Yes, but at least he visits the section.

You don't need to be an active poster in a forum to moderate it.
You don't need to be an active poster in a forum to moderate it.
If you're an active poster in a certain section you're going to moderate it more than a section you usually visit less.
Why Jimbomcb so bald
rj thats a bad avatar im sorry to be the one to have to tell you

Disagree. I moderate the Garry's Mod Discussion frequently, yet I don't post very much within it. I'm talking about actually posting. Just because you don't see a lot of posts doesn't mean we're not reading through the threads. (From my personal experience anyway) The main problem is that people don't report enough. Report, report, report. We'll review them and ban as necessary.

I've seen zero reports. Either they have been being rejected by other moderators or other people just aren't reporting the posts. PMs also work for reporting stuff FYI

Have you had previous experience in moderating an internet forum? If so, please provide a link to the forum and write a short paragraph on what you learned:
Nothing public to show a link for, however I did moderate a forum shared between several high schools before it was replaced with a Moodle VLE system (which I went onto co-administrate/develop until I left). Things learned would include to detach your own opinion from the situation and to judge the situation as a neutral party, enforce the rules fairly and admit when you've made a bad decision and take action to correct it where appropriate.
What values do you think you need in order to be a successful moderator on Facepunch?
In my opinion, values that are important to being a successful are fairness and respect for users (there's nothing worse than a mod who sits on a high horse and seperates himself from the users, that's not what they should be doing).
Why would you like to be a moderator on Facepunch?
I would like to be a moderator because I want to assist in the smooth running of the forum and get more involved in forum-wide decisions/discussions. To me, there's nothing worse than seeing a post where the rules have clearly been broken and the user hasn't recieved an appropriate sanction, I do however understand that there are only so many mods and many many posts and that it may take a while to notice them. One thing that particularly interests me is the Mod Riddle, and I'd like to see more events like this happening throughout the year.
Please tell me why you would like to moderate this particular section:
It is a section I find interesting and therefore frequent (and one of the largest sections) and so I feel I would be able to do a good job of moderating it without it feeling like a task (as some existing mods may feel), it's something I'd quite enjoy doing.
Recall an occasion when you have been in a very challenging or difficult situation and had to make a decision that perhaps others disagreed with.
Tell me about the situation and why you felt it was difficult;
I once found a wallet outside a supermarket with some friends, which faces you with a moral decision of whether to hand it in as found, take some and hand the rest in or hand it all in. This is a difficult situation if you're 11 and £200 is roughly equivalent to a million pounds.
Who disagreed with you and what did they say or do?
A couple of my friends first reponse was to just "pocket it".
What did you say or do and how did others react to this?
I handed the wallet into the supermarket customer services desk where I was told if it wasn't claimed within 6 months, I could come back and collect it for myself. The friends that suggested I pocket it seemed to think I'd been an idiot, but I knew I'd done the right thing.
How did this situation make you feel initially?
Initially, I felt unsure of what to do like many 11 year olds would. My friends suggesting the opposite of what I instinctively thought was right didn't help matters.
How did you feel immediately after the situation?
Immediately after I felt like I'd done the right thing, and this was reaffirmed a few days later when the customer services desk called me over and told me that the person had been in and got their wallet back and left me £20 as a reward for handing this in, so not only did I feel good about having done the right thing I'd got rewarded: even better.
RawrKat - Posts a lot in Fast Threads and general discussion. Knows the forum well and lives in a house full of supermods. Why wouldn't I want her to be a mod?

