yeah, that's probably similar stuff. I don't know why it's so hard to find it in a sketchbook; toned paper really should be the art standard imo.

incorrect, I worked at codies doing something else (people seem to assume it was concept art) but ended up being a jack of all trades before they moved my job to their main HQ and bankrupted me in travel expenses, after lots of arguing I told them to fuck off and resigned. Am looking to get back in again as a games designer which is more in line with what I was doing but without an established title under my belt in the role its hard going.
that concept was for a racing game that I've designed called "Grandshift"; the GDD is about half complete. there's a good chance it'll never get made but what the hell, man can dream right?

Sense of scale is a bit off - the lighting/colours are inconsistent if we compare the left half to the right half. Given the position of the castle on the left we'd expect it to be quite far away, as it occupies the same vertical area as the distant formations on the left. However the colouring and stairs indicate that it is closer. I'd make it much more obvious that it is closer and is on a hill to remove this depth-ambiguity.
Also some sort of object or figure or trees (etc) to give a sense of scale. At the moment I feel like the bottle-neck part of the river in the center of the image is really far away. This is also part of the depth issues I talked about above.
I'd push the values in the sky, flesh out the clouds a bit more an maybe reposition the character - at the moment everything is happening on the left side of the image and it seems like there's no [I]reason[/I] for us to look at the left side. Perhaps have the figure in the bottom right, looking up at the castle in the top left? or vice versa
Other than those small issues it's [B]pretty sweet[/B]. Nice sense of visual motif going on. Personally I'd try thinking about how I could separate the image from the other fantasy images out there. Is there some unique narrative object/character or unique design idea I could incorporate?

Yea of course. I was mostly just testing how the character would look on a cycle. The design was just something I kinda pulled out of my ass.
