The first PC game I remember playing a lot was SimCity 4.
When I was like thirteen I played Half Life 2 at a friend's house, and wanted to know where the series went, so I bought Episode 1, then I started buying other Source games and whatnot. The first time I played a game online was HL2DM with a group of Dutch guys whose only knowledge of English was the word "cunt."
I remember always loving to watch my dad when he played Medal of Honor and half life when I was tiny. I started playing myself when I would be at my grandma and grandpa's house. As long as I played a half hour of jump start first grade, my grandpa would let me play Warcraft II and Doom II
Starcraft 1 started my career even though I hate RTS now.
I was about 9 or 10 when talk about the release date of Garry's mod started up. When I found out it wasn't on consoles, my younger self was blown away. Thanks Garry.
I saw my brother getting a Need for Speed and Counter strike on the computer and tried it.
Garry's Mod was my gateway game. That and Portal. Since then I've upgraded from an "entertainment PC" laptop to a full PC rig with a medium-range graphics card.
My dad put me in front of Doom 2 when I was 3 years old. Half Life, Diablo 2, and Age of Empires 2 came soon after.
When I bought the Orange Box back in 2011 and realized it was never going to be updated much as on PC than a console.
My dad got me RollerCoaster Tycoon for our Windows ME computer.

My dad showed me this game when I was younger (about 5)
It was a free demo on one of those CDs you used to get with magazines
I must have played that demo for hours
My family has always had a computer since I was born. I basically just played all the games my dad had and have always enjoyed playing games on my computer.
God damn I feel old.
Well let me put it this way. Some of the first games I played were not high-tech enough to have mouse compatibility.

Holy shit I played that too.
Year was 2004, and the game was Runescape.
It was one of coolest gaming experiences, not knowing anything and just exploring and wandering.
Nowadays everything seems so achievable, back then it felt epic.
My brother was always into PC and console gaming. I've been playing ever since I was able to, no joke. I remember I loved some random Kirby game, and I couldn't get to play it again because I thought the character's name was "Furby" so my brother didn't understand what game I wanted to play :v:
But if you want a game that REALLY got me into actually playing on the PC, it was this one:

Oh boy, so many hours wasted
played it again not long ago and holy shit it's hard

haha nice, I've never spoken to anyone else who has. Apparently there are some communities with about 10 people who play each night:

Maybe we should, at some point.
Also, anyone play Future Cop?:

That was probably the game that led me to wanting more, though again, it was only the demo
I played Starcraft back when I was about 4 years old.
Crysis in like 2008 made me buy a gaming PC.
It was amazing.

I have a ton of 1993-2000 games like Janes fighters, just about any semirealistic racing game at the time, jazz jackrabbit, etc.
I never really played them much, most of my time sunk into earthsiege.

Counterstrike: source introduce me to wonderful world of PC gaming.
I got into PC gaming two years/ten months ago.
Most consoles I had then were gone, or packed up for shit reasons what not. We got our first PS3 in 2009. Got Metal Gear Solid 4. And got a Wii, but it was chipped, so we could download games and stuff.
I was bored one day and decided I wanted to go onto steam (we had the account for 6 years, MORE actually).
I was let onto it to play some counter-strike, which I had never player but watched my brothers play it.
I speant my time playing it and I realized I clocked over 100 hours onto it.
Thinking back though, I have been a PC gamer for a while, like playing some old games and what not.
Or using the Playstation emulator. Had some great memories.
I got a copy of Age of Empires in a box of Nutrigrain. Iron man food indeed!
I started when I got my first PC with I think 14 or 15 years and I think the first shooter was Rainbow Six Raven Shield or something. Then on my first LAN we played Call of Duty 1 and I bought it short after. Then some time after CoD4 released we finally got a viable internet connection so I could play online.
And then my journey started.
In '98 when I got my own computer. Played a lot of roller coaster tycoon, capalism 2, and tactical ops assualt on terror.
It was 1999 friends invited me on a pc cafe. First time i've seen a pc all my life. Try to play cs 1.6 the mouse is moving in all directions. That's where it all began.
My dad gave me his Steam account info because he never used it way way back in the day, and for a while neither did I because he only had CS and stuff, but when I found out Half Life was a thing I decided to give it a try and the rest is history~
I remember my dad showed me the first Quake around 1999 or so. I really got into multiplayer games with Battlefield Vietnam when I was around 9 or 10.
Dad bought this in England 94-95 I believe, he showed me it and Unreal 99 in 1999 and that is my first PC gaming experience.
Took me until 2005 to start playing videogames for real on PC though.
