Hellstrike hit a ditch iirc. :v:
I blew one engine 160km after supercharging it on my previous car. :v:
Where's Hellstrike been anyways? Haven't seen him in a while.
Fixed the leaky injector that was threatening my safety. Replaced the popped power steering hose. Drained and refilled oil and coolant. So much gunk already after first start-up. Shavings, rust debris, grease, etc. Tightened some bolts on the front engine cover. It made the coolant mix with the oil a bit, now it's ok. Runs like a champ now, just need to be broken-in outside. Mostly my family, parents. Auto-industry coworkers. Classmates. Friends. 240SX compatriots. It's hard to explain without you stepping into my shoes. I suppose to shorten it all, no one can understand why this forum and our passion exists unless you were one of us.
Whoo it works, break it in properly. When I was doing my transmission conversion no one really doubted me, but I got a few 'why' responses, I shrugged them off and kept at it. Good thing my perants were keen on me doing it, had my dad helping me a lot. I'll be rebuilding an L28 next year for school mechanics. Have you done any power additions to the motor or is it a standard blueprint rebuild?

It's just a factory rebuild with supporting modifications and some updates. Changed the head and main bolts to ARP studs. Much better head gasket material. Better rubber seals, etc. New bearing and piston ring materials. It's pretty much turbo ready for when I want to upgrade later. Thanks

everything looks so fresh and clean..
What L28 is not legal in the US?
California, he's got a couple years until he can do whatever he wants with his 89' though.
New heater core is in, just waiting on a stupid plastic clip to come in to finish the job.
I tryed playing with la starter today. Got it unbloted, fucking 6 bolts. 2 allens. 2 10mm. 2 17mm ~5hrs later WHY THE FUCK WONT YOU COME OUT FROM THE ENGINE BAY AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGGG I got pissed off at it and called it a day.
California, he's got a couple years until he can do whatever he wants with his 89' though.
Fuckin' Cali man... California is like that pristine piece of china in your grandmas china cabinet, looks all nice and clean on the surface but as soon as you look on it's underside, there's years of dust, skin flakes and a few dead spiders.... At least it's not that long to wait, why is it illegal now?
What L28 is not legal in the US?
engine swaps in CA are only street legal if the motor is the same year or newer than the car it's going into.
California, he's got a couple years until he can do whatever he wants with his 89' though.
he's going to be waiting a lot longer. rolling smog exemptions ended in 2004 here, so no matter how old a car is, if it's '76 or newer it still has to meet emissions requirements.
Inspections ended in 2000 here. Driving by cars that have no exhaust, bald tires and broken suspension bits is common. Also cars that have been in accidents yet have had no repairs whatsoever are common too. Many guys I know run catless and sometimes straight piped off the turbo.
I'd like to run catless, but my engine would shit itself from what I'm told. As far as I know in Florida I only NEED a muffler and it doesn't even have to be a good one, just has to be there.

My fuel injection system has only an O2 sensor on the cat converter, not one pre and post like new cars. You don't even NEED a muffler. All I am running is a cat and resonator.

After those two, you're good to go until the wheels fall off!
When you got an extremely tight spot with rusted nuts, it's nice to have a plasma cutter [t]http://puu.sh/5HesI[/t]
Same spot my corrado had an exhaust leak, then i went and got an 4-2-1 stainless steel manifold...
[t]http://i.imgur.com/QHiDeDV.jpg[/t] Parts came in the mail! Fuel pump is all done, now I gotta fix the engine.
Did clutch, shifter bushings and had new tires put on my 95 Jetta. Then the thermostat gets stuck open when its been anywhere between 11 and -7F this week. Sometimes I just don't want to lay on the freezing concrete floor, especially when I have to deal with coolant.
Egh. I did a thermostat on my friend's 93 jetta, it's like inside the water pump which is behind the power steering pump. Not the easiest thermostat job I've done, lol... there's a pretty good writeup on it though
$110 for a new windshield at a local glass shop yay! I'm officially dead broke. Need job soon...
Personal opponion here but whats with the window stickers? Its like a shopping list for theives, but also it sort of ruins the "sleeper" kinda look your car has going for it. I'd remove them imo, but thats just me.

Great work, I hope you post up some footy of how she drives. That engine sounds sexy, I want to know if the performance matches!

But the stickers are purely an American, particularly California style. I wanted to capture what made California great back in the 50's to the 80's and somehow make it a visual representation on my car. There's something about how muscle car guys build their vehicles. They build them with such precision at times that you just shake your head at what Japanese guys do across the ocean. Everyone styles their Nissan akin to their Japanese counterparts but I wanted to do something different. I've got a long way to go but I'll get there eventually. These kinds of cars are a daily sight including drag-setup Corvettes, Chevelles, Ford Mustangs and the like. I was actually next to this guy at a light and he gave me a nod: In other news, out of the blue this morning I get a phone call from a garage I applied to months ago. God is too grand for me to understand. Hopefully I get this job.
That style is called a "gasser." I'm not fond of that jacked up, tiny front wheel thing, but it's interesting. I thought about my new 2bbl setup I'm spending a lot of time on, and fabricating a lot of parts for, and decided to up the ante. Yes, 280cfm would be a welcomed increase, but... lets do 600. Yes, this is happening. I'm thinking an Edelbrock 600cfm square bore. Simple. Also, there are others that mounted them to 225's, so I know it will work fine. There's a proform that comes in purple... that I would love to have... but it's 650cfm. That may be pushing it. And luckily my brackets still work. I never liked the gasser look either.
I am a sucker for rake
