Do you not drive 65+ regularly? [editline]31st December 2013[/editline] I mean, 65 is slow even here
Sure, I could, but I'd have to hit the freeway and I don't usually need to. Hwy 54 is about the only "normal" road where the max hits 60. Now, If I REALLY felt like doing some high speed driving, I'd hit i75 and floor it till about 70. But that's pretty out of my way to wanna go fast. I know it's only 10 more then 54, but only till around the middle of Ocala. Also in the spirit of MiB Old and busted: [t]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y150/Takie_Kaio/CAM00346_zps17bef9cd.jpg[/t] New Hottness: [t]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y150/Takie_Kaio/CAM00349_zps7bf46657.jpg[/t] Greddy and 75 bux? Deal. Besides, it's more for the sound then the look.
I like driving the civic at 40 everywhere on my way home from class and then on the 'speed road' backroad i open it up to 65-80 mph and it feels like a fucking rocketship
65 is illegal here. 50 is regular.
We're talking MPH not KPH. Edit: And then I remembered 100KPH is like 62mph.
I do 40 in the snow.....you drive slow.
I did 45 past all the 4x4s and SUV's that were packed into the snow on the sidewalks. And my tire treads on the inside are really worn.
Took the cd player out of the Isuzu. It originally had a Dual radio missing the face, in a surround with a din pocket. I bought an oem radio+cd player, but the cd player didnt work. [t]http://i.imgur.com/O5y8qbi.jpg[/t] These are the old Dual on top, and cd player on bottom; [t]http://i.imgur.com/mFkRg9V.jpg[/t] I ordered a used faceplate for the Dual for $17, looks like the radio sells used for $40+, so itll be a decent spare radio
I do 40 in the snow.....you drive slow.
damn you're hardcore bro.
We're talking MPH not KPH. Edit: And then I remembered 100KPH is like 62mph.
What? :v: if I was talking kmh, that'd be like 40 mph is illegal and 30 mph is regular :v:
60 and 70 is normal for me on my daily commutes. Only 45mph in one area for no more than 2 minutes.
Had my third coil pack go on the GTI. Fortunately I had one more spare. Looks like its probably time to buy the last three. Also just purchased a new dogbone mount and axle.

Hate to tell you I told you so but like on page 30 or so I told you to get OEM not 3rd party. I told you so.
The coil that went out was OEM and the 2 aftermarket packs I have (One now for over 2 years) are doing just fine.
Yeah, but I'm cruising 65-70 in a 55, not in a 65 lol. And on the interstate, I'll hit 150 for fun, then calm down when there's traffic lol
Here's some junk. Been busy with just remote starts and stuff... nothing too exciting. Man your job looks like so much fun
Got my oil changed at Midas yesterday. They told me I need new tires, a new exhaust flex pipe, new pads and rotors, E-brake needs to be tightened, and I need to get rid of the airbag light on the dash to make it through inspection this January. I fixed my horn button today. The hub adapter doesnt have the correct contacts for the horn, so I had to rewire it myself with my little bit of residential wiring experience. It doesn't look professional, but I fixed it for free!
Just spend the last two days cleaning every goddamn contact and ground on my MGB. Had to run a few ground wires to fix a short issue I had on one of the rear light housings. Had to rebuilt the turn indicator selector switch too. Why does electrical work have such a bad rep, it was the most fun I've had in a while. In all seriousness, if anyone has a MGB and has any electrical issues, 99% of the time its faulty/broken grounds and dirty contacts
Arg. I did some work on the Merc, took the covers off the plungers annnnd cleaned things up and replaced all 4 o rings, and their might be a good possibility that I found metal shavings inside one of the plunger covers. :'( Put the covers back up and re torqued them, and primed the pump. Told la friend to crank her up.... no fuel squirted out. Not even a drop. Took off one of the covers, got friend to turn the car over and slight fuel came out. Urg. I'm terribly tempted to loading it onto my bosses car hauler and deliver it to a merc collector asking for help locally.
Centercaps came in today. I think the chrome lugs and the machined(?) centercap look good with the gunmetal grey wheel; [t]http://i.imgur.com/ay3xevH.jpg[/t]
Ordered a ten pack of 3ohm resistors so I can rewire the airbag connector into fooling the SRS into thinking my driver airbag is functional, so the passenger airbags will work and I can pass inspection. I don't like the feeling of gambling with my passengers' safety :/
My chrome Barracuda flip cap came in the mail. Jumped on a deal for the cap and custom machined adapter, and I am happy as hell. No more dented-ass barely fitting twisty cap, no sir. I drilled out new holes in the cap and adapter, and matched them to the fuel neck holes. Screwed it together. Simple as hell. I'll take it back off and polish it. Maybe later have it re-chromed when I have the bumpers redone. But for now... no more leaving the cap at the gas pump... And my camera lens is aparently dirty... All new Fluids for the new Year. My car is much happier now.
is that the magical boat like one where it pops open
Yessir. It is.
Cut the Alternator Control wire on my jumper harness and thoroughly happy with the results. Basically OBD1/OBD2+ USDM Honda/Acuras have this silly alternator control in the ECU which turns off the alternator under a bunch of conditions including the introduction of high load which causes dimming when you turn on blinkers, headlights, defrosters, windows, blower motors and radiator fans. I'm pretty sure my older alternator/crap battery didn't keep up as well with this and ruined the ballasts on my old set of HID's. So basically I cut the A16(OBD1) wire off the ECU and improved how my car runs because of silly previous US emissions standards and tests. If anyone else has a Honda which has a ALTC wire, I'd highly recommend to cut/depin it.

Why would the alternator turn off under high load. That is the stupidest idea I have ever heard of.
Why would the alternator turn off under high load. That is the stupidest idea I have ever heard of.
I believe Honda thought it would be a good way to keep the alternators diodes from burning out because of to high a load at once. The best way to protect from that is to have a capacitor, not shut off the charging source, even for .5 seconds. Also, higher tolerance diodes are THE KEY to fixing the whole problem in the first place.
Exhaust on my car finally bit the dust. Sounds like pebbles inside a tin can. Hurts my ears its so loud on the freeway. All this time I thought it was rod knock or transmission problems was just some resonator dying. Probably just going to get some cheapie 3" fartcan off eBay Engine burns oil too I think or I'm overfilling it. I think my dipstick holder isn't installed properly
Why would the alternator turn off under high load. That is the stupidest idea I have ever heard of.
It would be like going downhill on your pushbike at 60mph in first gear and trying to keep pedaling. Sometimes you just gotta know when to let go...
Got some dash bezels for $30 from the junkyard...now I just need one more switch and I can fix yet more of the previous owners stupidity
I did some work on my homemade swamp cooler today. Won't bother reposting the specifics. It's all here: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1294117
