Sounds incredibly similar - song structure, riffs, experimentality ("progressiveness"), even the vocals. And I think BTBAM are generally considered progressive metalcore, so that's where I would put them, too.
You could classify Protest The Hero as progessive or mathcore. Or both.

Thank you kind sir. [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] Also need to listen to PTH. They're playing at Sonisphere next week and I've not listened to them yet. I must get on that.

Nocturne is a fantastic album, I've now remembered I need to get Digital Veil :v:
They're just metal
no u [editline]29th June 2011[/editline] I dunno there are so many bands which don't put nearly as much effort into songwriting so I feel another few suffixes are deserved :v:
Eh I don't like Protest vocals. Sound a bit too... punk-ish? And The Human Abstract I would just call modern metal or something like that. They do sound pretty cool though another new band for me!
btw op crack the skye isn't even close to sludge metal this is sludge

Neurosis are pretty cool, experimental Kylesa is pure Georgian sludge though For original sludge go for like Down or Melvins
They are, Neurosis and Cult of Luna both bore the fuck out of me.
Cult of Luna is nice, not very interesting but nice.
Industrial metal?
Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing should be replaced with City. Way better production, songwriting, everything.
