... Nope :v:
Can't wait. Especially if it's a 3 hour special. I don't care if nothing particularly exciting happens for a few minutes. I just like the pacing of rest/action/rest/action more than almost continuous action. Plus, more to see of the trio of course!

According to their TV guide, it's from 20:00 untill 21:30. A double length regular episode.
Is the special going to simulcast on BBCA?
If you mean BBC Alba, then no. It will only be broadcast on BBC Two and BBC HD on the 28th of December.
However, shortly after airing it will be put up at www.finalgear.com in standard definition, with better quality version released later on (between mere hours and days after the broadcast).

Is that expat shield thing really to be trusted? The website looks so awful that it seems a bit fishy
Is that expat shield thing really to be trusted? The website looks so awful that it seems a bit fishy
Yeah it's trustable. People have been using it for quite some time now to watch Iplayer stuff, without a problem. In fact, I'm using it right now. You can see that I have an English country flag under my avatar now, whilst I'm from Holland.
Okay I guess I'll trust it. It did open a random webpage from some porn website in a new tab for no reason though.
[editline]28th December 2011[/editline]
Wait, is it going to be streamed on iPlayer or will it just be available there after it ends on BBC?

I was under the impression that it was, but apparently not. It will be available (in HD) in about an hour and a half I hope.
"Eat English Muff" is now trending on Twitter, good job Top Gear. :v:

Was pretty good
It was... Eh...
I'm almost inclined to say I was bored. Top Gear is made great by cocking about. But the amount of scripted stuff that happens is just unfunny. I laughed at the few genuine cockups that happened, like with the banner being put up whilst it was still moving. But with the scripted scenes like the winch (It's impossible NOT to hear something's amiss) and the banners tearing to make a convenient "comedy" situation (already been done many times before) it just kills the overall humor.
Most important of all though. They should have made it an old fashioned roadtrip from the South to the North with some genuinly interesting cars. India is such a great and diverse country, that the episode was constantly bogged down by the "trading" scenes they had to do every 10 minutes.
Imo it was their worst special yet, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as the other ones they've made.
I have to say though, I really liked the campfire bit. Just genuine old banter with everyone having fun, TG style. The café part after that was also great.
I don't see what you guys are on about, I thought it was amazing and hilarious. I think it's their best special yet. Top Gear is all about the 3 getting crazy far too big ideas and then watching them mess them up in the most hilarious ways and this special had plenty of that.
that train part was totally scripted other than that nice episode!
Great special, better than the arab one. Reminded me a lot of the vietnam special.
