What a nice bird! I remember saving a bird as well when i was like 7 or 8. There was some scumbag hunter who killed many birds, but this one fell down the ground. I kept him warm until the hunter left. I felt really good.
I would never clip his wings, he's free to go wherever he wants, sometimes he flies away for a few hours and when I call him he flies to me.
Thats really cool. I wish all birds could be like that. You managed to find a really smart bird
Looks adorable.

Almost all birds are extremely smart. It comes back to him because it loves him.

Most birds can fly off and find their way home. Hell, my grandad used to send messages through the pigeons he raised. Trained 'em from birth, and worked whatever voodoo magic is required for a bird to learn directions.
That's a pretty bird.
I meant no harm to the little guy. I just wanted to give them new food,
change their water or open the cage so they can go on a trip... and everything I got back is hissing, fear and disgust from him.
Mine was hand raised and loved people, he'd be all over any new people and pretty much stick to everyone he saw
But if you put your hand in his cage he would fuck you up
dat eye
Crows and their relatives are really clever birds. They can discriminate between humans, so you are certain it will know who you are and what you've done for it.

That's the cutest fucking bird I've ever seen
the fact that he hangs around you and comes back is fascinating
You should keep him on your shoulder like a pirate.
I want a bird now :(
WOW they're so cute I want one! is it hard to take care of them? and what's the cutest bird?
Can you tell him apart from other jackdaws easily, or does he sort of blend in when he isn't with you?
I'd totally want one as a bad ass companion but how the fuck do you deal with the flying shits
I haven't seen him for a day now, a large flock of jackdaws flew by, I think he joined them
You did good job of taking care of him. You are really an awesome person.

He'll be back after a while if he feels the need to, animals are like people at times and just decide to go off randomlly. My cat vanished for 2 months then suddenly came back for no reason, only difference was she lacked her collar now, she hadn't lost any weight either (we thought someone else might have picked her up and took her home but for the next week after she came back she was in real hunt mode, we had frogs, birds and even fucking fish turning up inside the house).
Had a siberian husky once, at some point she ran off for a few days, came back. ran off a few days later, came back 2 weeks later. Some time after that she ran off for over a month and then came back.
and then she disappeared.
and then came back a year and a half later. Then she hung out for a couple more days, and off she went on some other adventure.
As boys me and my older brother use to find a lot of wounded, or baby birds that have fallen out of their nests. We would raise them up until they were adults/healed and release them.. My brother would chew up worms for them :v:
