I like trailers in general, they're fun to watch and let you know whether or not a film's content is for you. I think what you're saying is you don't like bad trailers, that misrepresent the film and spoil it. In which case, you and everybody else on earth pal.
dude, The Lion King doesn't have much to spoil plus it's aimed at children..

The trailer for Bridge to Terebithia misrepresented the film, but still didn't spoil the major plot point. Thanks to this, many kids saw the film expecting a fantasy Narnia type movie, but instead were given their first inkling of their own mortality.
But I saw bridge to terebithia and all I got was [sp] a ~~drama~~ about some whiny shit with anger issues and a character with only 10 mins of screentime dying[/sp]
Just because it's for kids doesn't mean they deserve to have the story spoiled for them.
I highly doubt a 6 year old would care.
I like them, but sometimes they spoil too much. I think that "The Lion King" and "Sideways" were the two best examples of spoiling too much in a trailer.
The worst examples I can think of right now are Dale and Tucker vs Evil, Cabin in the Woods and Drive.
It makes the movie look like an action flick when it isn't. It even twists the actual plot towards the end when [sp]The scottish dude is pointing a gun "supposedly" at Whitaker[/sp] WHICH DOESN'T HAPPEN IN THE FILM.
sorry to resurrect an old thread But I'm surprised no one mentioned the second trailer for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy Nice trailer, great movie, pity the trailer is so damn misleading I especially love 1:26, where with great dramatic music playing, they show Smiley getting his glasses done And a lot of cutting to show people pointing guns and shooting [sp]at the wrong people[/sp]
The worst examples I can think of right now are Dale and Tucker vs Evil, Cabin in the Woods and Drive.
There's one much worse, though I forget the title. It was mentioned a while back on here. The movie was about this guy who's a cop/detective hunting down this murderer and it turns out that [sp]the twist was that he was the killer[/sp]. I haven't seen the movie, only the trailer that showed that much.
I don't have a problem with trailers myself, but I've got a mate who avoids any spoilers like they were some sort of monster-herpes. Once he's made up his mind to see a movie, he won't even look at posters for it. I've been threatened with physical violence for talking about an actors performance in a movie he hadn't seen yet.
Hate them, especially if they're for a comedy movie. Usually they'll just spoil the best jokes so that you come to the movie expecting the whole thing to be funny. Most recent example I can think of was Ted.
i love watching trailers in the cinema before the film starts, but ye, it sucks when they reveal too much. for django unchained ive decided not to watch any of its trailers or clips- this way it will probably turn out even more amazing for me
