I'm really disappointed with Top Gear (American) Was expecting the premier to be much better. All the hosts are boring and I hate the crowd of people/sit down and talk thing between clips. I was expecting it to be more here we are and this is what we did type show. I'll watch it, but I'm not really interested. 5/10
I'm not watching any more us top gear, it's just awkward and uninteresting, and really, really painful to watch. Maybe they need some time to find their stride, get to know eachother and get more comfortable as hosts and interviewers. I'll check back on season 2 if it lasts that long.
We all have to remember how TG UK was during the first series. Not nearly as good as it is now.
Topgear america was DECENT. I rarely watch topgear as is because i don't get bbc america and i can't be assed to watch it online. But the hosts really did lack...passion. The humor was awful too. The show was entertaining however, but not nearly as good as the original. I won't lie, the sheer fact of Clarkson accent while narrating makes topgear uk a million times better.
You know, I started watching the first series of Top Gear (I've only seen series 7-15 before) and honestly, looking back on Top Gear America, they feel almost exactly the same to me. They're both much more tame than what we've grown to love, and they both don't quite have the charm that we know. And plus, it doesn't have James May. So I'll keep watching Top Gear America in hopes that it becomes something great.
I have hopes that the US version can get better but nothing will ever replace the original.
I've been trying to find the first season of Top Gear since I've only seen Seasons 9 - 15 with random episodes from earlier seasons thrown in. That way I can get a fair comparison between EP1 of TG and EP1 of TGusa.
The second episode of TG USA was much better. Still not great, but at least it was bearable.
Has anyone watched Clarkson's new film? I liked it.
The italian job?
Yeah that's it. Some great cars on there.

The full thing is up on YouTube. [img_thumb]http://meta.filesmelt.com/downloader.php?file=TGA.jpg[/img_thumb]
Really? I must watch it then.
I like Tanner Foust in TG America, but Rutledge needs to get the fuck out. Almost every car it's "Oh, it's more expensive, it's obviously better than all the others", and he acts like he's hotter shit than he really is. Adam's not too bad, but he's still far from a good host. I think if they replaced Rutledge and Adam with people that actually know their shit, it'd be a far better show. I'll still watch it, but it'll take a good while for it to get better.
I want to watch this show, it seems to be like the pride of England or something. I don't know jack shit about cars though, like I don't even know how an engine works :P. I have yet to drive a car also, and I am 16 what is wrong with me :(. Also the top gear challenges in GT5 are fucking impossible.

Just watched TG: Apocalypse. Pretty funny stuff.

I wish the hosts were 3 Stigs, so we wouldn't have to listen to them.
eh, i liked the lancer on that mountain vs the skiers on top gear america, that was a coolish segment, but I still much prefer top gear UK, the africa episode is pure awesome
Just saw the episode when the cast competed to get to some festival without refueling, or else Stig would've opened it. Love this show.

While he chose Zonda R I just took '68 Fiat 500 F (this car). [sp]I won.[/sp]

http://transmission.blogs.topgear.com/2010/12/03/top-gear-over-christmas-more-details/ More details on the Christmas episode! [sp] "There’s also a drag race across one of Saddam’s runways, Jeremy has to protect his car from gunfire in a hair-raising moment, and a disguised sneak across the Syrian desert doesn’t exactly go to plan. Jeremy also addresses the question that crops up after every nativity play: ‘What exactly is myrrh, and where do you buy it?’[/sp] [editline]3rd December 2010[/editline]
You got to see the Bolivia one, more awesomeness in there.
I'd probably rank them Vietnam, Africa, US, then Bolivia, but all the road trip episodes have been great.
I think Top Gear USA is okay, but I've never seen UK. From what I skimmed: UK is better, no?
I think Top Gear USA is okay, but I've never seen UK. From what I skimmed: UK is better, no?
Top Gear UK is the best car show in the world.
Just watched ana apparently new one where they buy vans The one thing that puzzles me about this show is that depite how obviously scripted everything is, they still try to make it seem live, making it really quite cheesy. Love this show though
