oh god what is this
zoomed out, caught me off guard
never work zoomed in until you're doing finishing details
a guy in my class at uni did that. zoomed out and realised he'd created the legend that is now Nice Face:

i'm not entirely sure why but it instantly reminded me of the forza logo. probably just the chrome-like tones and orange lines
Reminds me of the logos from Mirror's Edge. Keep it up!

Actually, about that...
Usually I do it when I need to do edges in hard places or so, but I never really stay zoomed in. Shift + H, it's like sex: in, out, in, out. Is that okay, though? Or should I try to just draw zoomed out all the time and make sloppy lines all over only to correct them when going for the finish?
Ofcourse I should mention that the zooming in is temporary in this situation.

it's not that you're not allowed to zoom in, it's just when you stay zoomed in and fiddle with details without paying attention to the overall composition
it's all about your focus and understanding of how the elements look together- make rough shapes zoomed out, and get closer as you need those details
I can't tell you how many pictures I've seen, even in pencil, where the person dumped way too much focus on a tiny area. I swear some people draw looking through a straw at times

I love this film
Shit, I've reached the point of desperation, I need suggestions for a comic or sequence of events. Please?

Fun fact,
Drawing the head too close to the bottom of the paper will almost always result in a crouching figure :v:

he picks strange times to draw indeed
Also just bought this book for way cheaper than it is in the shops. A collection of 'New Zealand fantasy art'. There's some AMAZING stuff in here, including some LOTR and HL2: Ep2 concept art.

What film? This is based off a magazine article...
I'm working on a stippling piece
it's of Galileo
it's currently at roughly 127,000 dots
true test of sanity
Our class has been doing life drawing so I thought I'd dump some of my less embarassing sketches.

I'm working on art assets for a 2d sidescroller game I'd like to make, but I feel like I'm putting in too much time for detail while I could be spending less time and creating more props and detail assets.
The pixelated renders are just for kicks, and I can't think of any good reason to use them.

Otherwise I like 'em
Drat, figures; I didn't use a reference for that first one.

Is that a good thing or bad?

Somebody wanna play?
Guys, I need your opinion on something.
At the moment I'm dressing her up, quite literally, trying to give her high boots and what not. But it seems way too ANIMAY KAWAII. Like the character's taken from sailor moon or something.
So should I keep the swimsuit and add some padded leather here and there, as well as reinforce her high boots, or should I aim for something more likely to exist in a western RPG?
I'm trying a different method every time I draw on a tablet, and this seems the best way, but also the most messy if I glance over to the layer tab... The boots are more or less a color overlay, for example.

The rendering's coming along nicely.
Though I don't get ANIMAY KAWAII I just get I AM A "SEXY" WOMAN LOOK AT MY BODY. I'd try and inject
some story into your character. Why is she wearing a swimsuit and uneven boots? I mean she's not going
swimming since no one wears boots to swim/the beach. Plus it's just a really boring outfit.
I'd go for the western RPG idea.

Her butt looks like it starts too far up and the angle of the face looks unnatural
See that's what I mean! I was taken aback by how I improvised the whole thight-as-hell suit look. It seemed so silly. Though I'm probably going to stick with the high boots.

If you're keeping the boots make them looser and more wrinkly (see below)

They rarely go up as high as they do in your picture. They'd have to be latex (which which case
paint in that texture) to be that skin tight.
