What do you tell someone with a religiously delusional point of view?

I came into this thread to be a voice of reason and to tell you that some people are happy with their beliefs so don't be an asshole, leave him alone.
However, this man has lost his mind and needs to be tranquillised.
I tip my fedora.

I think you need to start going to confessions more
you should go to his house and help crucify him, you're a terrible friend

And then leave him crucified in the middle of nowhere. He's probably trying to achieve some weird holy shit, so he won't probably mind.
actually that little bit isn't too funny. where I live in like 1984 some DND nerds thought they could do a blood curse or something and they kidnapped someone at a gas station and chopped them up and put them on a pentagram in the middle of the road
the world we live in, dude
الله أكبر.
That is what you should say to him.
Smh, I hate religion.

Thank you for this wonderful contribution, you've given me loads of insight on the topic at hand
I hear that Jesus wasn't crucified to "forgive us of our sins", but because he was a revolutionary.

You're right, he wasn't crucified by the Romans to forgive us for our sins, instead it was because the Jews wanted it so and would have caused public chaos otherwise. The question is why he gave himself up to be crucified and in Christian doctrine that would be to pay for the sins of those who believed him to be God.
Personally I wouldn't tell him anything. People with strong religious ties will take anything you say against their religion offensively.
I knew a guy who had a similar experience, but he just became ludicrously religious, not suicidal.
We were both around 12 years old or so, and he borrowed a game from me.
Well after a few weeks, I asked him if I could have the game back, and he said no.
I cried and told my mom, and then my mom told his mom and then I got my game back (Yay!).
Except then he took this as a goddamn satanic influence on his life and joined one of those baptist churches with mandatory % donations of your salary and stuff.
It didn't help that the game he borrowed had been Diablo 2.
After this, he talked about nothing except how amazing Jesus was. It kept getting worse and worse, and the more I tried to steer him away from the cult-like church he was in, the more he seemed to become engrossed in it. Eventually I moved away and didn't really talk to him again.
There's not much you can do once somebody gets to that state. All I can tell you is that if you're going to try to help him out, be prepared for a long process. There's no set way of getting him out of that mindset. The only thing you really can do is be consistently helpful and friendly.
