True.
I didn't really grow up listening to metal so I've learned to get to grips with it. Although I'd probably enjoy a sludge or black style rather than thrash, I still love it.

Marduk are true black metal. Anyone who disagrees is a troll
Their vocalist body slammed some drunk dude who was trying to hug him on stage.
Kind of an overreaction imo.

They're the most blasphemous band in the world. Body slamming drunks is one of the less over the top things they do
I hope the stage lights fall on you.
Like the big 4 would play on an inside venue
I'll just stay away from them I guess :smug:
Necrophagist to Technical Death Metal.
Vader to Extreme Metal.
Tyr to Viking Metal.

I hate how they label them as the BIG 4
Just annoys me I was gona go sonisphere this year mainly to see mastodon but then I heard they are going to have a new album out so ill catch them on that tour (hopefully they come to the UK)
Well they ARE the 4 biggest thrash bands around
Well they ARE the 4 biggest thrash bands around
Yea I guess so.. But I think you may get my point.....
Its just how they are portrayed.

What's wrong with how they are portrayed
What's wrong with how they are portrayed
I dont know im not denying they are the 4 best thrash bands around at the moment but...
It just doesnt seem right :(
they are not the best 4 thrash bands around they are just the most notorious and four of the first in that genre that is why they are the big four
It just doesn't seem more right to call them best though...maybe opinion wise
Does Burzum tour? :downs:
Does Burzum tour? :downs:
Nope, he doesn't have any particular interest in playing live shows afaik (though at one point he did had a slight interest)
Necrophagist to Technical Death Metal.

Tyr to Viking Metal.
Tyr IS NOT. Viking Metal.
Viking metal shouldn't be a subgenre.
Bands that are considered Viking metal are either melodeath or folk metal WITH VIKING THEMED LYRICS.
Pet peeve.
or folk metal WITH VIKING THEMED LYRICS..
define this

Viking metal IS a sub-genre, because it doesn't relates itself to folk metal nor melodeath.
the sound and pace are different. the way the song goes is different. again, neither folk metal nor melodeath.
Metal sub genres.
Deal with it.
also add Diabolical Masquerade as black / melodic metal.
Does Burzum tour? :downs:
man
not funny
[editline]27th June 2011[/editline]
or was that not a joke oh my god
Also, if there is a heavily influential Metallica album, it really should be RTL. It practically invented the metal ballad that is still common in many albums of different metal subgenres
RTL was in the short run, but over time MoP influenced far more in the long run
Straight Line Stitch is a bad-ass metal band
nope
