Well this is a similar site I have bookmarked. Probably not this one either though. :D

@Mako Well you're entitled to your opinion but I think it's great for looking at how the muscles flow and all that. To understand anatomy, not just look at the shell. I bet you've looked at anatomy drawings for reference at some point. They're a lot worse than 3d representations imo. But yeah for studies of the human exterior form there's nothing better than the real thing ofcourse.
Is metal-art usually posted in here?
well it's creative and it's not poetry, so yeah sure.

Decided to fix someones CNC plasma cam and cut out a couple sheets of stuff then i went and cut out this
it got this far before the machine broke
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8682580/IMG_20120511_121945.jpg[/t]
rest had to be cut out by hand with a hand-held plasma cutter

still have yet to grind it down to remove the heat discoloration and then paint it.
maybe i will post the other metal stuffs i make

The lower part of the guy is fine, but the face is too messy and unfinished. The head with the helmet is a selling point in the drawing, it needs to be better finished. Now the top and bottom halves look like they're from different images.
Man, drawing without referentials sure is hard :I

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully I'll find some time to fix it, cause now I'm really fucked up with the university :(

Firstly posemanics use especially inadequate models, we stopped recommending the site like three threads ago.
Secondly looking at the "shell" is exactly what you get with a 3d model. The modeler sure as fuck didn't model each muscle and layer, just the shapes with a texture around them. They're guaranteed not to be perfectly accurate, and for the most part they're only vaguely alright (See: the two sites you posted)
I wouldn't call it an opinion even, it's just how it goes

As a rule of thumb it's not a great idea to do studies from 3D models. They can't approximate a real body very well at all.
Thanks for those links. I tried posemaniacs once and I struggled to gain anything from it but I like the look of pixelovely and may get a new blank pad today and try and get back into drawing.

Well posemaniacs pretty much has the shell with painted muscles on top and wasn't a good example for my point about 3D muscles but there sure are 3D models with all or most of the muscles modelled. I think zygotebody gives a lot better impression of how the bigger muscles flow than drawings do because you can rotate around the thing. If not better at least it adds to the understanding in my opinion. This one should be detailed enough if zygotebody doesn't satisfy. Check the video in the 7th post.

My first stencils I made, gonna print these out, cut out black parts and spray somewhere, but first will add some scenario to scene, I didn't use the typical: Paste into photoshop, change levels and done. I took original images, and by looking at them for few mins, broke them up into few parts and redrawn using basic shapes in photoshop, so really made from scratch.
Inspired by Gasmask Goliath and police in Ireland.

and yet you don't seem to understand one of the most basic concepts of stencils: islands
your designs won't work for a start (bits will fall off) and you have too many superfluous details in there
i'd have another go if i were you, sorry to be harsh

Yeah I know, but what if I use multiple layers? Like split all picture into few parts then layer by layer?
why would you want to do that, when the key to a successful stencil is to be able to get the design across in one (for the vast majority of simple)
if you're trying to do multiple layers at a beginners level you're going to have real problems with registration (lining it up), so i really wouldn't recommend it. work it until you have it working all on one layer.
also you'll also want to use something thicker than paper if you're serious about spraying it, normal printer paper will soak up the spray paint and become pretty much useless. when you get the design sorted you'll want to use something thicker, thin acrylic is the best since it doesn't absorb any paint at all but it can be hard to get and will be more expensive. cereal box card is your best bet at this point

well okay today I was just practicing and trying to draw black and white by just looking at colorful photo, I know people use photoshop to de-saturate and convert to black and white but I thinkthats just retarded (just my opinion)kind of seems too easy then, so I tried and well seems like it worked, now I will think for method how to print, any suggestions? I mean I can't really buy a huge printer to home.
what's stopping you printing it on a normal printer?
if you want to copy it to something bigger then i'd suggest the old drawing-a-grid-on-top-of-one-design-and-a-larger-grid-on-the-other-and-copying-from-that
pretty basic way to do it, and frowned upon (i think) for a lot of arty things, but in this case i think it's your best bet
Is there no way I can add bridges to those images? I mean the gasmask goliath seems okay, he doesn't have much hanging parts, but the policeman does but with few simple edits it would be fixed, also would printer accept cardboard? I mean wouldn't it jam?
depends entirely on the card and your printer, but most of the time no, normal printers can't take card - certainly not if it's cut from a cereal box
with the policeman, just removing the outline on him would help a lot, then you've got the details in the face to sort
and on the gas mask guy you're going to lose a lot of detail on the arm in particular, because the lines are so thin and (unless you have spray adhesive to use) it won't stick down and it's unlikely you'll get any result from it at all, it'll all end up sprayed. and again with the face needing bridges
just overall, it's not really a good setup for a stencil. the lines are too thin, the details are too small which means you'll lose a *lot* of detail in the spraying, so it'll look near enough the same as two silhouettes
oh well, had a good practice anyways, will think of simpler images for start then
Starting up another piece of concept work:

I don't know which are the best words to describe, but..
Arms' positions are wrong. His left arm should be bending backward, right arm should be bending forward, that is, if he's running normaly.

Dude, I've been really tempted to do something like this. I just watched Prometheus (which came out here last friday), and it really inspired me to attempt to make some h.r. giger-esque work. Involving aliens of course.
never did though.
