Just trying to help you get integrated into FP, new blood There's nothing humorous about unnecessarily posting the source to any jokes or references people make just because you know them It's awkward, superfluous and attention-seeking I don't even know why I'm going into it so far, it ought to be obvious Just be chill ok !!! [editline]6th April 2012[/editline] I like the weird ostrich vibe I also think it's a good idea to keep him creepy and spindly rather than broad and powerful as has been suggested To that end I would make the arms less thick and human looking, make the torso more emaciated (extreme definition of the ribs would be good) and give him very long bowed legs, maybe even reversed ostrich legs ending in hooves or something. I don't know, that's just the direction I would experiment in good luck [editline]6th April 2012[/editline] [img-thumb]http://i.imgur.com/igmOo.png[/img_thumb] :v:
Yeah I actually had him more anorexic before hand and bulked him out:
barf
when i mentioned broadening the shoulders i just thought with the big arms/hands it was kinda halfway between big and muscular and thin and creepy. I'd go all the way on or the other. so if you want to make it thin and creepy then i suggest making the fingers longer and more claw like
This weeks teen challenge thing on conceptart is "Devil" and I'm not getting any feedback on my design so maybe you guys can give me some opinions The idea is that the devil twines around the victim's body, attaches the strings and puppeteers the victim around to do evil stuff.
The head, neck and coat placement reminds me a lot of a vulture. You could use vultures as reference for the skin or the hands, specially new-world ones: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/snoO1.jpg[/thumb][thumb]http://i.imgur.com/21KAv.jpg[/thumb] A wrinkled, hair/featherless and very stretched out skin can fit perfectly to your devil, and would give it a more supernatural and bizarre appearance (and a less human-like look, which in my opinion is a plus). You could also use a half-haired, more reddish type of skin in some zones, like the one of the right vulture, to add a nasty touch
Yerp I did take a lot of inspiration from vultures. I think I'll give him more of that wrinkly loose skin (that vulture on the left looks badass) that you suggested that sounds like a great idea, might give him some bingo wings with bits hanging off them, I don't know about the red skin though. I'll test that out and see :) Oh yeah and I will probably exaggerate those claws.
I made a logo thing for the FP TF2 general chat. I understand it still requires a lot of work, but I'm really concerned about the eyes, is there a way to make it so they're perfect X's?
i like it better when the X's aren't perfect looks more 'personal'
That's pretty fucking clever. Wait till my cog-tree coffee table is finished, though. [editline]6th April 2012[/editline] Because so you can laugh at it while putting your legs on your better table
The legs seem awfully impractical in that all other tables have legs that do not extend beyond the lip of the tabletop itself. People are used to this convention and when walking around it will assume that this is the case for your table too. I can see many people tripping, etc. I mean it's a great table - awesome if you could fill it with something, maybe fill the grooves with dirt and have an ant farm or something - but it's just something to remember for next time [editline]7th April 2012[/editline]
Yeah I actually had him more anorexic before hand and bulked him out:
Very good to see that you are researching before/while you work
What do you guys think about this? Crude I know, this was used with a 40px brush, but I'm transitioning to a 30 or 20 pixel brush for a bit more clearer resolution. Also the prudes at DeviantArt haven't posted shit on my work when I need a bit of criticism to improve. Perhaps you guys could provide some?

Sorry it's a bit hard to read, I'm inking it right now.
What's going on with the arms? Also fix'd
Thanks for that. The arms are asymmetrical, one being a smaller arm whilst the other being a larger, but more common arm, the power gauntlet is relaxed whilst the other arm is clenched. The lore being that it's an entity that manipulates kinetic, magnetic and gravitational fields to propel itself and build itself such as upgrades if need be. Mind you I don't do any beforehand planning or body structure drawing. I just draw, although I'm starting to do all that pose and skeletal stuff now.
I started drawing a while ago. Here is what I have now. Somos (from Half-Quake Amen): Speed Limit 0: Some EVE: Online inspired portraits: Stocking (from Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt): I am a horrible artist, but I really hope I'll manage to improve my drawing skills.
Draw from life a bit.
I actually really like the idea behind this drawing

I'd like to see it painted properly at some point. I could do if, if I'm allowed...?

I always see you guys talking about pen pressure, blending, opacity, and stuff like that. I'm wanting to get into digital art as I have a bamboo tablet and pen, as the allure of what can be commanded is very enticing. Yet I can't seem to configure the pen right to get the brush/pen settings that is consistently mentioned/encouraged. Is there a tutorial on how to specifically configure the pen/brushes to what you use/recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the "control:" drop down meny for both options, set it to "Pen Pressure". Adjust the sliders to your liking.