Have you had previous experience in moderating an internet forum? If so, please provide a link to the forum and write a short paragraph on what you learned:
Yes I was a facepunch love advice forum moderator for a while. http://www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=226 However I was demoded for inactivity, this was not because I was lazy but that there was not much modding to do on that forum. I was merely an outsider giving advice occasionally. I have learned that maybe I should post more, although people may get annoyed by that if I post too often.
What values do you think you need in order to be a successful moderator on Facepunch?
Patience, the ability to keep calm in certain situations, keen eye for detail, knowledge of internet meme’s etc, great written communication skills, a down to earth personality so you don’t think that you are the shit and a good sense of humour. For an advice forum I think that the most important qualities would be empathy, genuineness, non judgemental personality, be able to talk to somebody on a one to one basis if necessary and keep whatever is said confidential, give them your undivided attention and advice if asked for it.
Why would you like to be a moderator on Facepunch?
I would like to be a moderator on your fine internet forum because I have had experience of being a moderator and a normal user on facepunch so I have both sides. I can have a laugh with users but also I can keep my professional hat on and can easily spot when someone is not following the rules of facepunch and deal with them accordingly. I like to join the fantastic moderating team because I work very well in a team environment. However I am capable to work independently without having to ask for help.
Please tell me why you would like to moderate the Facepunch category?
I go on fast threads a lot so I am familiar with that part of facepunch, I know most of the people who regularly post in that forum and get on with some of them. I have also moderating in the love advice forum and loved it. I was in my element when I was there and was gutted when I got demoded. I haven’t been back since.
Recall an occasion when you have been in a very challenging or difficult situation and had to make a decision that perhaps others disagreed with.
Tell me about the situation and why you felt it was difficult;
When I was in my first year of university I kissed somebody that was not my partner at the time. The people that I was with at that time left us. I think that was a very difficult situation that I had put myself in because I was unsure of what I wanted, some of my friends and family make it very clear what they thought of it. It was hard not having support, but it was my decision. I tried to remain positive about it, calmly thinking through all of the possible outcomes, what could happen if and then listening to my own intuition. It was the right decision to make, after a while I regained the support from my friends and family, even more so when I told them what my ex had said to me.
Who disagreed with you and what did they say or do?
One of my friends did not think that what I did was right or fair, which was their opinion. We talked about it sometime later and became closer friends.
What did you say or do and how did others react to this?
I sought the opinions of a few people of what I should do. Thought about the situation a lot and made my decision based on what I thought was the right thing to do. Initially a few of my close friends took his side and I don’t talk to them anymore, but the majority were more supportive and to be honest didn’t care.
How did this situation make you feel initially?
Upset, kind of like what have I done, how am I going to resolve this. How would I sort this out without upsetting either party involved.
How did you feel immediately after the situation?
After I sorted it out I felt happy and confident in my decision. Then when I got abusive texts I felt scared again. My friends and new partner supported me and my own positivity helped me through it.
Have you had previous experience in moderating an internet forum? If so, please provide a link to the forum and write a short paragraph on what you learned:
Have administered, and moderated small personal forums in the past. All of which are no longer active.
From this experience, I learnt how to become a discreet, yet effective moderator. I also learnt about the different methods that can be used to clean-up, and maintain
a forum, and its topics.
What values do you think you need in order to be a successful moderator on Facepunch?
*Ability to make quick decisions based on the given information at the time
*Justify and negotiate said decisions
*Ability to work as part of a larger team, with delegated tasks
*Good understanding of internet terms and activity
*Be known amongst the community. Members need to have some trust and relationship with the whole moderating team.
Why would you like to be a moderator on Facepunch?
I've been a member of the community for 4 years now, with an additional few months over at the old Garrysmod forums.
I would enjoy the opportunity to help moderate the forums, and aid in keeping the sections clean that I have contributed too for such a long time.
Please tell me why you would like to moderate this particular section:
I am a regular poster in H&S, and well recognised in the Linux sub-forum. I believe that the section requires more moderation, from knowledgeable members who have
experience with the given topics. LazyV and Cosmic Duck always did a fantastic job when the section was smaller, but now that it has expanded to include the Windows,
Apple, and Linux sections, a little extra help is needed.
I spend time each day reading new posts and threads in the sections, and notice things that often are missed of left ignored by other mods. I am also active at times when
other mods are not, so the sections are often cluttered during my visiting times.
It would be greatly satisfying to me having the ability to keep a forum clean, making it a friendlier place for more members like myself to post and contribute.
Recall an occasion when you have been in a very challenging or difficult situation and had to make a decision that perhaps others disagreed with.
Not heading off to university straight after finishing college. Everyone told me that for a career in IT, uni was the only way to go.
I disagreed, and set off searching for an apprentice.
Tell me about the situation and why you felt it was difficult;
After finishing my second year at college, I went off looking for an apprentice instead of applying for university. The most difficult part was deciding my future. 18 years in
education was nearly wasted at that moment. It was also rather difficult being put into a situation where I was being pressured into a decision I didn't want to make.
Luckily, I was able to find a decent job, doing what I wanted, and headed off to university, part time, a year later.
Who disagreed with you and what did they say or do?
Teachers, friends, and even myself to a point. Nobody seemed to believe that a career in IT was possible without a degree in computer science at the time.
In a way, that drove me to prove everyone wrong, and luckily enough the opportunity arose to get the best of both paths.
What did you say or do and how did others react to this?
Initially, my family were rather shocked. Coming from a well educated background, it was unusual saying you didn't want to go.
I kept telling myself, and everyone around me that something would come up. I had to also keep convincing myself that I had made the right decision.
How did this situation make you feel initially?
Confused and too a point, nervous. There was a great deal of uncertainty at the time, as I was now out of the education system, looking for a way back in.
How did you feel immediately after the situation?
Relieved. After all the uncertainty, having everything sorted out and knowing the way forward was a great relief.
SteveUK - garry told me to make him supermod

Hezzy, i heard you made spork-juct a mod because he was crazy and anticipated his melt down from the beginning. Is this true?
He needs to stop going over the edge... omg...
Wait... When did I get gold member?
I lurk all over H&S, generally post in the Main and Linux sub, but also post a fair bit if something of interest crops up in the other subs.
And i've just noticed the horrid speeling in my mod app D:
