I did this for my DnD group after we played one of the most thrilling adventures of our lives. Needless to say this is after we finished it and our characters just stood and watched as the haunted farm burnt to the ground. I'm new to this sort of style, but i'm actually quite glad with how it turned out. Enjoy!
I really need to get a scanner if I want to get a somewhat decent digital version of any drawn picture.
After taking the pic I noticed the feet got really small (the top is closest to the camera). Tried to salvage it in photoshop, but to no avail. Oh well, had a laugh.

Just finished this coffee table yesterday. It is a cast concrete table, with a reinforcing rebar frame inside. The legs are polished rebar which is actually sunk into the concrete and attached to the frame so the legs just protrude out of the bottom surface of the concrete. The inserts in the table top are walnut, while the white sections are painted plastics. The table top is covered by a 1/4" glass pane.

Sick table.
nice, industrial! i like it
damn, thats really neat, although personally i wouldnt have put on the glass shield on top
That would make drink placement very precarious and annoying.
really? it would be cool to put the drinks in the hole thingys so they dont fall over, kinda like cupholder
If you spilt something or got crumbs stuck in the crevices it would be a pain to clean.

You'd also get creases in paper or whatever if you set stuff on it wrongly.
This page has too many winners! God dam I'm starting to love this thread. Definitely most talent I've seen.

Made this ages ago, my first piece of concept art... I think.
Looked through your da gallery by the way. Your art is so amazing! You know, when I look at the stuff like yours, I just wanna give up on drawing and throw my pencils and tablet in the window :/
Thanks! Anyone better than me just makes me want to draw even more!
if I wanted to paint it, should I try and have more solid, mechanical lines (like, use line tool and photoshop generated curves, or more sketchy), and how the shit do you make something look metallic.
Nah stick with freehand, maybe the Lasso tool for razor sharp edges but you have to know what you you're doing with that though, like for the image above I'd use the lasso tool to get sharper edges on the areas of highest contrast. (Like the white bit on top of his helmet against the black background.)
As for making things look metallic its just the way it receives light, not all metal is the same but it usually has strong highlights and reflections.
Also that is one fine looking table.
talking of colouring techniques I just watched this

he uses a technique I haven't really seen before where he puts in the colours, then does coloured warm/cool highlights and shadows on seperate layers as colour dodge. I think. I wasn't really paying attention i'd have to watch it again
[editline]30th April 2012[/editline]
about 2:15 is his colouring process
[editline]30th April 2012[/editline]
or watch from about 21:20 to see him colouring the main piece
Thats fucking sick, gotta go darken layers.
Can I post requests in this thread?
no, not really i guess
Made this on the laser cutter for my friend's birthday. I'm addicted to kerf bending and laser cutting now.

I also had a little request if someone could help. My boss just had two twin girls and we're making him a door plaque to hang on the girl's door.
I need some nice simple, yet elegant, floral design to go around the heart. It has to be solid black and transparent/white background, saved as a png.
Here are a few ideas I have, the image resolution of the designs are crap and too busy.

whats the maximum size/shape it can be?
The heart is 200mm x 180mm, but work with a resolution/design which works for you (1200x600pixels???), I'll just scale it down. It won't affect the quality when it comes to cutting it.
should you not be working in vector for this?
the pictures arent showing up for me
Well, yes and no. The very primative software only accepts bitmaps - that's why I wanted a png file for higher resolution. However, forgive me for my crudeness I have screengrabbed a vector and saved it into bitmap for the machine to read it- which actually came out really crisp.
As you can tell I know nothing about photoshop/vectors and all that malarky.

Yes/no They are a combination of both live traced and hand traced. I added all the layers together in photoshop.
Took me a while

so you bitmap traced and converted it to ps one layer at a time?
errr

push button > is a vector =/= creative work (regardless of the grunt work you did to put it into ps (which was unnecessary anyway))

not really but. i did it all by myself i dun do gud hand work in ps
What is wrong with live tracing.
I mean, you obviously need to go back and manually tweak it and add/remove aspects for stylistic/compositional reasons, but as a base it's alright I think

Fine, no cute for you.
I just bought a Bamboo tablet today out of the blue and decided to play around with it :$
Here's the first sketch just to get the hang of things. I still find the nib has too much friction compared to average pencils.
