The way the figure is walking is a bit strange... but it's a cool armor concept. The textures are also perfect. Another quick paint I've been working on. Trying to learn more about building textures with paint layers. Inspired by Alex Gray and H.R. Giger. It is supposed to be part two of my album artwork, but the style are so different that I might re-consider.
Trying to make a full size energy sword from Halo. It started out as a papercraft model, then I filled it with spray foam, coated it in resin, and then put auto body filler on top of it. Next step is to sand it down nice and smooth, detail the hilt a bit with a dremel, and then paint it.
Looking nice. I would've separated the sword handle from the two blades and apply bodyfiller region by region rather than all at once. It's much easier and you save a bit more bodyfiller. Also damn, that's a big sword.
forgot to post the finished version, or rather the version where i gave up halfway through the legs aaaand it got frontpaged on newgrounds :D!
the rendering and atmosphere is pretty good, but you gotta work on that anatomy! [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline] no normal human being would fit in that.

bad excuse for not learning human anatomy. [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline] if it's not a human, then it's in the uncanny valley.

I've never even papercrafted before, let alone tried something like this, so I could use all the help I can get. I really had no clue how to attach the handle, the pattern didn't make it very clear. This was the best I could do while still keeping it sturdy. I'll definitely try the body filler thing on my next project...we've already had to buy a second can of body filler for this one, guess that could have been prevented.
maybe it's not an human being
that's a cool artistic defence but it'd still be a creature with really really weird legs and feet

It's the tin man's evil cousin. EDIT: Missed new page.
Did a quick revision of the sky and distant mountains to make it a bit less muddy and add some brightness and saturation-contrast into a pretty dim, overcast image Not sure about that purple sky though Feel free to CC please
The colors feel like wind, the cables disagree.
The last pole for the power line is obscured by trees, but the cables are not, so it looks like they make a sharp turn into nothing.
speaking of things that normal people wouldn't wear
With the pose he's in it kinda looks like the axe is disproportionately heavy, like the axehead is made of solid lead. It just looks too small in comparison to the character for him to be heaving it so much. I like the armor though, looks kinda sci fi, giving it an interesting contrast with the mummy-like guy underneath.
someone brought up MGS4 and I felt like doing crying wolf, I wanted to draw her when I played but I was completely out of practice I stopped and realized the first pose was weak and the rendering wasn't helping at all, so I thought it was a good opportunity to look up some animals and work out some more fluid posing real quick, I'm rather stiff and methodical when I draw stuff and that's a habit I really want to kick
maybe it's not an human being
Yeah, no normal human being would even be able to see anyting in that kind of helmet, but it doesn't' seem like a problem for that dude :)

DA is gross Even though you seem to belong to that whole scene, since you're posting here I can still advise you to escape from it and make efforts to be good at art
