I just got back from the concert and I'm going to try my best to contain myself so I don't switch to allcaps and make people grumpy.
SO
My brother and I had super-front-stage tickets and we started out kind of far back for the first few songs (Uprising, Resistance, etc.) and then Hysteria hit and we charged through to the middle front rows. We kept pushing up as far as we could (I'd over-exaggerate and say we nearly pushed up onto the stage) and we then a bunch of heavy songs hit and the moshing started. Now, I'm nowhere near having any sort of build (skinny :( ) but my brother is the starting lineback(?) on his university football team (he's a first year student) so, he's built like a tank. We literally cleared out everybody in our section by the middle of the concert with all the pushing, etc. we did. We finally ran into a group of gals and decided to calm down for a bit (calm being not throwing people across the room) and did some grinding for a few of the less intense songs. We went back to moshing when Supermassive Black Hole hit and pretty much didn't stop until the end. They played Undisclosed Desires (my favourite song by them) and I felt like the only one that loved it. *tear*
So, for a first concert, it was nothing less than spectacular. Before Muse, the only music I listened to was classical and classic rock so you can imagine how much of a jump it is for me going to a Muse concert.
My ears are still ringing. :(
Muse isn't good moshing music
Muse isn't good moshing music
Yeah it's really not.
It's music you like...jump around to and shit, maybe. Songs like Newborn (the main riff) and Knights of Cydonia (especially the end riff), but Muse is NOT moshing music.
Granted I love Muse anyway. And I missed out on the MSG performance this year because I was piss broke and when I DID have the money, the tickets all sold out to presales that I missed.
To me, MUSE is music for realxing and feeling somewhat sophisticated :P
I guess it depends on what part of their music "arsenal" you listen to.
Started learning Sunburn on piano. I feel badass.
Started learning Sunburn on piano. I feel badass.
You should, it's an awesome song. Try Space Dementia if you feel you're up to it.
if you have never moshed to the outro of stockholm syndrome then you have problems.
I just got Origin Of Symmetry, Absolution, and The Resistance. Needless to say, I'm happy ^^
Well, I've mastered Sunburn on piano, now my dad will give me 50 bucks if i can do a COMPLETE COVER. Which means I have to do EVERY INSTRUMENT. Thankfully I can do the drums in Mixcraft.

Pretty out of time in parts, and some of the notes are wrong in the main riff.
"Lots of Reverb": well, I used a Pod2.0, and the reverb knob was on 1 out of 10 :v:, also, with the Insane channel, even with the drive on 2 out 10, it has a shit ton of distortion :v:
"Pretty out of time":
I recorded this song with my Pod connected to the PC, and used the Camera to record the Video, so I had to Sync the Video with the Recording and the then, the Backing track with the Video&Recording. hence the "out of time", because when I was Playing, I was "on time"
Also, I pulled most parts of the main riff by ear, since most tabs I looked in the internet were different.
Its not as perfect as it should be, but awell, its not terrible either v:v:v
no its pretty good.
which line 6 pod do you use? i have the GX and use pod farm. i could play with it all day
I have the Pod 2.0
Got an awesome deal with it
100€ used with the FBV4 pedal
I was thinking about getting the UX2, a friend of mine has it and says it is awesome, but still, this guitar/pod/and my Cube30 suffice my needs :v:

Yeah, I tend to play it like that, we should be ashamed.
Look at yourself playing in a mirror, its really bad technique but hey it works for me :v:
I am starting to get a nice down up down up picking technique for it though
Uprising's in a trailer for the new movie Knight and Day
Most people who claim to hate Muse are voicing their opinions on the basis of 'Starlight', a song that I feel is a middle finger up to what Muse are all about. It's the sort of song your little sister likes; it's just too simple, pop-oriented and marketed for the scene compared to the rest of Muse's gems.
Because these people have heard and hate songs like 'Starlight' and 'Supermassive black hole' for their pop orientation, they won't give the proper tracks a good go.
If I had my way, they'd be strapped into a chair and forced to listen to Bliss, then Apocalypse Please, then Knights of Cydonia (with the clip, of course [although credit for the clip goes more to the directors and writers])
In quite the traditional facepunch smart arse fashion, you will get the "I've heard new born, its shit" types just looking for an argument. Let them suffer in silence, missing out on a technically great band.
But I liked Starlight.
I enjoy most Muse songs, no matter what they're portrayed as in the media, if you think it sounds good then who gives a shit.
I'm going to go see Muse live on Saturday :D

Exogenesis Part 4 woooooooooooooo
it doesnt work. it's a zip which opens a single file. not .mp3, not .wav, just a normal file. I added the mp3 root but it didnt play.

To downpick that is good.
To use your first three fingers, however, is not.

Hysteria is one of my favourite songs from them. Knights of Cydonia kicks ass too.
