust after a while). For metric look for a 10.9 or 12.9 metal property. Unless you really want it to look original, in which case you'll probably have to order stuff online.
Ace hardware has a stellar selection in comparison to a lot of other stores. They seem to have the Grade 8 fine thread bolts that are sorta rare, not sure why either.
The only other option is your local nut and bolt company, for example there's Copper State Nut & Bolt here in AZ. They will have absolutely anything.

I've seen them a bunch of times, and I live on the west coast.

Hello, Isaac.
i want to do that but I've never built a turbo before..
Turbo the volvo way
Step 1, tap oil drain into oil pan and jb weld pipe
Step 2, run oil feed from oil pressure sensor
Step 3, install 740T manifold and turbo
Step 4, install intercooler from 740T or Ebay
Step 5, run all the intake pipes to their locations
Step 6, put exhaust pipe on turbo and install o2 sensor
Step 7, Switch out for 740T ecu's and either 850T injectors or 740T injectors depending on if the volvo is set up for high or low impedance injectors
Step 8, put on MBC and set it as high as it will go
:eng101:
Optional
Put a Tee in the coolant overflow line and lower radiator hose and run to turbo
Move MAF to pre turbo
Hook up an exhaust
Install the PCV system correctly
Run oil feed from a port on the front of the B230
Drill the oil return into the block itself
Run low comp pistons
Run 740T cam and valves
Upgrade your clutch to a 740T clutch and PP
My old heater core comes out tomorrow. I removed the heater box cover today and am going to drain the coolant out tomorrow, pull the old core, throw the new one in and compression test the system.

Yeah I'll try this. I think I can find most of those parts for just a few bucks each.
Clutch, what would be the best alarm system that can incorporate a bunch of sensors? Tilt sensor, GPS tracking, 2 way pager, etc? Where is the best place to hide it and the best way to power it iyo?

Fuel system and rail installed tonight. When I removed the return rubber hose from the rail, the sudden rush of air created a siphon to the gas tank. It just started pissing gas everywhere!
I suppose it was a good thing, the gas was all yellow and orange, probably not the 91 octane I put in there last time. Just gotta finalize some vacuum lines and cooling system then it's start video! Hopefully I scrounge up enough dollars for registration renewal and a windshield soon so I can drive it around
Causeforalarm has a S14 alarm install, you should be able to come up with some ideas from the other alarm installs on Hondas on the page too.
